On the 6th case. LLF is back to his S1 annoying self again. He really should know better by now.
Yes, he is high born and can get away with being an ass if he wants to. I'm Chinese and know how hierarchical society was (still is in some ways). But as LLF said, he is not afraid of trouble if it means doing what's right. I'd have thought being respectful of friends who have saved you life multiple times is *right*
At the end of S2, I thought he finally understand that his duty as official is to serve the common folk. But this season, he's reverted 3 times back to arrogant ass already. At this point, I'm thinking he doesn't deserve SWM's friendship and PXJ.
Wow, case 5 is short! It feels a bit rushed and the main villain is a bit anticlimactic. But I still like it for the all round happy ending. It's two in a row now. I am kind of starting to worry it might be the calm before the storm....
I just finished case 4. It is predictable but it is so sweet. I think I like it most out of the cases so far this season. I love the happy ending all around :)
That said, I still don't see swm and yt as a couple. I can see their devotion to each other but it's not romantic. LLF and PXJ on the other hand are just so cute together! They have both grown together so much through the seasons. Now, I'm hoping a wedding isn't too far off, heheh
Yeah he pissed me off this case. And I am utterly flabbergasted he didn't catch any bad vibes from the people…
Yeah, LLF is in the worst situation being caught between the king who he grew up with and his mom. He'd be dead already if SWM wasn't so good at playing the two sides.
I like @AleksandraSukur analysis, especially since WM literally means nameless.
This all-righteous arrogant behaviour is part of his nature and noble status, he cannot change it, this trait…
I am aware he can be rude because if his status. But just because you can does not mean you should. LLF did not know better in S1. But he has learned through the seasons and does know better in S3. Which is what makes this case particularly grating to me.

Heheh, yes, that is true. He does revert to annoying once in a while in S2 (like the start of the muted slave case). But I find case 3 worse because it's directed towards SWM who is his senior brother and been there helping him from S1. That, and it's 1/3 through S3 and we already know he has learn some humility and gain a little more EQ. It's kind of weird to see him slide back over a situation that is obvious (to the audience)
I am at the start of case 3. I felt like LLF had slid back a bit into his "I am honest and right and better than you" self from early season one (which I find very annoying). He is so rude to his boss and SWM. And he's acting all righteous about it.
Are we supposed to side with him? It does not take a lot of EQ to understand the situation. SWM and PXJ explained more than once to him, and he is still so rude about it.
I honestly hope LLF does not slide back further. I have grown to like him a lot over the series even though he's still too rash sometimes. I will be very disappointed if this self-righteous rudeness continues.
This is my favorite genre and I love the 1st two seasons. I waited for more episodes to be out before starting knowing that I will binge. I finished watching the entire first case in one night. I think it is a bit more predictable than some of the past cases, but it's still super good. The cast chemistry is great and such a treat to watch. LLF is still a bit too rash for all that he's been through, but I think that is what makes the others, especially SWM and PXJ, so important. They all balance each other so nicely. The fight scenes are good too. I think I can watch one more case before I need to wait again.
I am slowly catching up. I am on 18 now. The cast and chemistry is great, but I still can't get used to the mix of scifi and costume drama. A cgi voltron lion just appeared...
I suppose "video game-ish" is more appropriate, like it's all cgi and not real.
I am not to the desert sequence yet, but there was a sequence in the 13th house episode (force lightning and charging death star) that made me think of Star Wars, heheh
I am on episode 8 now. The story is getting engaging, but the action sequences are too over the top. They look so cartoon-ish that they kind of just take me right out of the story. This is probably the first show where I wish for less action sequences...
lol different genre. this is not wuxia but xuanxia. fantasy martial art. even the male lead not human.
Wow, seriously?! I thought fox is a nickname. I generally stay away from fantasy because there is too much room for story to head down a path that defies logic and common sense. I'll give this a few more episodes though.
I think my expectations were too high. This was one of my most anticipated drama since it is from the writer of mysterious lotus casebook and has XSY in it. I didn’t get a chance to start till now but I am disappointed with the first couple of episodes. The action went too far into posing and cgi and looks cheesy to me. I was really hoping for something more like MLC where the actors did the action choreography and the cg is just there as a background assist.
In general, although the show has great visuals, somehow it looks a bit too "digital" like too high definition and not quite real. It reminds me more of blood of youth than MLC.
I hope the mysteries will get a bit more engaging soon. The ML is good looking but his character and the setup is not that interesting so far.
I just finished. It started so well. The first three stories made me cry. I love the message too - that everyone dies and the most important is to live in the present. But something changed in the middle when the romance (×2) develops. The message changed too - from living without regret and letting go to being together always (i.e. the typical romance).
I think it would have been better if the show ended with the resolution of the uncle's story. The episodes after that arc were draggy and so much didn't make sense. The ending itself was underwhelming and the side couple "happy ending" completely undermines the message in the early part of the show about moving on. Overall, it was atill a good watch but it could have been so much better
I just completed the show. I have watched (though not completed) every lost tomb series except one; and surprisingly, this is my favorite.
I think it is because this is a remake. I know the general story already and was expecting the cliffhanger. I'd probably be annoyed at the ending otherwise. Although this is not my favorite cast, I'm looking forward to one (or two) more fast-paced seasons to finish out the story.
