At the end….he lies about the poison… during the dinner…the wine
On your comment above, click on the three, stacked dots underneath on the right. In the drop-down box, click on edit. When the edit box pops up showing your comment, look underneath to the left. You will see a little box and the word "spoiler." Click on that and repost.

That spoiler box is always there when you write a new comment, underneath the comment box, to the left of the "post" button.

After reading through comments below, fair warning: If you want a bland, sweet, fluffy, clouds and unicorns BL fantasy, this ain't for you.

If you like things realistic to dark af, dive in.
This is far from perfect, but the acting's top-notch and I loved the messiness.

fucking ruined it with the damn fiancé. so stupid!
Given the vibe/tone, it seemed clear from the beginning that this was not going to be a cuddly, sweet watch with a fairy tale ending.

Goodness, this was a surprise.
I stumbled across this at 3am and here I am after 4, having binged the whole thing. :)

First things first: Phenomenal acting from both leads, far above and beyond 95% of BL acting. Restrained and realistic. Kudos to both actors and to the director.

As a lover of angst, pain, and suffering in my stories, I enjoyed where the story tried to take us, but a lot of Yeuwen's behavior after you-know-who showed up was sloppily written and incoherent. Again, I liked the darkness, but the way it was handled left me unconvinced.

Awesome ending.

I will def check out more offerings from this studio.

It strikes me as extremely reductive to label Yuewen a "villain," which is an easy, black/white way of looking at a complicated person having a complicated reaction to an unexpected situation; first his first gay experience and then the fiance showing up.

Much of Yuewen's behavior after the fiance showed up was sloppily written and clunky to the point of not making sense, but I liked the intent of the storytellers.

why recently there is so many comments about lily Alice
Don't you think her crap articles must get lots of hits? Otherwise, why would they publish them?

You make a good point, though. How sick is it that a site whose sole purpose is to hype and promote Asian dramas and movies, finds it profitable to help destroy the careers and lives of actors unfortunate enough to find themselves in its gun sights? A horrifying indication that industry bigwigs see individual actors as wholly disposable, no matter how popular and successful they've been.

Look how quickly they, and Lily Alice, helped take down and drive Lee Sun Kyun to suicide. He was Korea's biggest and arguably, best, at the height of his powers. It's as though an example was deliberately made of him.

Someone tracked it back to the US - it's not a drama watcher for sure and MDL owners don't care what it does.
Thanks.

So, basically, a rando, sadistic, netizen who gets off on flogging "controversies" to see how many entertainers, mostly Korean, she can help kill off.

I'd argue that MDL owners DO care what it does - they don't let just anyone's writing end up on the front page so regularly - and they like the results.
Depressing.

Title I Am a King
"It's the damn Japs, again!" lol

Best Korean historical comedy, ever.
Best Asian historical comedy, ever.
One of the best Asian comedies of any kind, ever.
One of the best comedies of any kind, out of any country, I have ever seen.

Like all great comedy, this film has an earnest heart and a timeless message at its core.
Ju Ji Hoon is off-the-charts spectacular in his dual role here, but the ensemble acting across the board is sensational, as well. There is no weak link.
I lol'd at least 30 times from start to finish.
Teared up a few times, too.

Do not miss it.

P.S. I can't place the actor from the cast listed here, but whoever played the high-pitched voiced official or Lord or whatever who giggled and squealed thru his scenes, is a genius. I could not stop laughing, especially in his extended, final scene. Bravo.
