Except that this show's portrayal of gay men is itself homophobic.I'm guessing the overall effect of this drama's…
The MC and his friend group are a minstrel show of classic, mincing, bitchy, shallow, hyper-effeminate, booze and sex-obsessed gay stereotypes. Their concerns run the gamut from cosmetics to who they laid last night and back to cosmetics.

The MC in particular, repeats the same pattern with every relationship, never learns anything, never grows as a person until near the end, when it seems he might have learned something, but then it turns out, no...he didn't.

After each relationship blows up, he goes clubbing, gets shit-faced, and some other handsome, unfortunate sap immediately falls in love at first sight with the goofy-faced, plain, Mickey Mouse-eared, Joker-smiled MC. Unlikely. Of course, he immediately moves in with his latest victim-to-be.

This is about as negative a portrayal of gay men/life as there could be. It's not that I'm against ALL partying, fun, and frivolity, but there is little in the story to show that the MC Queen and his annoying ladies-in-waiting have anything on their minds other than big dicks, alcohol, drugs, dancing, and more big dicks.

I've no doubt this show moved the gay equality needle backwards in Korea. Why would anyone but other shallow, gay stereotypes be favorably moved by this mess?

The show is technically well-produced, which is the extent of its positive aspects.

This is not a show I can bare to watch more than once (much like Your Name Engraved Herein), any time I miss it,…

I'm guessing the overall effect of this drama's airing in Korea was a giant step backward for gay acceptance.

Ep. 1:

This is the first drama I have ever returned to for a deliberate hate-watch.
I watched it when it was first released.
The OTP fangirling over the show from much of the audience made me dislike it more intensely than I already did. A shallow, narcissistic, gay cliche, goofy-faced MC, played by a horrendously miscast actor, plus the character's shallow, narcissistic, horrendous behavior and complete lack of growth over eight episodes...Christ, there is so much to hate.

So, more than a year later, I'm back for a second go-round, just to confirm my original reaction's validity. After this first episode, I doubt I'll make it very far into my hate-watch. The MC is simply too repugnant to bear, as are his gay cliche, shallow, mincing friend group.

This early on in the hate watch, what comes back the strongest is the naked absurdity of this plain-faced, gangly actor with giant ears playing a character at whose feet hot men fall one after the other.

Secondly, comes the horror of remembering how many people regard what is shown here as "the gay life." No, a majority of gay men are NOT like this. Not at all.

Feels raw, realistic and unresolved. It is something that resonates and made you reflect. The challenges, the pain,…
"It's his story, and it's his perspective; so you can't really expect exposition of other character's story."

This is why I disliked the show so much.
I found almost nothing to admire or root for in the MC or the actor who was dreadfully miscast to portray him. Given that it's all about a shallow narcissist with the self-awareness of a dust mite, played with goofy-faced awkwardness by Nam Yoon Su, what's to like?

I'm guessing your own personal life is boring.
I don't care what my comment does to you. My guess that your personal life is boring, is my opinion, which I left on a public board.

The content of your comments suggests you are way over-invested in the activities of make-believe people on a screen, and react with hostility to outcomes on that screen that disrupt your make-believe world. All of which suggests your actual life in meat space is...boring.

Just an opinion..."buddy."

Why do you fucking hate love triangles? They happen all the time in real life too.
"Salty." lol Did you come up with that Internet cliche all on your own?

"...I fucking HATE love triangles..." seems pretty "salty" to me, don't you think? Why are you so cranky and bitchy in response to a reply some rando on the Internet left, beeyatch? Look in the mirror.

Other than that, thanks for the reply. Now I know why you "fucking HATE love triangles." You have trouble distinguishing between real life and what you're seeing on a screen. Good to know.

More than Gyeon, TL people should question Doha's morality. He keeps flustering, zoning out with everyone and…
Theory: Doha is, in fact, evil and has been playing the three against each other with full knowledge of what he's doing, just for laughs. This would be more interesting than what's going on.

I don' like the way Do Ha is treating Gyeon! It would be amazing if Gyeon and Ha Ram could get together instead
Perhaps the three tall guys dump Doha and form a throuple among themselves...?

That one huge smile Doha gave Team Leader that was supposed to be so dazzling and gorgeous, actually made me cringe. Seemed very fake.

Yes but also guys' attitude is a little annoying, they're STRESSING that poor guy😭... I personally understand…
I mentioned in my comment above it would be awesome if it turned out DoHa's Little Miss Princess act was totally fake, and he is evil, and just enjoys fucking around with other guys' heads. :)

Ep. 6:

The only way this halfway works for me is to imagine it taking place on the pages of a Manwha, where nothing has to make sense, anyway.

At the core of the show is DoHa, who has no core.
There is no reason for these guys to like him so much. He is empty-headed and uninteresting in the extreme. And the way he always acts as though he has nooooooo idea that these guys are into him, and their confessions of love are always a compleeeeeeeeeeete surprise to sweet, innocent Miss DoHa. Please. The Southern Belle act is wearing thin, too.

Then, there's the fact we're to believe this guy is.......28 years old, yet he acts as if he never left home before...? Please.

Gyeon's display of somewhat psycho aggression on the beach was both awesome and scary. Stalker-ish. DoHa doesn't owe anyone constant updates on his whereabouts.

What could save this show is if it turns out that DoHa is evil and has been stringing all three pursuers along, pitting them against each other in a pitched battle for his love, purely for his own twisted amusement. And, when this is exposed as being the case at the end of the show, he will simply pack up and move to another town, where he'll play the same game all over again. However, I guess Gyeon has known him all his life, so that wouldn't work. Unless Gyeon is in on it with DoHa, and they travel around, messing with guys' heads for yucks.

Ep. 5:
DoHa's Intellectually Disabled Middle Schooler act is wearing thin fast.

To those who might have seen the ancient American film, "Forrest Gump," THAT'S who DH reminds me of. There is just not much there. He is facially adorable, but that's the end of his list of attributes. The plot gives us no reason other than that to explain why these eligible men are swooning over him from all sides. It's not the actor's fault; the character seems to have been written and directed this way. Lame.

From a script and screen time perspective, this just feels like it's DoHa and Gyeon's story, with the other two swirling around the edges. I hope it turns out that way, as I am Team Gyeon all the way. Haram is sort of blah, and I find Team Leader handsome but mechanical. Gyeon is the only one of the three from whom I pick up real affection and concern for DoHa. Not that DoHa deserves it.

That strange, little coda to this episode, with the coffee/tripping/brainless smile, was...something.

How is it that Gyeon gets sexier and better-looking each episode?

This feels like a slightly above-average, light-weight show, but I'm surprisingly invested in the outcome.

Some of the scene-to-scene transitions are rough and confusing as hell.
It seems there's going to be hot, disturbing, S&M sex, then the next thing I know, Employer is leaning against a dresser, casually conversing with Employee, who is lying on the bed, all dressed and zipped up again. wtf?
Then...we get finger chewing and talk of blood oaths, then cut to nice food preparation in the kitchen. Again, wtf?
I guess he caught a cold because he took a hot shower or something? lol It wouldn't be a Korean BL without someone becoming ill after getting their hair wet.
I want to thank Employee for taking off his shirt and for the hours he spent in the gym.
Employer is a good actor. His dark kinkiness and authoritative air feel authentic.
It's nice to enjoy two young actors who are naturally handsome, and not a nose job in sight.

I certainly hope this gets as kinky as it seems it might, and that it's not going to be a ten-episode tease that never pays off.
