I think the answer to all of these questions is quite simple. A brain dead script. I mean the writers' brain wasn't involved when they were writing the show, so I'm afraid it's kinda meaningless to try to make sense of things.
I just gotta wonder how is it that it's year 2022 and we get this brain dead plot of literal YAOI, literal as in what the acronym actually stands for - no conflict, no resolution, no meaning. No actual anything. All glitzy show and zero substance. Hit 'em fujoshi over the head with shit load of fan service on and off screen, that'll keep 'em happy! I hate the word fujoshi but that's how Domundi is treating the viewers, like rotten garbage ATM. Also I feel almost insulted by the little crumbs of virtue signaling one or two liners on LGBT rights and personal boundaries. The show talks the talk but never walks the walk.
