It's crazy to see a drama hovering around a 7.8 mdl rating for most of its run and then rocketing to an 8.3+ at…
For me it was a 10/10 from the first to last episode and like so many other really good dramas with low ratings here, it was probably done with malicious intent. I find the ratings for dramas on the streaming planforms like Viki & IQIYI to be a much more accurate indicator, but I don't let ratings influence whether I will watch a drama or not, otherwise I would have missed watching some really great dramas.
LOVED LOVED LOVED this drama so much and one of the best I have watched in quite awhile and very rare to find a drama where there was nothing I disliked about it as it was so so good. Phenomenal mains and support casts with really great performances by all and the pairing of the exceptional FL & ML couldn't have been better and their totally adorable sweetheart daughter was the icing on the cake and what an exceptionally talented little actress she is. So hope there will be a Season 2 as there is still a lot to work with.
There is definitely something wrong with people cheering on a psychopathic maniacal killer. What this murderous…
Stop trying to defend morally reprehensible people who cheer on a mass murderer who not only killed innocent people but who was responsible for intentionally flooding the country with illegal firearms to cause mass chaos and killing, injuring and harming of so many people, many of which were innocent victims. You can enjoy a drama without cheering on a mass murderer scumbag villain. Clearly, people who cheer on this type of villain lack a moral compass.
There is definitely something wrong with people cheering on a psychopathic maniacal killer. What this murderous…
I disagree with your statement that people "cannot differentiate fiction from reality until their frontal lobe is fully developed after the age of 28". Children start learning to separate fact from fiction from an early age (3-5yrs) and by the time they reach early adolescence (10-14yrs), they have acquired enough knowledge and maturity for discerning fiction from reality similar to that of an adult.
I agree that "even good characters are unrealistic" and the ML's role in this show stretched credibility to a farcical level.
also, why are we all cheering for the bad guy? what's wrong with us..
There is definitely something wrong with people cheering on a psychopathic maniacal killer. What this murderous scum did could in no way be justified or invoke any sympathy or empathy for him because of what happened to him as a child. Maybe if he confined his revenge just to the people that were responsible for his childhood trauma, then perhaps there could be some sympathy and empathy for him, but he not only murdered innocent people himself, but was responsible for causing the death of so many other innocent people. People cheering on murderous scum like this are sick and fuc*ed up individuals.
Hahaa yes, at first I thought the ML was the toxic one but now I too find FL is too immature for this relationship.…
I think the HR Manager would make a great partner for Luke, she seems to be a much better match all round for him. She is very attractive, classy, intelligent, mature and wouldn't take any shit from Luke and would keep him in line. If only these authors and screen writers would create FL roles that are much better matches with their ML from the get go.
The FL is pissing me off more and more with each episode. I am up to Ep 12 halfway thru this ep and I am dropping this drama as I just cannot stand her anymore. FFS Luke needs a woman, not an immature girl playing silly games.
I watched this drama as I am a huge fan of He Yu and I really really enjoyed it as both Leads gave phenomenal performances and their red hot chemistry was so palpable with every look, touch and emotional portrayals.
The FL's character's required her to grow up from a bratty, spoilt, hormonal adolescent into a young woman, so there were some annoying immature antics but these were offset by some cute and mature antics as well as expressing a diverse emotional range and I thought Esther Yu was incredible in this role.
The more I see of the ML, He Yu, the more impressed I am with his superb acting skills and he is so charismatic with a compelling presence and his sensuality and sexiness is off the charts, lol. He was spectacular as the ML with a stunning performance and my oh my some of those very sensual love scenes with Esther were unforgettable and I was very envious of Esther, lol.
Really liked this drama but gosh it is so annoying when a really good drama is spoilt by script writers making a very likeable & skilled FL character do reckless, stupid and dumb things, that detract from an otherwise really great performance by the FL. Loved the ML's fabulous performance as well and the understated chemistry between the FL & ML so suited their personas and there was a very comfortable lovely feeling between them. I also really loved 2nd FL A Sheng's very impressive performance and this actress, Zhang Kai Ying, is so stunning and talented and the rest of the main cast's performances were excellent, as were many of the very talented support cast.
I started watching this drama a couple of weeks ago and right from the first episode, I felt there was something off with it, the acting seems almost frenzied and amatuerish from many of the cast & the production just doesn't cut it for me. I stopped watching it after Ep3, left it for awhile and then picked it up again for another episode or 2 before dropping it again for same reason and rinse repeat. I have just finished Ep 9 and I am now dropping it as the acting, particularly by the ML & his brother is doing my head in. I am actually a fan of ML and have watched and enjoyed a number of his historical dramas so I am quite shocked at his frenzied acting in this drama which is bordering on the ridiculous over the top and don't even get me started on the FL. Very disappointed overall in the drama.
His Grandmother, the Empress Dowager, as she mistakenly thought he was the current Emperor's son, but he was the Emperor's brother's son. The Emperor was raised by the Empress Dowager but she wasn't his mother, but the former Emperor, her husband, was his father and she blamed the current Emperor for her son's death.
Her own son, former Crown Prince Qian is the father of the current Crown Prince Hua Yong and he was raised secretly as the son of the current Emperor and the Emperor loved him more than his own sons due to the Emperor's affection and strong bond with his brother, former Crown Prince Qian who was killed in battle.
Hua Yong's mother died in childbirth essentially after receiving news her husband, Crown Prince Qian, Hua Yong's father, had been killed in battle. The current Emperor effectively stole the role of Emperor from Hua Yong as he covered up Hua Yong's birth by saying he died along with his mother at birth and he organised the killing of all the attendants/witnesses at the birth of Hua Yong and then claimed that Hua Yong was his own child from his consort/concubine. He did this as he wanted to be Emperor, as his brother former Prince Qian had educated him on what was required to be an Emperor so he became the current Emperor and made Hua Yong the Crown Prince, so he would effectively end up becoming the Emperor at some stage, but unfortunately his own grandmother poisoned him, without knowing he was Crown Prince Qian's son and her grandson. She only found out when the current Emperor explained the chain of events on his deathbed.
I loved the ML (He Yu) in his role as he was Prince "Charming" personified. Gloriously shameless in his pursuit of the woman he loved as time was of the essence. The more she rebuffed him, the more audacious he became and his tenacity finally paid off, lol. Awesome performance by He Yu and no doubt has endeared himself to a legion of new fans. Also really enjoyed the FL's performance as well as the cold, strong, intelligent woman who despite her initial steadfast resistance to Prince Charming's shameless wooing, finally succumbed. I really liked this drama overall with great performances by leads and a very talented support cast.
why do seemingly intelligent women do incredibly DUMB things, ugggggggggggh Eps 23/24. Where are the life saving/alert devices Yan Chi gave her?????????? FFS so frustrating to watch this crap playout
Just finished Episode 23 and am loving how shameless Cui Jin Bai is in pursuing his love interest, cracks me up and he is giving the Crown Prince a run for his money on being shameless. Love both these guys and the roles they are playing in this drama and hope to see both of them in more historicals in the future as this genre really seems to suit them.
Really enjoying this this drama thus far. FL is a favourite of mine in historical dramas and she is doing a great job nailing the cold and aloof persona of her character. The ML is very impressive as the crown prince and I really love him in this role and find him very charming and endearing.
Just finished Ep16 and it is hilarious with Peter Ho, who is phenomenal actor, in his role as FL's gruff boisterous father and when he meets the Crown Prince and spurts out: "your Highness forgive my bluntness, your face is fairer than a maiden's", you are truly not my choice for a son-in-law" LOL and other equally funny lines.
Then if what he said to Crown Prince wasn't funny enough, what he said to his daughter about the Crown Prince had me guffawing when he was criticising how weak and fragile the Crown Prince was and spurted out "With those skinny legs and arms, one push and he's fall over. When I was talking to him I was worried my voice was too loud and that I might scare him into fainting" LOL. Have replayed these scenes with Peter Ho a few times as they give me such a good laugh/
Also loving the 2nd couple and looking forward to how that develops. Off to watch some more episodes.
Then you can watch The legend of Rosey clouds, same vibe
Yep I will definitely be watching this drama as I had already added it to my watch list a couple of weeks ago & am currently working my way through my list.
I have just finished watching Fated Hearts and I really loved her stellar performance. I have seen her in a number of dramas and she is a very accomplished actress, but Fated Hearts is my favourite of her performances.
