I don't know if anyone has had this theory before...But I think that especially because of the strange editing…
I agree with you. I think what we are seeing is a combination of something really happening and dream, nightmare, or fantasy sequences. It's just not clear which are which. My suspicion at this point is that the accident is a nightmare that JW is having because of his past trauma and his fear that something really bad will happen if he lets himself love this boy, which would be a total break from the heavy expectations his parents have placed on him in so many ways.
Wtf😭 Those eps were such a roller coaster I wanna cry... Ji Hyun is not dead, is he...?
I'm hoping that the surfing sequence that went badly was a nightmare. It would make sense that JW would be tortured by fears of losing another person he has come to care for, who he seems to associate with his brother due to age, personality, innocence... If it really did happen, wouldn't it be the case that they slept on the beach the first night, went surfing the next day, slept in a hotel or something the second night, and then went surfing again? Those two sequences of surfing can't be from the same day unless both happened after the night indoors (although that night could also have been a dream.) Because there's so much of the story left, I think it's really unlikely that JH is dead. It seems more probable to me that what we are seeing is JW's fear and trauma taking shape in a way that is either a nightmare or him imagining how things could go wrong. Some people have suggested that JH might not be real, but I don't think that's possible. There have been several scenes where the story is told from his perspective with other characters and JW not even there. He's real. I also think this second beach trip has been real, at least in part. If JW were imagining it all, I don't think he would imagine JH reacting in so many ways that surprised him. JH seems to be a separate person actually interacting with him, not a projection of his imagination. The bed scene, I'm not so sure about. That could have been fantasy or a dream.
Do you think the beach trip was just a dream/ imagination or actually real? I so hope it’s real not just because…
I suspect that the trip has been real and even the lovemaking scene but that the surfing part after that could have been a nightmare that JW had later that night. If it really happened, it means they surfed again the next day after spending a night indoors, right? Or the accident happened and the scene of them in bed was a dream or fantasy (JW trying to escape the pain of being part of another person he cares deeply for being harmed.) Since there is so much left still in the show, I think it's very unlikely that JH is dead. I can't imagine what they would do for 2 more episodes if he is.
This keeps popping up in the feeds and people are loving it. So I decided to give it a go, but I really do not…
I also had a very hard time getting into this one but I'm glad I stuck with it. It grows on you. The relationship between Tinn and Gun is very sweet and sincere.
I'm not a fan of EarthMix and I like it. It's a mature, slower paced and serious show, though, so if you prefer…
If you don’t mind a slower pace and are looking for a more adult storyline, this one might actually be up your alley. It’s visually gorgeous, and I like the acting, but I’m a fan of these two, so take that with a grain of salt. I will say that their characters in this one are distinct from their past shows (more so on Mix’s part but for both of them.)
He definitely came to eat. Just not food. That walk to the car from the restaurant is some of the most beautiful…
Ah!! I get it now. 🤦♀️ I read this as from the car to his house and went back and watched that part and was confused. Like, it’s nice and all but not quite that level. 🤣 I totally agree. That part was stunning.
Yeah, the idea of First and Mix together just does not compute
Agreed. I'm wondering if this story will have a happy ending for Wen and Jim. My guess is yes, but I wonder if Wen and Alan will try to work things out for a bit (I wouldn't have thought so except that the DVD they're talking about in the scene where he feeds the cat seems like it might be foreshadowing something.
So many people have already pointed out the powerful cinematography. Part of what made it stand out for me was how it was used to highlight the neighborhood and neighbors, which collectively felt like another character in the series. It was like I Told Sunset About You in that way.
you might also be thinking of A Tale of a Thousand Stars? A lot of the same actors are in that!!
There was a lot of buzz around it when the first version of the trailer was released, and there were some recent shows that came out that are related (Midnight Hotel, for example). I kind of had the same feeling, even though I know it is just coming out now.
yeah im also curious why they never kiss, but again maybe that's actors' preference and if so i'd want to respect…
I've gotten the impression that Mix may struggle with body-dysphoria-type issues, so he may be setting some boundaries around it, which I think are important to respect. For me, their chemistry works brilliantly even without more explicit skinship.
I'm sorry but the sex scene felt a bit forced and it didn't flow naturally to me... they felt very stiff.. even…
I felt that a bit, too, but I wonder if they're pushing back against the other BLs that rely so heavily on perfectly choreographed NC scenes that titillate but aren't very much like real life sex at all. I've also had the sense for a while that Earth and Mix are less comfortable than a lot of ships with the make out scenes. I don't mind it because they communicate their attraction SO effectively in the rest of their body language and through their eyes, though I'll admit I was hoping for a little more here. It felt like the original trailer was actually a bit smoother on this level. Just me?
Clarification on Heart? If he only lost his hearing a few years ago through illness and he's a teenager wouldn't…
That was my question, too. I think it would be quite unusual for someone to lose the muscle memory of how to speak alongside losing their hearing, but I'm not any sort of expert.
