What the Kentucky Fried ffffffffff 😆 That trailer is amazingly weird. I'll be watching for AJH. I'm convinced he could do a role with a trash can over his head and I'd find him adorable.
The way Ge Yang carries himself and his look has huuuuge David Bowie vibes. I'm not saying he looks just like…
Agreed. He has a unique blend of boyish/impish humour and what my grandma would call "an old soul" in his eyes, like he knows much more about the world than the cute persona lets on. It's appealing, probably because very few actors get to show both sides this way throughout a whole drama. He makes a character feel complete, not like a cutout.
According to my completed list here on MDL, I have watched 89 Kdrama/Cdrama series. Twenty minutes ago, I finished this one for the first time, my 90th series. After blowing my nose and washing my face, I immediately went back and downgraded nearly everything on my list because they could not compare to this masterpiece. My heart hurts, it's so beautiful. I'm never going to get over this story, I can tell. And the soundtrack... there are now two more songs on the short list of music that makes me cry at their opening. If this had been my first drama, I'm not sure when I'd have found the strength to watch the other 89. But I want to do it all over again, perhaps the perfect complement to a story about starting over even though something hurts.
Watch him in "See You Tomorrow." He's the absolute cutest. Every time he's on screen, I end up wearing a big grin. He's even cuter and funnier than in "When I Fly Toward You." Such a little doll.
She's great in Jia Jia's Lovely Journey! Playing a tiger mom can't be easy even in the best circumstances, but she had to play the character who came to several realisations about her life and decided to "do different." It was a semi-comic character, but a nuanced role, and she nailed it.
I'm watching Jia Jia's Lovely Journey right now and her intro scene is so cute. She's adorable, like a little sister. I hope we see her more often! She seems like a lot of fun.
I'm only on episode 5 of Forever Love and he's won me over completely. He's a good actor, and he's adorable in the role. I hope we see more of him in the future. His smile lights up his whole face, like a little kid. It's adorable.
Stealth dimples. Someday I'm going to be watching him entirely unprepared and POW! he's gonna get me with them. I hope he gains a lead role soon. He's been fantastic in everything I've seen from him. He's been very natural even when carrying more melodramatic roles. He doesn't let it turn into parody.
I've played with paper dolls with more personality than most of these characters. I guess the hype was because it was the first to use a lot of CGI or gaming world storyline. The female lead character was the most useless girl I think I've ever seen in a Cdrama, and that's saying a lot. The male lead character was smug and bossy. The whole thing felt like a 12-year old's fantasy. "Love Scenery" is what brought me here and I should have probably just stayed content with it (I adored it) instead of looking at what people were recommending to watch after it.
His progression from Love O2O to Meet Yourself is astonishing. He's matured as an actor while somehow retaining boyish charm. I think he's one to watch, and I hope we see him for many years to come. I look forward to his future performances.
He's very funny in "Meet Yourself" at times. But he also plays that troubled character so well that you start to really feel protective of him instead of just laugh at him. His performance in "Go Ahead" remains my standard, of course, not only for his acting but for how fathers should be played on the screen. He's a master at subtle facial expressions that give you a window into the character's mind. Just a wonderful actor all around. I hope we have many more years of enjoying Tu Song Yan on screen.
The end of episode 2 just had me rolling on the ground. "Uncle, jaiho!" sent me off my chair with laughter. I love Xiaoju so much, I want to be her BFF.
If he doesn't get a leading romance role soon, I'm going to lose my mind. He's a fantastic comedic actor and despite the fierceness of this profile photo he has very kind eyes and a sweet smile. He'd be absolutely believable in a boy-next-door ML role.
I finished the series last night. I can only say: WOW. I'm not usually a fan of cop dramas or medical dramas, but this one caught me up in the exciting and heartbreaking worlds of public servants and how amid all the chaos they find and develop strong relationships, both romantic and friendships.
Things that impressed me:
* A real-shaped FL. She wasn't a too-thin paper doll dressed up in crazy outfits every other scene. Her BFF wore trendy and cute outfits but they weren't over the top either. This lent an air of realism to the show. The FL kept joking about being chubby but honestly she is just healthy-looking. It's sad that I was so impressed by this, an indictment on the representation in Cdrama.
* A ML who shares his successes and his burdens with his friends in an open and caring way. He also learns to share with the FL instead of remaining stoic. Absolutely refreshing.
* SML is a comic genius. Superb timing in every line.
* SFL was a bit annoying at first but we're supposed to only see that. As SML watches and learns more about her, we do too, and she's really lovely. By the end I was sad I didn't have a BFF like her.
* Third couple was a gentle story with a sad background, but we get hopeful along with them that past mistakes can be rectified. This is very powerful and believable and many relationships in life do have this sort of hesitancy and sorrow. By the end of their story, I was so incredibly happy for them. I'm not sure I've ever really cared about any third couple in any drama ever, so hats off to the writers and actors for pulling this one to the fore.
* Even though there was a bit of recycled footage (not counting flashbacks), the action (both police and medical) was very well done and the production aspects were obviously carried out meticulously. Of course it was a bit Hollywoodized, but unless you blow your production budget on extras and backgrounders it's not easy to demonstrate the often crowded chaos of emergency situations. The production decisions made in this series were, IMO, the correct ones. I'm impressed with the result that doesn't feel like an elementary school play.
* The main romance felt real. There's fascination, hope, confusion, tentative reaching out then withdrawing, then complete surrender and falling into one another's lives. It's beautiful to see on the screen. The actors had great chemistry, their sweetness and playfulness erected a sort of fence around themselves as a couple, so their moments together were protected from the chaotic world.
I'd like to run the script over with a Jeep.
