I’m surprised others are saying maybe. I would say very much yes. Or at least I can say with confidence that despite it being an extremely well made and powerful movie, it’s not likely one you will be able to say you “enjoyed.”

I thought, too, that he could have killed her (not saying he should have), but then the land probably would have just gone to her husband. No matter what, Jeff’s character was going to have a tragic ending.

Thongkam marries (though not legally) Sek after working together with him for over 5 years to buy and establish a durian farm. Thongkam has contributed the money and Sek did most of the work, but the orchard is registered in Sek’s name after they officially own it. He dies in a farming accident (very early on), and his mom inherits the land and house because they were not legally married. Thongkam ends up having to suck up to the mother and her adoptive (again not legally) daughter to avoid losing everything. I can go into more detail if you’d like.

Actually, I listened to the song at the time stamp you mentioned, and it wasn’t the one I was thinking of from ITSAY. That one first shows up in Ep 1 at 47:29 when they’re washing the scooter. I’m not sure about the other, though it sounds familiar to me, too.

If I’m not mistaken, it shows up a lot in I Told Sunset About You. I noticed it, too, and it made me nostalgic.

That’s exactly how I’ve been feeling about the plot. It just doesn’t make sense. I love these guys, though, so I’m hanging in there and assuming that it will get better.

I know what you mean about no one you know watching the show. I do have one IG friend who has been watching it, but she is several episodes behind. So I have been subjecting my poor husband to all my rants about it. 😂 I think Seung Min is really emotionally fragile and worries too much about what others think of him. It would be nice to see him take a deep breath and go with the flow more.

The thing is, he *assumed* MK didn’t feel the same as him and ghosted him on that basis. But MK said in one of his interviews that he actually had liked YJ a lot and was confused why he suddenly cut off contact.

I could be totally wrong about this, but MK reads to me like he could be neurodivergent. (Which is not a criticism. It actually makes me feel more compassion for him.)

Glad to see a shoutout to Mark! He really is such a delight and was lovely in this.

I very much doubt he's dead. My suspicion is this accident didn't happen at all and was just part of a nightmare after their night in bed together (because of the depth of JW's fears about choosing what he wants for himself rather than following the path he feels like he's supposed to follow.) If it did happen, it would be really surprising if they killed the character off this early unless the remaining episodes are going to have a lot of time jumps. JH has his own story and character arc, and I doubt they would so bluntly end all of that and make the rest of it just about JW.

I'm not an expert on this, but I've never come across 남자친구 used in a way that wasn't a romantic relationship. I think if he wanted to clarify that it wasn't his girlfriend, he would have just said 친구.

Something that has stood out to me is how many moments there have been where someone mentions needing to go to the bathroom or where they're focusing on whether they are hungry or full, how much they've drunk, being sensitive to cold or itchy sand... those are all examples of interoception.

I think it's unlikely because JH has his own character arc and there are lots of scenes of him with other characters when JW is not around and that have nothing to do with JW or are only tangentially connected to him. It wouldn't make sense for JW to be imagining all that. Also, there would be no reason for the ex girlfriend to be jealous or the restaurant owner's friendship with and protectiveness of him to be portrayed if he doesn't actually exist.

My thought exactly. Unless there are going to be a lot of time jumps in the last few episodes, it's too early for him to die and it would leave too many of JH's plot lines unresolved. He doesn't just exist in the story as a satellite of JW. He's going through his own character arc. I would be really surprised if they just cut all that off at this point, and I can't imagine what they would do for the remaining episodes.
