This dude had better be careful. Korean fans turn on a dime from rabid fans to rabid animals at the whiff of a horrific "scandal," such as going on a date.
Episode 8: So...I'm thinking the whole bit with the kid who supposedly works for Lu Feng biking in front of Yi Chen's car, getting hurt, the laptop, the whole episode, was a charade set up by Lu Feng...thoughts?
Yi Chen is ridiculously unconvincing as a straight man, getting married to a woman, the whole bit, I chuckled through the wedding, and his allegedly awesome performance as a businessman at his wife's corporation. lol
And why the hell was he the one who walked down the aisle to the waiting bride? hahaha They should have dispensed with appearances and let him wear the wedding dress. Of course, that would send the hideous mother sprawling to the ground in another of her over-the-top fainting spells...oh, but that would actually be a good thing. Is it wrong that I cheered aloud when she croaked?
Even though all this dramatic shit, the hospital, various deathly illnesses, paralysis, gay men marrying straight women to appease an old witch who was already half dead anyway, etc., I was strangely unmoved by it all. I think it's that everyone's behavior is so over-the-top absurd and stupid, that I can't really buy into it as a story.
Part of it is the dubbing of voices/sounds/everything, which sounds incredibly artificial; it keeps me at arm's length, as though I'm watching through plate glass with headphones on instead of being in the same space with these people. Well, I WAS wearing headphones, but you know what I mean...
The main problem, though, is Lu Si Tong's poor acting. He has two basic facial expressions: 1. Blissfully happy, with a baby-faced, fake smile of ecstasy. 2. Pouty-despressed, sullen, and blank, as though he's on Thorazine He switches back and forth, with little to no variation, according to whatever scene he's in. Terrible acting and obviously, terrible directing as well.
Initially, I was impressed with all the authentic-seeming weeping in this show, but during this episode I became more and more suspicious that there's a menthol-infused-tear-stick being passed around among the cast. And then, there's the old, standby eye drop technique. Whatever the case, many of the tears shed this episode looked fake.
OK, well, on to next week, I guess...
Given all of the above, while I will enjoy whatever unspeakable acts of revenge Lu Feng has in store, the thrill will be far less intense than what it might have been with a much better actor as YC.
Pretty typical Korean BL: saccharine with lots of nose jobs, tropes, cliches, and soft focus everywhere. Oh, and our first mannequin kiss is coming up in episode 3.
Me too, at least until episode 7, when he, along with the bratty younger brother, were more than happy to throw Lu Feng and Yi Chen under the bus and continue pretending they're not gay, too. There is some quality about QL that draws me.
I was just surprised how she produced that little red savings booklet out of thin air after being in the emergency…
I hadn't thought about the absurdity of her having her savings passbook on her during a medical emergency! hahaha How stupid is that? :D
I've read that even to this day, a lot of Chinese people don't know that homosexuality is even a valid thing. And if they do know it's a thing, they think of it as an unimaginable horror that only happens to awful people. It's no wonder the hideous old bag reacted the way she did.
Yes, the more I think about it, the more YC becomes a villain in my eyes. And it's the same sad story of a closeted man marrying a straight woman to keep up the facade. Now, not only is he destroying his own life, but that of an innocent person who will enter the relationship without a clue as to what she's getting into.
Which leads me to an earlier point: Who would look at delicate, little YC and not know he's gay? lol
I have always found the site easy to use. Let me know if I can help. In the meantime, here's the link directly to the "See You" movie player page: https://hollymoviehd.cc/see-you-2024/
I am having heart palpitations can someone please send me a doctor . I wonder how Yichen will look like when he…
Yeah, I'm team Lu Feng too. :) It's going to be amusing to watch a bride and hundreds of wedding guests pretend that the groom is not obviously a delicate, little homosekshul. :D
Episode 7: Someone needs to just strangle that old b*tch. They should have let her croak when she first "collapsed." lol
I had forgotten just how over-the-top this series of events would be. I almost laughed when the younger brother took that tumble (I was GLAD to see him take that tumble, but that's another post). The operatic melodrama is a hoot.
Glad to see Lu Feng's evil side come back out. I missed it. :) And speaking of evil sides, LF has nothing on that vicious, selfish, old hag of a mom. Leveraging her ill health to blackmail Yi Cheng to do her bidding is about as low as you can go. I don't care if she's an old, ignorant fool from a generation of homophobes; the way she turned on her sons in a crisis tells us exactly who she is.
And what's with the younger brother brat and his BF, who were hoping to slither under Mom's radar and let all the gay rain down on LF and YC.
But back to LF, yeah, wow, there was no excuse for pushing things so hard so immediately after Mom walked in. But that's the animalistic side that led him to do what he did to YC in his office earlier. That said, LF definitely has a point about how quickly and easily YC turned on him after the Wicked Witch did her big blackmail scene in her hospital room, and how YC always puts him last.

What you've done is the equivalent of me posting on here, "I swear to god member noir is a rapist-pervert murderer. Correct me if I'm wrong."
Or, you could choose to be a decent person and mind your own business, but I know that's unlikely.

Watchable, but barely.

Enjoy!
I'm front row center. :)

I wrote above that they should have held off on calling 911 when she "collapsed" at home. :D
Yi Chen is a spineless wimp when things get tough.
Oh, I do disagree with one thing you said: As a person who eats toxic, tangled dramas for breakfast, I see the story as going UPhill from now on. :)
You don't have to wait a week. We get another episode tomorrow!
Someone needs to just strangle that old b*tch.
They should have let her croak when she first "collapsed." lol

Team Lu Feng all the way!
Hooray for New Year's Fireworks!
I get lost a lot. :)
Let me know what you think of the flick.
