The director and screenwriter of this series are really famous for such genre of screenplays. Actually, in general many of Chinese novels that were materialised have endings like this, which they prefer to be open or just hanging and its up to the audience how you'll be able to adopt it. I mean all of us were asking who, what, why that was the ending. And that's the work of art.

There is an upcoming series by the same director and screenwriter for MJTY which is The Story of Mystics, currently filming right now. With this combo again, we know what to expect and will be anticipating for the broadcasting of this hopefully next year.

You cant judge the role at the initial episodes. Even at episode 1 he was already showing empathy to the old guy manning their outpost herb house when he got poisoned. he gave him his elixir. He refused to informed his father that there were assassins mixed with the brides because he was afraid his father will implicate the innocent brides. How can you missed these? These are not even all I have pointed out. Watch the entirety and come back here, if still the role didn't convince you then this genre is not your cup of tea.

Watch his ongoing series "The Snow Moon", though its only 10 mins per episode which I hated.

They deserved it because they are good actors even though they were still new in the industry.

He deserves to have a main role. I’m also happy that Lester Lin is on this project, I really think he’s on the same agency as TJR. And what’s more is that it’s directed by Edgar Guo

It’s a dark Wuxia series and it upholds that one. I am on my rerun now and how I wish I can watch this again for the first time. Still, I couldn’t moved on. This culminated 2 weeks ago and I am still here.
