As a fan, I admit that it took me 6 years just to finish the last 10 episodes. I was following this drama back then til the end and couldn’t finish it because Chu Ying was just gone one day. Today, I finally decided to commit and like a small percentage of others, I felt the ending just a tiny bit rushed. I think Shi Guang was actually reading the manga in the last episode? on the sofa. That was nice but I wished they could’ve filmed more into that Korean tournament then just fading it into the background. Overall, the excitement, and enjoyment of seeing the trio and their growth journey is still the same as I had back then and hoped they could reunite in some other drama one day.

I know, Liu Qing does that to people. 😂

Ep 12 was fire.

Zhao Xi Xi in costume? hell yh

That scene happened after TZ is supposed to be awake already. I think it’s still too early for ep 25 and it might happen in the next couple of episodes though. Not sure, they look to be seriously investigating all the way into the finale. Let’s hope it’s still there.

My issue is his role. He almost always gets overshadowed by the other 3 who’s always being called upon and doing something. His role is so little.

That didn’t change. That was how it was in the book.

Ep 24
Pei Su to his shixiong ‘I want to be with you, I don’t want to be excluded, it’s not a good feeling’ *pouts*

Tension is rising massively and I am ready for this finale.

Poor TZ is gonna live like a wrapped mummy for a while.

PS comforting LWZ these days is so nice. And they’re shipping XHY and LQ together lol.

Honourable moments for ep 22:

LWZ: Everyone, lets eat hotpot.
*finds the bug* *drowns it in broth* *blames Yiguo*
Yiguo: Meow. *Runs*

LWZ: Ah, my partners car was stolen. help me find it. *everyone turns their head around and stares*

LWZ: Pei Su, stop rubbing a hole into your glasses.

PS facing LWZ: We may never reach that point.

PS: Get in with your low 4 digit salary?

DJ: *speaks in dialect* aiya, how long can I keep this up?

DJ: *farts* *having a stomach crisis and will explode in the car soon* *tasers the man after doing ‘business’*

PS remembering his mom who helped him from his father. Gosh she was so strong to hold out this long.

XHY: *about to smash the shit out of the guy*
LQ: *tasers the man* I will kill you if I trust to help the wrong person.

DJ: Can we trust the person you want to use? Boss, you should stop him.
LWZ: Dad, help me with something.
DJ: *shuts up* *smiles and gives thumbs up*

Ep 23 was full of action wow. dedicated to Du Jia and those who fell victim to the murderer. the scene where LWZ saluted to DJ and DJ who fought to the end was powerful.

LWZ picking up the drone being competitive to DJ then almost dying straight after. damn.

That bomb scene could have been better if it was real.

They improv this bomb scene to LWZ disarming the bomb itself which I was a little surprised about. what I didn’t like was the obvious cgi, even the car driving through all that clouds of dust didn’t even have much dirt on it.

PS seems to handle seeing blood a little better now though.

Ha, no one is escaping writing a reflection now. Mr big boss is angry.

Now the interrogation at the end was real tensive. Look who PS keeps looking at.

Someone is finally checking over the department camera issue. I wished they could have stuck with LWZ handling this though than PS being the one discovering it.

PS: I want to curse the shit out of this guy for trying to risk his life but didn’t because the situation was too urgent.

(Edit: Did anyone notice PS cooking the meat in the hotpot then giving it to LWZ? No one seems to be talking about that. It was such a sweet gesture considering he was so resistant at the start and wouldn’t even peel prawns himself).

Him: What are you doing?
Her: Fixing the pillow.
Him: Using the pillow as an excuse to lay on her lap.

Ah! He finally confessed to her about that box. That hug she gave him and him returning it. Meow.

Y’all have no idea how depressed I was today. Literally cried 30 mins before airing time and only these episodes get me through day by day.

Not necessarily. I can’t either. I was talking about how at least he doesn’t feel too lost because he chose to leave in the book which he hasn’t done here. Whether or not he might turn into a good person, I guess we’ll see in the future.

So a lot of things happened in today’s episode. Wei Yan was being all ishy but then turned around and even though I know how he was in the book, I’m glad they turned his character this way here. He is no longer as ‘lost’ as before.

There are many moments I loved in episode 17 between the couple and the generals.

Fujun, she’s calls him so sweetly.

‘The jade was a gift passed from grandfather to grandmother, to Wei Shao, to me and back to grandmother, but this jade is from Wei Shao to me’.

I actually quite like where Wei Yan character is going.

The next teasers are going to be even sweeter. Meow.

I know why she does after reading the book but I’m more concerned about her apparently liking Su E Huang & choosing to sit beside her.
