Yes and notThe confession and the kiss...yes ..slow ...ep29 if i remember correctly xDBut they develop feelings…
Ha Ha No one could be as annoying as Chu Zhao. The web novel chapter 269 has He Yan thinking for Xiao Jue, there are three preventions. fire prevention, theft prevention and Chu Zhao prevention.
I guess you were fixated on SFL. Well to each his own.

A brief one. Ep. 16. Some women in Jiyang liked XiaoJue and at 3:38, in a clothing store, the Daughter of the Censor tries to make a move on him. He Yan and Xiao Jue were a pretend couple, but he backs her up completely as his wife. The rematch at the banquet was less decisive but the girl's talk at the gazebo was liberating.

I'm re-watching all the episodes! can't seem to move on ....
I've been adding title, episode and time stamps for many recent youtube vides on this drama. So I've been ff episodes to get the info. But stop and watch those scenes where the main couple have important moments. The last three episodes have some moving scenes. Not a waste of time.

I'm on episode 12. The only complaint I have is that they made the fl seems too weak. She is a general who also…
Three fights in an episode. I think that the fights were choreographed well and that she fought them well. A near balanced fight is much more interesting than an obviously unequal one. I think that many viewers believe that drama generals (and drama CEOs) should be the best at everything. And many dramas fall into that. But the general is like a coach or a manager, not the star player.

Excellent summation of viewers. My experience mirrors yours. That ridiculous, totally unnecessary added storyline…
A Familiar Stranger first because Ryan Cheng is a general like here. The FL is not a warrior, but has grit.
Butterflied Lover next because Deng Kai is the second lead male. Some like his story better. I like the first couple. There are enemies, but the real one is circumstance.
The Killer is Also Romantic is like Mr. & Mrs Smith.
Provoke is a Republican era story of revenge.

I actually thought that was kind of realistic. In the novel, FL was pretty dumb when it came to academics. She…
Stranger things are true. WWII RAF recon pilot Adrian Warburton, One of the greatest in the air, yet struggled learning to take off and land. Almost cut short his career. His fame and success came in the twin engine light bomber the Maryland. He and his observer shot down at least five enemy aircraft. His greatest exploits came flying out of Malta during the siege.
Described as 'Six-medal Warburton', all of Warby's gallantry awards were earned while operating from Malta. He remains the most highly decorated RAF photo-reconnaissance pilot of all time.
A great pilot who struggled to learn how to take off and land.

Honestly I really like this drama but for the few last episodes seemed to rushed and not logic..It started from…
Basically the Mother killed her son by providing those letters. She could not let herself live after that.
Chu Zhao's story in the drama became the tension between the two lovers, I guess for added angst. So we are shown how low he can stoop. To crassly tell her Father, who is on death row, partly because of him, that he never loved his daughter.
Having his maid sacrifice her life for him in a moment of truest unrequited love.
Having He Yan tell Chu Zhao to his face that he is responsible for Yan He's death. (I think that it is no coincidence with the similarities of the two names)
I guess the above should have cumulatively had more impact than showing him being convicted and exiled. (to save costs?)
The arrow in the arm. Seriously enough to kill him but not enough to drop him before he arrived in camp.

The director of Blossom also did A Familiar Stranger, The Killer is Also Romantic, Provoke and Butterflied Lovers. He knows how to tell a story.

Agree. But I think that if one can articulate well why the drama isn't working for them, then it can provide food for thought.

My dear Xiao Jue, you may be a fantastic general. But on the chess board, Chu Zhao still is way ahead of you.…
This may be instructive in that military and politicians operate in different worlds and behavior.
The Cadet Honor Code at West Point states: "A Cadet will not lie, cheat, steal, or tolerate those who do"
In the military, codes of honor is much more important because you must trust those to report truthfully and to act without deceit.
Yet the military has to act as the blade and shield of the court. It cannot be otherwise.
The most prominent Chinese general brought down by his own success was Han Xin, who was instrumental in the founding of the Han dynasty but was later executed for treason due to the emperor's fear of his military power. Another significant figure is Yue Fei from the Song dynasty, who became a national hero for fighting the Jurchens but was ultimately executed for political reasons, likely stemming from his immense military prestige and the threat he posed to the ruling elite.

Generals who are successful on the battlefield face scrutiny over loyalty.
There are many examples where the nation's leaders trust political reliability over military acumen. Those countries have had coups as an object lesson. The Republic of South Viet Nam is a good one.

I feel like there are three camps of viewers for this drama hahahaha1 - The ones in it for the visuals, the romance,…
To me the thing about camp 3 is that if I lose interest in a drama, I drop it and it is in the past. Yet the loads of poor reviews and back handed comments here show that they are actively bringing out their knives as if to vent their frustration and hurt. I guess to them it is as if the people making this drama had stepped on their beloved cat.
I like this drama and the cast.
If I wanted realism, I have lots of military themed books.
