Yes, at the beginning of the show we saw that she was dating her ex-crush, but that was it! Everything else that did or did not happen between FL and ML was FL herself. She was standing in her own way and not the best friend or even SFL. Did I like what both her friends did ? No, but it has nothing to do with MLs and FLs relationship, therefore she wasn't the obstacle between them. Although you meant GA, even there FL was to blame, cuz she pushed ML to her and made weird assumptions about ML and his feelings..
Don't get me wrong, I get it, that FLs insecurities were the result of both her friends dating behind her back and she felt betrayed by her friend. But i wouldn't call it an obstacle, but she had to learn to deal with it and move on.... character development etc..

Well its kinda similar, but imho FL was more annoying in Season 2.. But i rated it higher than Season 1 cuz it doesnt take her till last episode..
There is this Ning Fei / Xue Ning guy, he is really annoying.. or better to say, a coward ( MLs stepbrother ) ...
ML got abused by his parents because of him, FL and her bff's pamper this dude.. its really annoying, he lives with them.. and he has a thing for FL.. so its again the same bs, even FL is not interested in him, but it got me so mad for what he did back then and never told MLs mother the truth.
It annoyed me how FL cared about this prick and we got the typical " just friends " bs again.
Its happy ending, no its not a slow burn anymore, more like normal cdramas regarding cpl time.
