You should probably move the fact you watched a 16 hour drama in two hours to the disclaimer section. I think…
My opinion is not intended to be an offence trigger for anyone or upset anyone just because it's not the same as others because of my individuality, that's what I meant to put in the disclaimer. And so I did. As for what you said about taking it seriously because the rant is due to my fastforwarding, it's just the opposite. I fasforwarted because its quality of being rantworthy in the first place, that is for me. Secondly, that I had to FF, and finished it in 2 hours because I didn't feel it was worth my 16 hours is part of my opinion. Whether to take the part "it doesn't deserve my 16 hours to make a different opinion about it" seriously is the readers choice. For me to watch it for its 16 hours, I should have liked the story and interested in how it unfolds slowly. Since I am not getting paid or entertained by watching it, i feel I don't owe my 16 hours to it. And my shortened time of watching is saying enough how I felt the drama is. So readers can choose to take it or leave it. My "rant" I mean.

LOL! I had a very similar review , though I kind of liked the show till the 14th episode (guilty! whoops!) but…
Lol! i am guilty too of finishing it for the leads despite getting mad over it. It's like how the girls stayed with their abusive bfs here. Yes. That making light of the stalker fan bit was too much.
Disclaimer: Not intended to trigger anyone, just to release my triggers from this show. This is just my opinion. I have different taste. I get it if no one agrees with it. That’s why we are all different people.
Sorry I had to be brutal because it hurt me. And this is gonna loooong.
It’s so infuriating that it’s funny!
A crime against actors like Tae Joon and Soo Young and all the actors involved because they all are awesome actors stuck in this sticky script together like we are in covid. Hope tae joon gets only ml roles in brilliant scripts henceforth as karma for getting through this atrocity.
Hoo Joon is a stinking trash who has some humanity lying somewhere in the center but that really shouldn’t turn someone on considering the barbwire around it. But since it’s the amazing Tae joon, I tried to endure.
Geun Young is kdrama quintessential (actually currently they are bringing in better character models like hers in Run On) doormat, who is on the verge of getting tossed into the trash for over abuse, to not just the ml but to everyone. But since it’s the charming Soo Young, I clenched my fist and jaws and drank a lot of juice and kept staring at the screen.
FF FF FF…
Watched the whole thing in 2 hours. Even that’s too long since I still feel the aftermath.
The writer… Oh WOW! There’re 2! One’s a female and another indeterminable due to lack of a picture and my understanding of korean name genders. I mean, girl what were you thinking!? Were you… even… Thinking?
The writer(s) seems to know how to write. The story was shitty but the operation was pretty decent. They delivered what they wanted to without getting it messy and tipsy like a million other good concepts gone missing in writing translation… aka. Abyss. The writer(s) here knew exactly what they wanted and presented it well. Shit, but well shat for me to understand and get inside my skin.
BTW, was it written in the era of Fullhouse and the sorts!? Seems so.
I know I Know, It's just a drama, so chill… but sorry, i can’t. I just watched Youth of may and it was based in early 80’s in a hellish situation of human rights violation and unrest and still the dudes aren’t acting this moody with the girls like they have been getting skinned by Mazikeen in hell for the eternity and they aren't happy about it.
What time is this? Seriously! Ml getting to act like trash and fl eating sh*t up.
And honestly even the supporting characters are peeps acting like poop. The bi*ch boss lady was the least of my pissed mood reasons. At least she was playing the unapologetic b*tch. That’s so much better than those reality show team — OH MY GOSH! How can they make her wipe the floor and giggle behind the camera, play such fan-triggering pranks on her and then laugh! And the friends — disloyal pieces of junk, making friends with the dude who’s the reason for their friend’s torment and acting all hoo hoo haa haa with him. The parents — not poop but weird. Just funny-pretending to be angry with him and beat him to make up for their daughter’s problems. In normal circumstances, they would’ve forbidden her to even interact with him or let him be spam in her incoming calls. But this is lollapaloozaland. You get some hot guys and everyone walks scot free.
And the fl obviously falls in love with the ml in spite of the insults. I swear, i felt the writer would have have the fl clean the dirt of the ml’s undershoe with her tongue if they were not afraid of getting serious flak for it.
Showing 2 unhealthy abusive relationships as first couple and second couple. The fl with 0 self-respect. Ml with 0 remorse. Everyone acting like di*ks, out to get the fl, but she’s upset for 3 secs and then goes back presenting herself for some more. Never taking an opportunity to give some crap back too even when she has opportunities, and shown feisty. She keeps saying sorry to others while getting tormented by others. All Males and Females against one female. And all of these played as lighthearted fun. There are constant funny tunes inserted to gaslight me into believing that all abuse and everything here is intended just for lolz.
Group therapy!
So many serious issues, all funny, but. Like that psycho fan stalking and forcing herself into their apartment and threatening GY for letting her meet GJ, but LMAO all’s chill. She’s adorable and realizes GY is an awesome aonni so no therapies and restraining orders needed.
I mean cucumber has nothing on these people! So jealous! I think i should change my pov and look at it with a chill lens.
*trying really hard* *fail*
All this torture just to watch Choi Tae Joon and Choi Soo Young. I am gonna rinse my palate with Hospital playlist since I can’t do it with acid.
Oh! upside of all these, I didn’t feel bored. That gotta count for something, no?
Episode 14-- Lee Geun Young: I don’t care what he thinks about me. If he misunderstood me, I have to explain and apologize to him.
You go girl! That’s the truest love! Your parents prolly brought you up with enough love that now the only thing you need is to spinelessly... i mean selflessly give it back to somebody else, be it your former abuser, without worrying about getting the love and respect back. Don’t love yourself, your poor parents are already there for it. You just keep loving someone else. Yahoo!
I can honestly say I stuck this drama out but it’s not for me. I mentioned in previous post about the mental…
word, chingu word! I am choking to death with the whole "disrespecting a girl and treating her like less than a doormat make the dude so exxxtra oomphlicious" trope and want to stab myself for still going on because of Soo young and Tae jun. Irony! Things we do for love... *sigh*
I saw him in 30-sai made Dotei Da... , then in Alice and then in Your eyes tell (all different kind characters) and i want so so much more of him as a lead in a lot of dramas. he's a gorgeous looking amazing actor, versatile at that.
I was so excited for this one because of Minki and Nana together but the comments are choking up all my excitement. Why man why? you have to write bad sh*t writernim with cast so good! T-T
Song kang dancing... Song kang dancing...Song kang dancing... Song kang dancing gracefully... Song kang dancing beautiful like an angel... Song kang dancing... And i can't breathe... i am dead!
The smile of happiness on Park In hwan ajjusssi's face while watching the ballet stage performance is everything! The whole auditorium on one side and his expression of happiness on another. I was thinking in that scene, how happy i will feel to see this kind of happiness on someone's face because of me. The sincerity and beauty of it is worth all the bone crushing hard work in the world.
It was pretty unsatisfying in spite of the gradual untying of the mystery. I am fine with the original ending. The whole show itself lacked something. The only emotion i felt for a character here was for Bai Ying. She was so obsessed with getting a human life, love, children family that it turned her into a monster and finally ended with her perishing without anything. I felt sad when she said while dying, so this is how I end.
The female characters were all well written and not one dimensional. Really loved that about this show. There were some good underlying messages in the whole story though somehow it felt it needed better handling to be all-round interesting. The actors were good. ZBB is always awesome. The cinematography was gorgeous. I skipped a lot yet didn't seem to have missed anything. All in all, not as i was expecting when i rushed to start it with 3 episodes still raw.
The trailer gave me Hotel de luna vibe and they did make the main couple's dynamic similar. There was no real romance just a super underplayed lovestory (which is different from De luna where the love story was strong and sad throughout) that was there i think for making believable the last three episodes of Qin Fang waiting for Si teng and hoping and trying for her coming back. Honestly i kind of lost interest after Si teng and Bai ying died or scattered away. There was a dreamlike scene where she and Xi feng was talking about something which i didn't understand because no subs. But i wasn't trying even to understand. The mystery of the story was the thing that kept me till the 27th episode and after all was out i was out too. The love story for me was not convincing enough to wait to watch the last three episodes. I mean Xi feng was such a darling kind hearted dude that he was sincerely determined in helping everyone even if they were not his lover.
Sally Jing and Bin Bin looked like a beautiful hot painting! So gorgeous!
Sorry I had to be brutal because it hurt me. And this is gonna loooong.
