Hey, I think we got a shout-out to the gays/BL fans in episode 7.
The new granddaughter is asking who wants the "top" and the "bottom" beds, then after she picks for them, Ujin wants to know why she selected him for the "bottom." lol

This show really does have a beautiful, platonic love story between two straight guys as its emotional core, which is refreshing, especially for Korea. On the other hand, neither one of them has shown ANY interest whatsoever in women. Things that make you go "hmmm..."

Episodes 5 & 6:

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! :( WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?!!!!!

My screams of shock and horror taken care of, I DO love when plots take wildly unexpected turns that most shows aren't willing to tackle. Plus, angst and emotional anguish in storytelling give me life. :P

Epic, A+-level fight choreography and execution, but what makes this show special, and this is true of many Korean thrillers, is the likable/believable characters explored with some depth, and the relationships among them. When you care about what happens to film characters, the intensity level is magnified tenfold.

An ML's romance might be hot, but for these two characters, given who they are, I find their intense platonic love incredibly moving.

Gosh, no, that would make sense and we can't have that in this show.

I'm not a C-drama watcher, but I'm liking this guy more and more. :)

Shady characters are the best, to liven things up. :)

I wait until all have aired, then binge them.
If it sucks, I'll know pretty quick and can drop out.

These "interviews" in which Asian actors/idols react to questions they've been given ahead of time with answers that have been written for them are hilarious but also creepy af.

They sound like robots, knowing that the slightest deviation from what's expected, the slightest bit of humanity that might slip thru, could be the basis for some ridiculous "controversy" that could end their career and even their lives.

Those aren't "his" answers.
They were written for him to speak, just like lines in a drama.

Will Asian fans never catch on to how this game is played? lol

Episodes 1-4:
Damn.
I was never much of an action-thriller fan until Korea turned me into one.
Bloodhounds is a great example of how it did that.
The characters are given depth and humanity that makes me care what happens to them.

Lee Sang Yi's Hong U Jin is my favorite character, by far.
Funny, loyal, strong, and HOT in a non-typical way.

I sure hope the plot comes up with a lot more ways to get the shirts (and pants?) off the two MLs in the remaining episodes. FIIIIIINE...

Unbelievably convincing fight scenes! Never thought I'd see a believable portrayal of two dudes taking on 20 others and beating the shit out of them, but I just did.

This watch is more than a little melancholy, though, as I'm continually reminded of how psycho Knetz and the Korean Celeb Suicide Machine sadistically, mercilessly hounded Kim Sae Ron to her death following her drunk driving incident in which no one was hurt and for which she had already paid the legal price of punishment.

Here's a serious f**k you to anyone who should happen upon this comment, who had anything at all to do with torturing her to death. Karma will get you, assholes.

I stumbled across BL and then Asian cinema, all about the same time six and a half years ago, and never looked back. Ever since, I rarely watch American/Western films. It's by far mostly Asian/International, with Korean my easy preference.

Not only did I not expect the ultra-high acting, production, direction values, but I didn't expect how much more intensely I connect with the characters. I have tried to analyze that, but it's only guesswork. I may have been Korean/Asian in an earlier life. :)

For years now, it feels strange to watch a film withOUT subtitles. I know many rubes don't like them, but with the continued success of Korean/International films/dramas on NF, that has to be changing rapidly. Foreign shows are regularly in the top 10 of even USNetflix, and the US is about as xenophobic as a country can be.

I know because I live here. :P
BTW, I hate Tr*mp and voted against him all three times. But still, I'm sorry for what he's doing to the world.
