16k viewers in just the first few days of airing, and an 8.8 rating at that?! And it's a modern drama, not historical, xianxia, wuxia or even xuanhuan?! This is the first time I saw a chinese modern drama that is loved like this, because most well-rated dramas these days get low ratings at first. I'm now convinced to watch it (after hesitating for days 🫠) during my free time this week.
I knew it, I had a feeling it would be so good just by judging the synopsis and the first few episodes. I'm so happy it did not disappoint, and I was able to watch this xianxia during my free times despite being busy lately. That was a satisfying ending, thank you LDT for providing us the comfort and joy even for just a short period time! <3
Again, I have said multiple times before that I really don't like amnesia tropes in drama land - BUT OH MY, the amnesia trope in LDT is so well-done despite the angst and pain it initially brought to us viewers. I love how this period of time still feels like a must for their relationship to grow and to better understand each other. I initially thought that Yi Shui and Ran Ran's relationship was already almost perfect, being able to sacrifice their own cores and roots for each other and clearly expressing unconditional love that is truly rare to find, given with their immortal identities. I quite didn't expect this arc to still add another layer in the unplumed depth of their love, so I found myself wanting to see more of this arc. 🥹
Ga Min is literally the combination of some well-known heroes at this point. 😆 Their last fighting scenes really felt like the webtoon came out in real life! I love it ~

After finishing the drama, my mind is still hanging on it... I enjoyed almost every bit of it. The stories of each person were truly a roller-coaster journey of life. I initially thought the ending would be a mess because of some comments, but it's okay because I actually love how it ended! Though I would say it was not the best the writer could possibly do, but it still lived up to my expectations.
With that, there is only one question remaining in my head, and that is: What is actually the unfinished business that Madam Li has in Bianjing? I thought it would be addressed properly later on, I mean, it would be explicitly revealed. But if the drama is just telling that the matters she wanted to be resolved in Bianjing is only letting her daughters marry, then I am a bit disappointed because it looks like they made it quite a mystery at first (though it doesn't change the fact that I love the series). Or, did everyone forget it was a part of the plot? Nǐ mén, what are your thoughts on this?
