unknowingly to anybody, in the past, Ji-Woo's dad have helped Gyeong-Do's dad.
Gyeong-Do's dad got an accident that made him unable to work again.

Gyeong-Do's family is from working class family, so when his dad can't do normal work permanently, he lost his source of income.

Ji-Woo's dad gave him money which then they use to start laundromat business. Thus Gyeong-Do's family can still make money to live.

the only one know this story is Gyeong-Do's dad, but some time later Gyeong-Do found it too but never reveal it to anybody, nor ask his father to confirm it.

Time passed, and so is Ji-Woo's dad. He passed away.

To pay respect to Ji-Woo's dad, Gyeong-Do rush to buy suit from Jarim's shop to attend his ceremony. (Jarim is owned by Ji-Woo's family).

The next year, Gyeong-Do do the same, he bought suit from Jarim's shop so it became his tradition every year the same day of death anniversary of Ji-Woo's dad.

That is his way to honour Ji-Woo's dad.

Jump to present time.
A gossip circulating in public, that Ji-Woo and Gyeong-Do are in romantically relationship since Ji-Woo is a wife of someone else. They're accused of having an affair, and Gyeong-Do is the reason of Ji-Woo's divorce.

To counter this, Gyeong-Do made up his story that their close relationship is non-romance. Their relationship is a friendly relationship and they become closer because of Ji-Woo's dad helped Gyeong-Do's dad in the past.

The issue in public then turn to angelic act of Ji-Woo's dad in the past. That also change public opinion about Jarim and Seo family.

i have commented on someone else's too. That they're both, Ji-Woo and Gyeong-Do are mentally unhealthy person, especially Ji-Woo.

Thus we can't expect her to make rational choice, or make decision like us.

I'm not defend her, or the writer, but by see her this way, we can know why she is act the way she is.

i'm not saying she is right, or have right reason to do what she did. No. But i can understand her character, that she is not normal person, so never expect her to think like us.

in another comment i also said that they're like that our friend who in toxic relationship. No matter how hard we told them to break up, they cant. And we so angry to them, until finally we gave up to break them apart.

we can know why she is depend to her. But, tbh, after 12 episodes, i can't really understand why Gyeong-Do attracted to her.

I have a friend who is suck with woman, suck in romance, hard to move on after his break up, but Gyeong-Do is another level.

I can't understand him.

All in all i find it good when Gyeong-Do and Ji-Woo story come full circle.
In the beginning it was Gyeong-Do who prevent Ji-Woo not to leave the country. In the end, they're reverted.

aaaand....no guarantee that they will not break up again. It just the show ended with them walking in the park.

There is still chances for 4th, 5th, 6th break up, hahaha.

Like you said, probably Ji-Woo depressed too much with having a kid. That another reason for their future break-up, lol.

thats why i call them both unhealthy, she is mentally unhealthy. so dont expect her to make a choice like you mentioned.

she is intelligent, but emotionally she is not. That's is Gyeong-Do to her, her emotional stabilizer.
She seems arguing all the time against him, but he probably is the only person she will listen to.

i'm not trying to defend some wacky scripting or characterization from this drama.

but at some point, i realize that they're two are not like us. Especially her. While i don't really understand why Gyeong-Do attracted to her.

I can understand why she did things that lead her to wrong place. Because eventho that she is intelligent, she is emotionally incapable to make decision.

Gyeong-Do use Ji-Woo's dad angelic action as a reason to explain to the public, why he is close with Ji-Woo. It's all because Ji-Woo's dad action to help Gyeong-Do's dad in the past.

That to counter story about his romantic relation with Ji-Woo. Although it's true, but the public labeled her as adulteress whom have romantic relationship with Gyeong-Do when she is in marriage with another man.

the story about Ji-Woo's dad also to bury Ji-Woo's adulteress issue.

Jarim's public image then turn to positive thanks to Ji-Woo's dad story years ago.

for me it's beautifull, cuz she is rich, she can have all good materialistic things in the world. but she just said that.

take further back.
She always comfort with Gyeong-Do, no matter where they are, what he do, what they eat. She live in luxurious world, but she never demand that from Gyeong-Do.

She never ever criticize him, even when he wear that oversize suit.
She mock him many times, true, sometimes its about materialistic things. But she never demand anything from him.

She is comfortable to hang around with Gyeong-Do's friends, sleep over with them like a sardines in a can, hang around with Gyeong-Do's parent in their laundromat, etc etc.

When they broke up (again), and she tried to be strong, for herself and for Gyeong-Do. She didn't do anything crazy, cuz she know they broke up for good reason this time, and with good communication that they have same goal this time.

But, at the end, she cant. She no longer can live in the world without him. So when she finally said that to Gyeong-Do, i found it beautifull.

i disagree with her being manipulative. Them both is unhealthy persons, don't expect them to do things like us, common people.

along the drama you'll know more about her. She never complained about Gyeong-Do. Thats not manipulative behavior, she didn't dominate him, she didn't conciously manipulating Gyeong-Do to become something she want.

You'll see that she is just calm and happy around him, and people around him. Something she didn't have in her own circle, except her sister.

I like their banter, and dynamics. Her harsh shell somehow attracted Gyeong-Do.

They're really depend to each other. They're like one of our friend that stuck in toxic relationship. No matter how many times we suggest he/ she to break from their relationship, they can't. They suffering in that kind of relationship, but they can't find happiness elsewhere.

i do agree that this drama romanticizing unhealthy relationship.

actually she just said "she just need Gyeong-Do", but without context, background story and what situation she said it, you'll find it meaningless.

long story short, their story is in full circle.

all best things of them actually happened in 2-4 last episodes. if you don't like being tortured in the middle, you can jump there without losing important information.

i love the last episode. i didn't expect it that way.

but.....when she said that beautiful lines to Gyeong-Do, i can't get rid of my nasty thought that some bastard have banged her.

Now we know why he always wear oversized suit.

We can expect how they will end, but i didn't prepare myself with the background story of his suit.

I know peoples have mentioned about bad writing. Personally just want to add about the cringey things around office politics. Her husband maneuvres and reaction are just there to please the audience, that's not how it work.

That office politics felt forcefully written to have impact to the couple's relationship.

how you assume it "supposed to be romantic" or "supposed to be a happy ending"

your word "supposed to be" is actually your own expectation.

the story it self can be anything, sad, happy, etc. Do the word "korean drama" means happy ending?

seems Se-Na never interested with male except Ra-Ik, in her whole life.
it'll be need more hardwork for the writer to make her fall to the prosecutor.
even harder knowing the fact that the prosecutor also the bully from the past.

at first i do hope he is not the bully from the past. but the moment he called her, it made 100% sure he is the bully.

redemtion is not a magical way to change the fact in the past.

i would like to see him acknowledge the fact in Ra-Ik's investigation, acknowledge her skill too, and in the end found his own way rather than following his dad footstep.

definetely he attracted with her, but not in romantic way.
not everything have to be romantic anyway.

there is probability for the prosecutor to change his way or make some redemption.
well at least, im interested to that rather than make him purely villain.
so far we know he is under pressure of family name and his father, but i hope he find his own way, the right way as prosecutor.
