Finished watching the latest episode and wow, the pacing of this series is really so refreshing ( one of the reasons why I’ve been hooked when I first watched this series). Pretty much enough to get me over my frustration due to the unethical move of Mr. Quack Professor in the previous episode (which is technically ep. 12). From the breakup scene in ep. 25 to the fast transitioning to HJ wanting to get back together even after breaking up with him despite the guilt in the latter part of the episode. I was amazed. The emotion it invoke has been so raw, I might have to uprate this once again. Lol. Okay, kidding... I won’t do it for now.
That quack of a professor (and father) is making the psychiatry and psychology department look bad. Actually,…
I’ve not liked him ever since I watched him being disrespectful to his child so you can say he’s been such a nuisance for me since then. Kinda like the proverb: Respect begets respect. Haha.
That quack of a professor (and father) is making the psychiatry and psychology department look bad. Actually, I have issues on both the father and son for easily breaching their current and former clients’ confidentialities but the first one is worse than the latter. He is very unethical and so fixated on his ideology that Anchor Lee shouldn’t be falling in love the second time around. He is so certain that he knows him so well but as someone who should be advocating mental health (considering his status) and the importance of holistic growth, he sure has a dogmatic viewpoint. He can’t just seem to accept that people can move forward and go on with their lives. Not doing so is more of a problem he should be happy not to experience as Anchor Lee is doing a great job finding his happinness in life. Besides, he is not his patient anymore to begin with. And what’s with recording every conversation he has with people? Isn’t that illegal knowing that the other has not permitted him to record what they say? And I know this is just a drama, but I’ll say it again, their depiction of mental clinicians (psychiatrists in this case) are so disgusting that I just had to downrate this (a bit for now). These reasons alone make me feel sick but the worst is he just wants his hypothesis about Anchor Lee not being able to move forward to be right for his personal interest — for the sake of his book becoming a bestseller. I am just utterly dismayed with this development. He is so problematic that I’m seething with annoyance.
I don’t know why but I really can’t seem to enjoy Jun Wan and Ik Sun’s love arc. I can’t just seem to ship them.
NOT-SO UNPOPULAR OPINION: Putting the romance tag aside, I’m enjoying the slice of life genre this series has. I love their band practices everytime. I also find the bestfriend-of-60-years status they have for Jeong Won’s mom, Rosa and Hospital Director Jongsu so adorable. Like can we just talk about the mafia game these adults had as JW tried his bestest to tell them the game’s mechanics? These bunch of grownups are the cutest.
I’m binge-watching the series NGM has done and this is the 4th one I’d like to complete from my PTW list. I’d say I quite have a high expectation of this as I love both NGM and YJS.
NGM is a genius in choosing his scripts. I know he is a brilliant, versatile actor but my admiration for him increased ten-folds after watching him in Chief Kim, Doctor Prisoner, and Hot Stove League (I’m pretty new to this fandom but better late than never, right?). I can’t help but be amazed with the roles he portrays every time. I like that he chooses to play smart characters no matter how different the themes/genres of the series he’s doing. He aces every role. I’m excited to see more of his crafts and hopefully, he’ll continue challenging himself by accepting projects that further proves his versatility.
He was great in HSL. I hope he’d be given a villain role someday. Like I can picture him out slaying a psychopath role or something. Haha. But woah, he would be reuniting with NGM in Awaken.
To finish this after watching Nam Goong Min in Chief Kim and Kim Byung Chul in Pegasus Market is such a fascinating…
I enjoyed watching the power struggle and battle of wits in this series. I loved that the protagonist seems to take control of the events that take place despite coming from a very humble beginning (he didn’t really have the money or power at first). It was really amazing how his counterparts always seem to think that they got the upperhand only to belatedly realize that they are actually playing by NYJ’s own rules. I vastly enjoyed watching such a smart protagonist.
To finish this after watching Nam Goong Min in Chief Kim and Kim Byung Chul in Pegasus Market is such a fascinating experience (especially the latter who played such a ridiculous character in PM). These actors are so versatile that it made everything here so good. Also add the acting prowess of Choi Won Young too (never seen any of his previous works but he slayed his villain role here).
I’m happy Mew gets to be partnered with a lot of praeks (and not just sticking with one lead guy but then, koojin is not that much of a trend anymore nowadays which is actually better). Now, I’m hoping to see a Mew and James Jirayu pairing soon (as their chemistry was actually intriguing on the short scene shown in Khun Chai Pawornruj where Rasa asked for Mor Pat).
Like Han Sun Mi is such a worrywart for Dong Baek’s welfare, I’m living for it. Btw, I love our Avenger’s…
Also, can I just how trashy a lot of people in this series? If not for the Avenger’s Team, I could have sworn almost everyone in this series are scums who proceeds to do despicable things without any reflection whatsoever with what they have done (like I don’t even see an ounce of them switching side whatsoever for the sake of their family’s safety). It is painful to see these scums of Earth (yes, I’m including the reporters who are willing to ostracize a colleague and to publicize things without even wanting to find out the other sides of the story for ratings) behaving so low just so they can protect their reputation, pride and power. Smh.
Memorist is not even done yet but here I am wanting a drama reunion between YSH and LSY to happen the soonest…
Like Han Sun Mi is such a worrywart for Dong Baek’s welfare, I’m living for it. Btw, I love our Avenger’s Team of four. I love how the trio already expected DB to leave them behind just so he can shoulder all the burden of their current situation.
I do hope they won’t kill my favorite Team Chief Goo or else I would be so frustrated.
Memorist is not even done yet but here I am wanting a drama reunion between YSH and LSY to happen the soonest because dang their chemistry is off the charts, especially in the recent episodes.
