Hahahahahahh the 2nd rape capital of the world (after india) never fails to make me laugh. Rapists walk free while…
NK is an unspeakable hell-hole. SK has extremely serious societal problems, but if the border between the countries was opened, there would be a mass migration south, not north.

Correlation does not imply causation.
The commenter did not say that rapists going free (which is an exaggeration) CAUSES private drug users to get harsher sentences; they COMPARED the two aspects of the Korean legal system to highlight how inequitable it is.

But I'm guessing you've been dying to use that tired phrase so you tossed it in without regard to whether it applies here.

Totally irrelevant
Nope. It's all related to the fucked up priorities and social attitudes in Korea. Chugging Soju and puking in the streets every night is fine, but smoke a joint and you're off to prison. SK has the highest suicide rate in the country and fewer and fewer young people want to have kids...something's off.

You guys are so worried. This is only what the government wants. It is up to the court to decide. Also, the case…
That's what I am hoping. Also hoping that lots of people are taking good care of and watching over Yoo right now. We don't need another Korean celeb suicide. Yoo would break my fucking heart.

"Deceived doctors"? Those doctors should be prosecuted instead.
I believe at least three were, but they were given mild, SUSPENDED sentences and tiny fines. Yes, exactly, how did Yoo "deceive" a doctor into prescribing Propofol, a dangerous drug, dozens of times? It's insane.

Are you a devoted North Korean? Well it sounds like it.
Absurd. South Korea is so far beyond the nightmare that North Korea is, in wealth, income, technology, standard of living, that to compare them is ridiculous. It's like comparing chocolate ice cream and shit. HOWEVER, Korea has the HIGHEST RATES OF SUICIDE, ALCOHOLISM, AND TOBACCO USE IN THE DEVELOPED WORLD. It is a deeply fucked-up country. There are lots of reasons why that is, but shit like this public show trial and crucifixion of YAI isn't a step in the right direction.

There's a reason why Korea has the highest suicide rate and the lowest birthrates in the world! The citizens feel…
It also has the highest rate of ALCOHOLISM in the developed world. Soju flows out of drinking fountains there. Large troughs are place in the streets of Seoul every night for everyone to puke up their beer and soju, go to work with a hangover the next day, then do it all over the next day.

I am sure he could need this: proper medical treatment for his anxiety, to be left the fk alone with his family…
Wow, you said it. I agree with every word. He does need rehab. And you are 100% right about Korea having the highest rates of suicide and alcoholism in the developed world, by far. People drink Soju like I drink iced tea, then puke it up in the streets every night, but that's completely fine, even though ALCOHOL IS A DRUG, people! Booze costs Korea BILLIONS of $$$ every year in medical expenses, lost productivity, drunk driving crashes, and all the other ills that come with booze.

Seriously, phuk these prosecutors.

just fine him, 100 hrs of community service and be done with it. It's just f marijuana. Think he will stop smoking…
I agree, but you forgot the Propofol and sleeping pills charges, which are the main deal here.

I agree! But I think part of the sentencing was because of the fact he was distributing it - it's one thing for…
BULLSHIT. THAT IS A LIE. This is exactly how "netizens" such as yourself spread false rumors and slander celebrities, without a clue as to what they're talking about. Yoo has NOT been charged with distributing Propofol or sleeping pills, for god's sake.

He is charged with "distributing" MARIJUANA WHILE IN THE UNITED STATES to friends who smoked up with him. They also charged him with encouraging his friends to smoke, as if they have no brains of their own.

Please educate yourself before spreading malicious BS that can drive people to suicide, such as we saw with LSK just seven months ago.

These prosecutors are scum-licking zealots. This isn't about their concern for the country and Yoo as a role model; this is about individuals in the justice system slobbering to make a very public impact and move up the ladder via Yoo's persecution and over-the-top torture during the last 18 months.

This is a repeat of the horror we saw leading up to Lee Sun Kyun's suicide just seven months ago, and it's clear these bastards aren't the least bit bothered by what took place last December.

Fuck them.
