If 'Actions speak louder than words' then we can clearly see that with this episode, the walls between Sheng Wang…
Are you compensated for this type of comment?

Title The On1y One
Wang narrated: "I don't know whether this will become a comedy or a tragedy..."
Well, I know: It has been a tragedy for at least three episodes; ever since the Thai replacement writers took over after the original screenplay was destroyed as part of a dispute between producers and the first team of Taiwanese writers.

How many scenes do we need showing us how much Tian cares for and protects Wang? We get it already!
How many more scenes featuring the gay/bi/straight teacher triangle will I have to FF through?

This has been a problem for a while now, but I've refrained from mentioning it: Liu Dong Qin as Wang relies far too heavily on his frowny-face, his pouty-face, and his wry/innocent face to express emotions. I've lost a sense of Wang as a person; he's become an assemblage of actorly cliches. I blame the director, who should have called him on it rather than apparently encouraging it. Also, the director has Wang behaving like a little kid half the time, and not in a good way.

Has anyone else noticed we've yet to see Wang shirtless, even in the pool? My theory is that as he is coded as the BOTTOM here, and taking one's shirt off is a pretty butch thing guys do, he deliberately has been told to keep his clothes ON, as he is the feminine-coded, hesitant, and more delicate half of the MC. Liu Dong Qin clearly has a very nice body. You can easily see that under that tee shirt is a nice, defined chest. It's another tragedy he's been made to keep that hidden from us.

wooooooo...sports days!
weeeeeee...kidnappings!
oooooooo...sprained ankles!
eeeeeeek...bandits sneaking into the dorm and scaring poor, helpless Wang. (The bandit came THROUGH their window? wth were they looking at when they looked out of that window?)

It's a shame what this show has become. It at first held great promise for me...

Two more Internet misdirection cliches to finish off your schtick.
Do you ever write anything original?

Clearly, you don't speak to many people. Yes, because I asked you to write what you mean rather than asking your readers to read not only your sentences but your mind, I must be "miserable"..."babe". Got it. This is a typical Internet misdirection tactic: "I have no argument, so you...you just...you SUCK!" lol

The dense one is you. You aren't even aware of your own word choices, or are too lazy to arrange them to reflect what your meaning is.

Readers are generally not expected to read the minds of writers and just "know" their intent. My point was that it is SILLY to claim my calling a show a POS is "harsh" without saying why. Are any negative comments "harsh," or is it my use of the commonly used phrase "pos" that upset you?

If you feel condescended to, well, maybe don't write things people are supposed to just "obviously know," rather than being clear about it.

I suggest you block me.

Okay first of all let's change the term from Weak to Spoilt. Chihiro grew up in a middle class Japanese home while…
"get it together"
"it's all in your head"
"suck it up"
"just don't think about it"
" smile!"
"quit obsessing over it"
"go outside and DO something"
"think positive!"
"look on the bright side"
"it could be worse"
"You should be glad that..."
"you're just being selfish"
"don't take yourself so seriously"

I’m here for Benjamin Tsang. I can tolerate anything else as long as he’s on screen. ☺️. Liu Dong Qin…
I'm with you all the way regarding Benjamin Tsang, who is a rare talent. I first saw him an obscure BL short film that's not even on his bio. In both instances I found his looks to be goofy on first sight, but within ten minutes I was in both lust and love. He's a good actor and has tremendous charisma and screen presence. Not many actors can say as much as he does without words, using his eyes/face/body.

But the only way this now-mess is "worth the watch" at this point is by FFing through scenes he's not in.

lmao i would agree but this is all from the book
I will never understand this kind of statement: "...but this is all from the book."

So what? How does that make it any less juvenile, stupid, and unoriginal? Making an adaptation is an opportunity to fix things in the source material that don't work or are lame af, like this stuff. The idea that being faithful to a flawed text is an excuse doesn't work for me.

WHAT IS HAPPENINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNG?

This show was so good for seven episodes, but then it started sliding and with episode 9 it crashed and burned. Now, in episode 10, we're seeing cliche/trope/lame writing to a startling degree.

Who tf gets sent home from school because they have ONE ankle wrapped in a bit of medical gauze, and are using ONE crutch to get from room to room? NO ONE, that's who, least of all for 15 FREAKING DAYS! Why is it so difficult for BL writers to come up with believable/plausible causes and effects to explain plot developments, that they don't even bother?

If you want the kid to have to stay home and away from his supposed beloved for two weeks, have him BREAK his leg in two places and put him in a full-leg cast. Don't wrap one ankle in a bit of tissue and call it good. I am shocked at how much the writing has deteriorated since around episode 6...maybe the original team quit over contract disputes, took the finished screenplay with them, and the new hires from Thailand who had to start from scratch? This is so disappointing.

Well, look at that...a "slip-fall-catch!" How daring and original!

This is the first episode I've started skipping ahead through. I just don't care about so much of it. I was able to jump over more extended, wasted scenes of the two gay/bi/straight guys and Miss Jane or whatever the hell she is. But then we got the MC back together for lots more pouting, teasing, unspoken but obvious feelings, all underscored by tinkling, cutesy music, also right out of Thailand. ugh

I have to take a break from this thing. How the mighty have fallen...so sad.

Wow, bravo! I especially second your words about how mental illnesses are diminished and seen by many as "excuses" or "laziness," simply because the mental/physical symptoms which accompany mental illness are largely invisible to the eye. You can't see Depression the same way you can see a broken leg.

I met with a therapist and a close relative many years ago during a bout of severe depression. To help him understand the depression's effects on my abilities, she asked him if he would expect me to get out of bed and walk out the door if my hip was broken and I were in a cast. Her meaning being that mental illnesses are no less incapacitating because we can't see them.

You lack empathy. There are clear reasons why Chihiro is the way he is, right there in the plot and dialogue from the very beginning. Given what he's been through, the fact he is still standing proves he's not "weak."

And quit calling other people "leeches." The guy lost one job and immediately go another. In his recent past, yes, he has relied too heavily on boyfriends to take care of him, but it is unfair and inaccurate to reduce him to just one, temporary aspect of his personality and actions, and label him a "leech." I get that doing that makes you feel superior and in your mind insulates you from the thought that one day YOU might have to rely on another person, but it doesn't, it just makes you sound like a cold-hearted douche.

As an example, I'm sure you have many qualities, some of them perhaps even positive, other than that you are judgemental, lacking in empathy, and make no attempt to understand why people are the way they are. I could take those three qualities, combine them, and come up with the label "lazy, insecure tool," but I would never do that.
