So I'm watching Possessed and I'm trying to place the lead actor. He seems kind of familiar, but I can't recall any dramas he's been in. Well, duh! He's only been in two dramas and the first, before this role in Possessed, is the young brother in the brilliant drama My Mister. He was absolutely brilliant as the unemployed film director younger brother sharing a cleaning business with his also unemployed other brother in My Mister. Glad to see he is careful about what roles he takes, because it's been almost a year between these two roles. Going back in to start ep. 2 of Possessed because I expect great things just because of his presence.
I can't believe the person who wrote Chief Kim (a funny and genius masterpiece) turns out to be the same person…
.........or the Good Doctor (which ha also been adapted for both American and Japanese audiences) and all of the God Quizzes! Dude is a freakin genius!
Park Won Sook is one of favorite elder actors. She has taken a hiatus recently, so it's good to see her back in The Last Empress. Do y'all remember her from Coffee Prince? But her best performance was as the mother from hell in "Hundred Year Inheritance." She chewed up the scenery and spit it out in every scene -- and just stole that drama from all the other actors! Love her!
It's a shame that these Asian actors have to go to their home countries to pursue acting careers. Let's hope that change is coming on that front seeing that 2018 was a decent year (could have been better) for Asian actors.
There are some Goblin vibes, particularly when he disappears and reappears, but the story seems to have more "The Love Knot: His Excellency’s First Love " vibes.
