A strange one

It's hard to give an opinion on this show... I liked it but at the same time I didn't.

First lets set something straight, the CGI was really bad, people saying that's very good haven't watched a proper CGI movie. While I know that the budget in such shows is not so massive as Hollywood it's no excuse to use bad CGI and call it good in current days. In the first episodes the monsters looked really fake, but as the show continued they were "fixed" a little to look more mashed in the scenery and with proper lighting.

The story was interesting... but at the same time dumb. How can I describe it... it's like giving a great script but to people who don't understand how to implement it. The show was trying to be too cool and it felt like it overdid so it actually looked like an elementary kid playing a "hero" game.

So it's really strange... I didn't hate the story but the way it was portrayed was too childish.

The music... I know they love to reuse the same song on k-dramas but I think the specific song selection was not proper for a lot of the "epic" scenes with that "warriors" song on repeat. Each time I heard it, it killed the scene for me...

The ending of the first part (I assume) was all over the place, so I don't consider it to be a "good" one.

While I don't consider it a bad show if I take in consideration the bad CGI, bad director vision and the strange music choice I can't give it more than 6/10, while I have given 6 to a lot worse shows than this and I don't consider this one to be equally bad to them.

Or to break it in other terms, as a SciFi show is really bad, but as a kdrama is OK.

Overrated

This show was going to be great if it ended at episode 6... but it didn't.

First thing to clarify, I hate the kid in this show, his character was the most annoying and was waiting someone to beat the crap of him for good or push him in front of a car so that there is less screen time for him and I didn't have to listen to him anymore. Maybe it's too much but each time I saw him I had the urge to drop the show right there.

Now that we clarified the hate relationship with that character lets continue...

The first 6 episodes was interesting and I was enjoying the show but afterwards everything was going downhill.

The show was trying too much to make each episode some kind of a turning point... I hate him, no I love him, then I hate him again and I love him once again... this game is played till the rest of the show and it was annoying as hell.

I never had a show that had me switch the character I hate the most after each episode (except the kid, he was number one in my hate list).

Pretty much the shows was trying the push the agenda that all men are cheating pigs and women are stupid enough to keep loving/forgiving them nonetheless... maybe it's overgeneralization, but that's the logic that the show was trying to sell us.

And that ending... oh my god... saying that it was stupid will be a compliment to the movie industry. I had to watch a 15min repeat of a whole scene from the previous episode just to finish it... and when I did there was one generic and totally stupid ending, where the previous episode ending (without the last stupid part) would have been a better ending point.

The saving grace was maybe the acting which was really good but no acting can save a bad screen writer.

So how did I score it:

1-6 epsiodes - 9/10
7-10 epsiodes - 7.5/10
11-15 epsiodes - 7/10
16 episode - 6/10

So the final verdict is 6/10 and I wouldn't recommend it to watch it.

Stupid AF

This is a show that relies only on stupidity to make you laugh, which is a hit or a miss for this kind of shows. It was a huge miss for me, the stupidity level of the show was too much for me to handle.

So we have a detective title with zombie protagonist, which doesn't do actual detective work and his only power of "smell" in most cases is not used... so he is pretty much a worthless character that has no purpose in the show other than the fact that he is a zombie.

The plot of the show... you guess it... it's really stupid as well. We have two plots where the first was barrable but the second one was on a stupidity level on it's own.

The main purpose of the show is to make stupid plots and unrelated stories from stupid to more stupid to make you laugh. So to be more precise it relies on "dumb humor" to make you laugh.

The most annoying part was the two unrelated stories that they put, which whole purpose was to be stupid AF to make a few cheap laughs from the viewer... but they were painfully stupid to even make you laugh... they were just annoying to watch through.

So the whole premise of the show is to be as stupid as possible in order to make you laugh... so I find this to be mostly teen oriented, since I don't see how can this be funny for anyone else.

This show is not for you if you are looking for:
* detective drama
* romance
* proper story
* epic zombie fights

So if you are looking for something stupid to make you laugh (instead of watching memes) then you can try this one... but I think that the meme section in 9gag has a better chance to make you laugh than this abomination of a show.

Slow start but nice finish

To be honest I was considering to drop it up until around episode 6, the story was all over the place and to be really honest I didn't understood the plot at all.

Now that I finished it I'm not sure that I understood all plot points as well... I'm not sure if they were too complex to grasp them or too stupid to waste my time on them...

Another confusing part was the constant time skipping . You were not sure when a specific scene is happening now or is a preview for a later stage. There were multiply times when they did this for scenes that I consider OK to be used for (those who you want to know more about) but for scenes that you don't care at all as well. So they figured out that this approach adds suspense to the show... but when your scene doesn't add any suspense it's useless filling and it becomes annoying.

The most cringe part of the show was that annoying gesture with their finger... I know that it was the name of the show, but come on... don't add it after each conversation... it started to become so cringey that it was killing the acting and dialog.

After episode 6 the show started to pick up the pace and to form a concrete plot of some sort and it became interesting for me.

The ending was passable... maybe a bit too overly happy... but it was ok.

About the acting... I will probably get hate for this, but I'm not huge fan of Yoona acting... I felt that her portray in K2 was a little lifeless (but I considered that to be her character there) but I'm seeing the same acting in this show as well... it's a little bland and I didn't see her stand out from the other male/female cast. So while I will not say that her acting is bad... it's a little bit too similar to her K2 role and I wanted to see a little bit more from her. This is of course a personal opinion so take it with a grain of salt.

So if you are looking for a conspiracy show that lacks romance I can recommend it , it's a nice time waste... but it wont probably enter your top list.

Boring as hell

I don't understand why this show has such a high rating and so many positive reviews.

The show was so boring that I couldn't stand it. I dropped at episode 12 and picked it up again to give a change... should have dropped it at episode 12.

The premise was boring, the characters were uninteresting and you couldn't care less for the story progression.

There was no chemistry between the main cast... The premise of abusive main heroin doesn't sound very appealing for me.

I watched the last episodes while browsing my phone and fast forwarding just to say that I completed it and give it a fair review.

I feel like there was some hype around a specific actor or actress and that's why there is so many 10's reviews, there is no other way to describe why is the rating so artificially inflated.

This goes to one of my worst kdramas that I've watched.

Disappointing

"Hate" is a strong word but I truly hate this drama.

Imagine watching a show just to get to that one scene that they will reveal everything in order to get that tear-jerker at the end... and you get "1 year later" screen skipping all that and topping it with one of the worst endings out there. Well bingo this show is exactly that.

I usually stay away from shows made before 2010 because I find them a bit of lacking and boring to say it simply, but this one had an interesting synopsis so... I gave it a go. Never again!

So what is so wrong with this show?

First the story, while there was an idea, the flow in which was presented was boring and uninteresting.
We have some cheesy scenes like "guy standing in front of the house"... now lets see how many times can we reuse that, once in the sun, once in the dark, once in the rain... we have no more... lets repeat it just for the sake of it. What does it have to do with the story... nothing... but guy standing there will make a good filling for the episode count.

The stupid revenge plot that targeted the wrong person for no reason. The bad acting of some of the cast (but since it's an older show is kind-a a given, the stereotypes where different then). The 4 way love/hate/revenge love cycle loop. The questionable character progression and choices. The boring... ah yep here is the guy in front of the house again... oh plot twist he is not there now, lets stand there thinking why is he not there this time.

And the ending was one of kind, it made me hate the show with burning passion and write a review about it.

I wouldn't recommend this show at all, contrarily to all the positive reviews.

But hey there is an audience for each show, maybe this was not for me... but man I still hate it.

Strong start, awful final episodes

I'm really pissed after watching it. Why? Because the the show was great but after episode 16 it becomes so bad that I was considering to drop it right there.

Everyone points to the bad ending, but I started to fast-forward from episode 19 until the end, so it's actually bad even before the ending.

Let's start wit the good pars.

The acting was great, I can't complain there at all.
The comedy was really good and truly made me laugh outload.
The music fitted the show really nice with the comedy aspects and hit the mark.

Then the turning point for me was episode 17 when the show started to go downhill. (or more like falling in a hole)

Imagine a live version of twitter reenacted in a history drama, but only the gossip part of twitter, that was episode 17 for me. The first time was OK but the second... it was just stupid. And the plot started to rely on that twitter gossip... oh my... how can I describe how stupid it was. We have a saying in my country that describes episode 17 perfectly: "Your sister is a wh*re... now go and explain that you don't even have a sister".

After that we got the "eureka" moment when a specific character figured something out for no specific reason, turned evil and after 2min turned "good"... and after the moment the fast forwarding started for me and I didn't care for the show any more.

There were soo many bad things in the episodes after that, that it's hard to explain it without spoiling something.

It almost seemed that they switched the screen writer at some point, I don't understand how can the same person produce the golden 16 episodes and then sit and sh*t out the rest of them in this state.

Score:
1-16 eps - 9/10
17-20 eps - 4/10

So lets give it a 7/10.

I can't say if I can recommend it or not... it's good but brace yourself some really bad plot points in the end.

It requires perseverance but it's amazing

Let's clarify something, the story of the drama begins in episode 7, everything before that sets the back-story of the main character.

While 6 episodes is a long introduction the payout is greater since there will be almost no flashbacks in the rest of the show. Maybe this is the biggest issue with the show that the introduction is too long instead of gradually filling the viewer with annoying flashbacks.

While the first 6 episodes are not bad, they have nothing to do with the rest of the kdrama tone. Their only purpose is to set the likeness of the main character.

So if you plan to watch it, try to sit through the opening 6 episodes and evaluate the show after watching the show at least until 12 episode and if you are still not invested in it, then skip it.

Now that the above is clear let me say that I hold this drama with high respect. I don't know how many times I've rewatched it, but I keep turning back to it.

While the show is long it has a great story and the cast is amazing. If I have to point something bad is the last 10-15 episodes that didn't add too much value to the show and were kind of useless for me... it almost felt like the show was too popular and they were trying to extend it as much as possible even though that most of the stories were finalized.

The main cast was great, can't give enough props to Im Joo Hwan, Kang So Ra and Shin So Yool, they played their roles outstandingly and so were the rest of the cast.

You will feel all kind of emotions when you watch this show. Each episode adds something new to the show and it's a real joy to keep watching it.

So I can fully recommend it to anyone who is looking for a show that will keep him invested for a long time.

A must watch

I was not part of the hype train when I started, I saw the high rating and decided to give it a shot.

To be honest on the first episode I thought about dropping it because I hate shows where the main actor/actress is being a total asshole for no specific reason, but I stayed and watched a few more episodes and I damn, I'm happy that I did.

### Casting

I think that the acting in this drama was amazing, the story is not something totally original or so ground-breaking, but the acting is the thing that kept you invested in the characters and their story.

I don't think that there is not even one of the main or support cast that I have something bad to say for his/her acting ability.

Only props to all of them, truly enjoyable to watch them play!

### Story

While the story is not something original it felt fresh and was a joy to invest your time and forget about everything.

The only issue I had was with the mother story arc and how was handled by the end, it felt poorly constructed and rushed, but hey, it can't be all perfect.

Other than that the story flowed really well and was really amazing to experience.

The comedy in this show was on point as well as the drama aspect of it, it mashed really well and it's not very often than I can burst laughing in one moment and cry in another one.

### Re-watch

I've reached it least 2-3 times already and specific scenes more than 10 times.

### Overall

I haven't watched too many shows, but I consider this to be at the top 3 for me at the moment.

So I highly recommend it!

It's a "meh" drama

It's one of those dramas that you don't regret watching but you didn't get anything from watching it as well or to say it simple it's a "meh" drama.

## Story:

The story was interesting not unique but interesting, but at some point they started to fill it with useless filling stories just to have something to show. Useless side character romantic plots which they didn't expand on, useless revenge plots that they didn't disclose until the last episode, stupid plot progression and reusing plots over and over again.

Like most k-dramas there were some very questionable decisions made from the characters, but I don't think there is a point in bashing a dead horse since this is present in most kdramas, so it's a given. Blame the screen writers.

To be honest if they stripped the useless stuff it would have been a better drama but the filling was too much to extend it to 20 episodes where probably 12-14 episodes would have been more than enough.

## Cast:

To be honest the casting was OK it was not bad but it wasn't ground breaking as well. For me the gem in the show was Yoo In Young, her acting was the one I took notice and I actually cared for her character the most.

## Rewatch Value:

I don't think that I have a single scene that I would like to rewatch at a later stage. Pretty much the show is watch it and forget about it afterwards.

## Overall:

If you don't have nothing else to watch you can give it a try, but if you expect to be blown away by it -> skip it.

Props to the team behind this show

It's not very often that you see a show that depict a specific idea without butchering it.

As a developer I appreciate the details in this show... why... because it seemed that they actually hired a developer for the show and discussed the terminology and functionality of a lot of the items discussed in the show. While not everything was correct a lot of times it actually made some sense, that is if we compare it to the god awful shows about musical instruments that doesn't even meet the beat not mentioned the correct notes.

As for the show we have the basic ingredients for a standard romantic drama:

* love triangle
* misunderstanding
* tragic plot

That said the story was interesting and enjoyable to watch. Some of the plots were a little to large for their own good but it was a nice balance.

The show was like watching 16 movies one after another, since each episode was around 80minutes... and it seemed that there is no end to each one but in a good way. That said maybe if they decreased the episode count a little it would have been better, since by the end they almost revealed everything and I was starting to wonder what would they show for the last 2-3 episodes.

While I wanted a different conclusion to the love triangle I was OK with the culmination nonetheless.

There were a little too many product placement in a lot of the scenes that the camera specifically panned to a specific product that it became a little too annoying... there are so many times I can see how can a desk go up and down, no need to double take the same scene twice each time.

The actors play was really well done and the music fit the show.

So if you are looking for a wholesome show to relax to, give this one a try.

Not too bad

How to describe this show... it's not bad, but it's not something that I would recommend to anyone.

In the beginning it was interesting but around the middle it became a little boring and it was a chore to continue to watch it.

The story was a bid of a mess, in the beginning it was OK but by the end it was crammed with useless ideas and plots that by the end seemed very stupid or rushed.

Some of the acting was a little bit of questionable... at times it felt a little bit awkward to watch and left a bit more to be desired.

All and all it wasn't so bad that you should skip it by all mean, there is probably a audience for this kind of a show, but maybe don't start watching this one when you are looking for something "interesting" because your previous title wasn't very good.

To say it simple it's one of those shows you watch and forget about.

Heartwarming

A really nice show that melts your heart away.

The story flows really well and the casting is really great.

Got to give props to Kim Ha Neul, her acting was amazing and she was the MVP for me.

I wouldn't go and say that the show was amazing, it had some issues, for example:

* 2-5 minute repeat of the previous episode that included one or two new lines to make it feel new was kind-a of useless, I always skipped the start of each episode
* some scenes that didn't add to the story or plot but were added for some reason
* the daughter love triangle or in this case the love arrow... which didn't make a lot of sense
* the basketball cringe when they were purposely missing the basket by a huge margin

Nonetheless each episode felt fresh and I couldn't wait to watch the next one.

So I can definitely recommend it to anyone who looks for comfy show that you can snuggle and watch comfortably until the end.

Loved it

This was the show that made me realize that my taste in k-dramas is quite different from majority of the users here.

Maybe because my show count was not so massive I didn't find too many cheesy scenes and it felt fresh.

The story grabbed me and it was interesting until the end.

The cast was really good even though that I liked the young version cast a little better, nonetheless it was a good casting choice.

There were some questionable choice made but I keep going back and rewatching it... so it's a win for me.

So I would highly recommend it, but maybe check my list to see if my taste matches yours before you do so.
