There was no regret in fooling him in ep. 1 So she must have seen through him. Her aunt and uncle were pushing the marriage on her. We see no reason why Fan wanted to marry her save talk that she was beautiful and her parent's inheritance. His eyes expressionless, like a snake. Good points. I think that he ended up loving both. But I believe that Han has made the decision that Liu Wan is the one, so that she won't end up like her cousin. There is a mixture of fleeting emotions in her eyes and with her pursed lips as he said that their feelings run deep and that he would wait for her in this life. And then say also in the next life. It is only a matter of time to be together. But he has much to do to prove that it comes from his heart and to ease the hurt in hers. I think that the open ending is karma for how she mistreated Luo Shu at the Linfen county yamen. That shaming was necessary for Luo Shu to move forward, but was very painful. Only the fact that most of Luo Shu's thoughts and reactions were hidden beneath her thoughtful gaze made it less impactful. imho.

Elder Tu indicates that he can't be too evil here. He was very nasty in Destined.
