There's a really random irrelevant subtitle detail that doesn't mean much it kinda bothered me. In episodes 27/28, when Liuniang was confronting Ziqi and showing his mother's full backstory, she kept calling him "Zhao Ziqi" but the subtitles only showed 'Ziqi'. It was really significant for her to call him that because that is his true identity, and she's the first and only person to call him that name. In the episodes where Ziqi finally finds out who he is and his parents, he is called his true full birth name, one that's never been said out loud before. It really completes the plotline of him discovering himself. I'm a little sad that the subtitles didn't add that minor but important detail.
I'm not too mad about them not showing Fu Zhou in the final scene tbh. He called her name out with enthusiasm and she responded with a smile, it's clear they recognized each other. We just have to fill in the gaps and imagine how things will go from there. Someone theorized that the drama didn't show Zhou at the end to make the final scene truly be focused on Miaomiao. She is the main character after all, she began this story, so she'll be the one to end it too. I also felt like in the later episodes Miaomiao became less of a main character and more of a love interest when originally it was the opposite. So I see it as a way for the writers to give back the spotlight to Miaomiao.
Remember how Mu Yao heard a woman's singing during her first kiss scene with Fuyi? She thought that was the Resentful Woman, and it's the same singing that Ziqi heard in the flashbacks, when Rong'er was singing to her son. I think they're going to go with the whole "demons aren't bad" message and reveal that even though Rong'er is the Resentful Woman, the real villain of the show is actually Mu Yao's father. The signs have been pointing all along that he wasn't as great as Yao thought he was
Do you guys think there's any relevance to Ziqi's mother having Mu as her surname? They've emphasized the importance of the Mu family the entire drama, but if Mu Rong'er is a literal full blood demon, how could she be related to a family of demon cultivators?
Though I agree the last couple episodes haven't been as great as how they were in the beginning, I think episode 27 completely makes up for it. It basically gave us the entire backstory and helped fill in the gaps of what we have already learnt. Ziqi's mother's story had me in tears the entire time, my heart breaks for her and Ziqi. And I am so glad Ding Yuxi took on this role instead of Chen Feiyu, it was made for him.
I decided to watch 23 with 24 today and I must admit certain plot points are choppy but I'm still thoroughly enjoying…
Ziqi knew beforehand that he was from Qilin (?) Mountain because of the memory flashback he got. Then the dream sequence showed that the Marquis went to Qilin Mountain and fell in love with a demon. That, paired with the timeline when it happened and Ziqi's age must have been a reasonable guess to figure out he was the son. But I too am surprised the revelation was so calm and anticlimactic. Maybe the revelation of his mother will be more dramatic.
I think the more attention a dating show gets, the more pressure the participants get to couple up with someone and have their 'happy ending'. I'm not sure how well it was received in China, but Heart Signal S6 was quite popular internationally because of the couples. I can definitely imagine the pressure they felt of the last season's success and consequently, were more cautious of how they behaved on camera. So some agreed to couple up with the person interested in them to give viewers some cute moments, and because they may get hated on for rejecting. Only after they leave the cabin and actually can be themselves can they finally 'end things' because after the filming is over, nothing is holding them together other than true feelings. And you can't force that. If you do, the most you're getting is just some extra likes on social media.
Of course, having real couples come out the show is nice to see because it makes you feel like their sweet moments were actually authentic. I saw someone say this on the HS6 page, just enjoy the show purely for what it has and don't focus too much on which couples actually lasted in real life afterwards. Enjoy the heart fluttering interactions and move on, instead of trying to analyze if they were real or not. And that includes sending hate to the participants for 'tricking' their fans.
So why didn’t the Pop Shy group have any type of uniformity with their clothes? Every group did but theirs.…
bae173 still is an existing group, but the company that manages them are terrible at promoting them, so most of the members keep going on survival shows to get more recognition
This has my fav type of romance, going from dislike to hidden soft glances and acts of service disguised with a mean attitude. I absolutely loved when Ziqi glanced at Miaomiao, grabbed her bag and walked away without a word. It's so much more satisfying when the affection grows slowly, and I love how Ziqi still tries to hide it by being fake mean to her.
Here to ask abt the IU group drama. If the director had not told Lee Eun Seo he shud do the intro it looks like…
Yeah I initially understood him when it came to having the intro verse and wanting to have more parts to have more exposure, but he kinda crossed the line when he started making snarky comments on Binghua and Seokhee's singing instead of being respectful and directly giving them advice, if advice was actually needed.
Mu Yao actually looks animated and quite literally unreal. I think it's the eye makeup and the natural shape of her eyes, it makes her look like she's actually a game character, which fits the theme of the drama lol. Whenever she's onscreen I can't stop staring at her because she's so pretty and has that ai style beauty. She was a great casting decision for the "main" female lead character.
I'm currently watching Heart Signal Season 7 China and there's a participant that looks like YW and I am traumatized.…
Omg he reminded me of him too, but his looks are the most my type out of the men there lol. He's a much, much better guy than YW don't worry. Completely different personality.
Haven't seen the Leyan-Qingya situation yet because I don't have VIP, but I don't think we should be so quick to judge or hate any of these contestants, including Xiaomi and Muchen. We only get shown the short footage edited by staff, with music and slow motion added to dramatise things. They are in a very unusual situation after all-- living in a house with 11 other strangers and knowing everyone is there to date. Some people react in a way that's not perfect, but you have to remember these people are human too, and sometimes emotions cause you to behave in a less than ideal way. They don't deserve to be getting attacked for things like this when there are people who have done much worse-- literal crimes, and they get to live a normal celebrity life. From what I see, Leyan and Xiaomi both behaved like that from a place of hurt, and Muchen simply struggles with expressing himself. Does not make them bad people. The only participant I have truly disliked on a dating show is the infamous person from My Sibling's Romance, but even then I won't go out of my way to send hate.
