The human part of the fish demon must be Madam Wu, AKA Qin's Godmother who lost her son on the Elit Armored Guards' patrol. Hence the resentment. She must blame them for his death and the fish demon used that to control her.

Good points. But besides hiding Qin Yi from us until later, why wasn't he there on the day of the bidding? So we are lead to believe that old guy should the bid. Would Jin Nang then be moved to Taiyuan to be with Qin Yi? It also isn't clear how Jin Nang and Magistrate Han first met nor who contacted who. But it stems from the woman who jumped into the river. And her deflowering day was moved up by two months because she was to work on the temple case.

Yishui was supposed to have feelings for Qingge but suddenly he has feelings for Ranran. Before he became Qingge's disciple, he toyed with Wen's feeling to get into the library. If Ranran is exposed as one of the fruit child, then his protective attention to her plus his lack of interest in the fake Qingge would point to which is the real one. But I could be wrong.

He is at least 39 years old. Mebbe 18 when we meet him in ep. 3 plus time in the Eternal Sect and about 3 years to improve as Qingge's disciple and then 18+ waiting for Ranran to mature,.

I wonder why they have Ranran tell Qiu Xi'er that RR is a fruit of the Reincarnation tree? And Su Yishui's childhood friend Wen Hongshan (purple with veil) picked up that he pays special attention to Ranran. It is too early to expose Ranran as Qingge but one or the other might inadvertently reveal Ranran's identity.
