I regret watching this one because it was a bit too long and also kind of messy. BUT there were also some redeeming qualities overall.

Likes:
- I liked the fantastical elements even though the graphic effects were bad. I enjoyed that there was some mystery to it as well as mayhem. Was it done well? Not super, but it was cool that it was there
- Soundtrack was not too bad, props for creativity on storyline and the mythology as well!

Dislikes:
- The reveal of the villains :( Not worth it as I rooted for them at the beginning
- Main female lead was a bit annoying and at times watching her and listening to her was insufferable, but it got better towards the end when she found her footing.

Watch if you're bored, but tbh can skip. If you want a run down of the story, PM me lol.

At first I was actually not going to watch this because I'm not a huge fan of a couple of the main female actresses. However, I got bored one day and decided to go for it. Overall, I think it's a pretty okay drama that centers some pretty great female characters. There were good moments of the five of them coming together and standing up for each other that I felt were really empowering to watch.

Liked:
- I really liked the character of Zhang Sheng Nan and her story. Her perseverance is inspiring.
- I thought that Haha He did a really great job portraying a naive school girl character. She really sold it well in my opinion. She's got the "look"

Disliked:
- The story line of Han Yi Tong and her search for a man. This just felt so overdone and also seemed to miss the mark of a TV show that was focused on females and their friendship.

Watch if you're bored and want a change from the usual rom-com format!

This movie was one of my first Chinese movies as well as my first movie featuring Zhou Dong Yu, who is just a goddess. She is an amazing actress and so so talented. Her own screen chemistry with anyone makes a great story and she just really does the story and character justice!

Likes
- pure, simple love story that is just so beautiful
- lots of feels, so many feels, watch for all the feels.

Easy to follow, beautiful, heartbreaking love story. Shawn Dou is also cute. Watch it, and if you read the book let me know how it compares!

Ok this was not good. Not good at all. I don't think there's enough likes for me to even want to make a list.

Dislikes:
- They changed the entire cast (well most of the cast)! And it just DIDN'T work. Unlike in the Lost Tomb series where they have also changed the cast multiple times, this one just did not work! The characters lost all their chemistry with one another. It was very flat and it felt like they were not portrayed as well. Character growth that happened in the previous two series was not carried forward and everything overall just felt very OFF.

I think don't watch this. Let season 2's ending be the series finale. You'll be a much happier human.

I stumbled onto this drama randomly on Netflix and it took me awhile to get through all 41 episodes of it. I think overall, it was a bit slow for me, however, I thought the overall plot and how all the characters fit together was quite clever. I really enjoyed Victoria Song and Song Weilong and felt their chemistry was super good. I would definitely watch another drama with them in it.

Liked:
- The overall plot! I thought it was really cute. And I really liked how it was about overcoming stigma too. I think all the characters had good chemistry and there weren't any characters that were super hatable.
- Song Weilong <3 He is cute. Very cute. I appreciate him
- There was a natural funniest to the episodes that made everything really light and enjoyable to watch
- It all felt very realistic! I think this was one of the few dramas I've watched where I felt that the characters were logical and made a lot of sense with their actions.

Disliked:
- there was a budding relationship that I found to be inappropriate even though I think the show really tried to cover it up really well/justify it! Also to be honest, the boss/employee relationship thing, but this legit happens in so many dramas, I tend to not mention it/am getting tired of hating on it.
- A bit slow, like idk if this needed to be 41 episodes long

WATCHHH because Song Weilong is CUTE

I really loved this drama! I felt like the two main leads had a lot of chemistry and were very compatible throughout their journey (from being friends to lovers etc). Lots of cute moments, a great story line with just enough drama to keep me hooked. I was also invested in the side characters and their drama!

Liked:
- all the stories came together really well! They all fit together and it all felt RIGHT
- the main female lead was NOT ditzy. I liked that she was good at her job, had her own life, was not all about the male lead, and also stood her ground. She felt like her OWN person. I hate it when the female lead just doesn't shine on her own or is ALL ABOUT THE MALE LEAD.
- the story line was really cute. I liked the added plot line with the game design and how it all came together after going through all the obstacles and such

Disliked:
- the wig the main female lead wore. It was horrible. I don't know why they chose it. It made no sense to me. Her fake hair tied up was even worst!!!
- ok one thing I really didn't like was how she was chased by one the second male lead. The love triangle (sort of) felt stupid to me and did not fit into the story nicely. Those episodes were the draggiest for me and the reason I took off a star.

OVERALL, GIVE IT A CHANCE <3 You will surprise yourself with how fast you go through the series!

Will make your heart flutter and your brain turn to mush

THIS DRAMA. I am blown away. First off, I am an avid reader and absolutely love that this is set in a publishing company with authors and editors thrown into our character pool. Chu Li is the most determined, strong willed, main female lead ever. She is someone that just spews girl boss energy.

The chemistry between the two main leads is off the chart!!! All the mini story arcs and how they dealt with them/interacted...I am blown away.

Would watch this drama again and again. If I could erase it all from memory and rewatch it, I would sell my soul to do it.

WATCH THIS.

I love love love this series and all the characters. This drama was one of the first Chinese dramas I have ever watched. I was probably 3/4 years of age when I watched this series for the first time. I definitely prefer this season over season one.

Likes
- There were more plot arcs in this season featuring cool characters and lots of growth and development
- I think the mean characters (aka the empress) really stepped up her game and brought a lot of drama to this season.
- I also really liked the grandma and her sidekick (who was really nice! and I just wanted her to have a happy ending of her own)
- As always the sound track is amazing and I will forever listen to the songs.
- Our main character is so inspiring. She doesn't let anyone or anything hold her back from what she is trying to achieve. She's also hilarious and many of the laugh points come from Vicki's great acting chops!

Dislikes:
- Honestly, none!

Highly recommend this one if you want a palace drama with amazing costumes and hilarious story. It's definitely very old though, so I wouldn't watch it if you're used to modern palace dramas.

Ok I really liked this one la. Even though I think the plot twist that was used is overdone in both Asian and Western dramas as well as YA books. I still think all the episodes and character development that happened prior to it was really good. Acting was not bad and some characters really brought the dramas as well as emotions.

Liked:
- overall, just really loved the storyline and plot of this one. I am honestly inspired by how nice the main female lead continued to be throughout the story even though she was faced with multiple injustices by multiple characters, some of which were supposed to be her allies.
- the main male lead really grew as a character throughout and it was nice to see the female lead contributing to his growth but not in the way that a female is secondary to their male partner type.
- lots of random bits of drama that was kinda entertaining

Dislikes:
- as much as I liked the random bits of drama, I also dislike the parts that had to do with family and were somewhat confusing/annoying/potentially unnecessary if they were introducing more people. But props to the writers because I think overall it did tie together really well in the end
- female characters that throw away friendships for men. I will NEVER understand this. I did watch one western drama where I felt that this did make sense but it was a mutual relationship and not one sided like in this drama.

WATCH!! it is kinda long though, so maybe put some time aside for it.

So I don't feel like the marketing of this movie as well as the trailer really does the story justice. I think it misses the mark of what the real message of the movie was about.

Likes:
- the deep exploration into relationships and how people can change and move on while also not really moving on. How hard it can be to let go of people, but also the idea of a person in your life. What really hit home for me was the idea that sometimes as much as you want to be with someone, if it's not healthy for you, you really should let it go.
- the characters had good chemistry, the acting was on point, i definitely cried.
- soundtrack was great! Listened to Ti Mian on repeat after I watched this movie

Dislikes:
- the ending felt unsatisfactory, but at the same time I had to accept it because it made sense

I didn't watch any of the previous movies in this series, so I feel you can definitely watch this as a stand alone.

This movie was really heart breaking and beautiful. It was such a brutal imagining of an extremely difficult time period in history. The pain and strife that was portrayed on screen was extremely heart wrenching. I cried. and then I cried again. There was just something so beautiful about how all the characters came together in such a difficult time period.

Likes
- the music really fit the ambience of the scenes and added a lot of value to the cinematography
- great actresses and actors. Acted so well. Were true to the context and the emotions were so raw, I could feel for them.
- the white guy made sense. For once.

These series and the characters are one of my favorites. I grew up watching this series and it was really what got me interested in Chinese dramas, history, and culture.

Likes:
- One of my all time favorite things about this drama was the friendship/sisterhood of the two main female leads. Their loyalty to one another, their love for each other, their willingness to die for each other. THIS is what female empowerment and support looks like! So excited that I got to watch this growing up and had it role modeled to me as a kid.
- The story is HILARIOUS, featuring very humorous characters!
- Enjoy the costumes A LOT. I used to want to own my very own hat thing because I thought they were just so beautiful. And the shoes are kind of ridiculous but I definitely wanted my own pair when I was a kid!

WATCHHHH! A bit dated now, but honestly, worth it

This is one of my all time favorite dramas ever! The acting was A+ and the storyline was so so good. The use of plot devices, time jumps, and characters arcs all created one of the best told stories of the 2000s in my opinion!

Liked:
- The use of time jump to create a full story of a multi generation household and the many obstacles of that historical context/cultural context.
- The characters were amazing!! Well written, great redemption arcs if relevant. You wanted to root for them all, and at the same time wanted to just slap all the villains
- Use of historical and cultural symbols/context to really make it feel like an authentic story of what it was like to grow up a Peranakan women during WW2 and beyond

Dislikes:
- the ending! but I understand it. No spoilers. Just go and watch

I LOVE THIS DRAMA. have rewatched multiple times already. Give it a chance. I think it's on Netflix.

OK. In general, I'm not the biggest fan of the female lead actress so I wasn't going to watch this but I'm pretty glad I did. I really only have one like and dislike for this drama and I feel like they kind of cancel each other out lol. But at the end I still rated 6 stars because I think this drama really pushed me when it came to discomfort with the lack of consent in the drama overall.

Liked:
- Ok so I really liked how the female lead was very head strong and knew what she wanted. Even though at times she could be a little daft or not as perceptive as the other characters, I did think she was very good at standing her ground for most of the drama. I think also all the female characters were pretty great and were portrayed as independent, strong women, which I really loved. They were smart, funny, strong, witty, and they really stood by each other. The female on female fighting/hate was not as strong in this drama as other ones. I really appreciate that because I think it makes no sense for females to be pitted against each other!

Disliked:
- Ok so I know that many Asian dramas, if not ALL of them, really don't portray consent well at all. A really common feature in Asian dramas is the way the male characters are always force kissing the female characters. It kind of really happens in all the dramas and it's always my biggest qualm with Asian dramas! That being said, I think THIS ONE really really pushes it. Like I was constantly really really uncomfortable with how the male lead forced the female lead into situations in which he did not obtain her consent and then somehow it was all okay and she owed him afterwards (watch and you'll know what I mean). Like HELLO?????? that is WRONG????? like I get that you're allergic to everyone but her, but that doesn't mean you can constantly force kiss her ???
Anyways, as I said before, Asian dramas do this a lot, but this one just really was not cool for me. It just felt like it overdid it.

Meh.

This one is cute la. I was really drawn in by the tenacity and determination of the main female lead in trying to achieve her goals. The main male lead was okay only on his own, but I did like them a lot better as a unit.

Liked:
- storyline was really cute. I really appreciated the secondary and tertiary couples as I felt like they added to the story versus being really irrelevant like much of the time in other dramas.
- mean character made the show really entertaining and I really enjoyed/felt good when the main female lead won out in the end!
- good ending! felt like it all really came together at the end

Disliked:
- some of the acting could have been better
- there were parts that felt unrealistic but honestly because everything else worked well for me, I did not really pay much attention to it

If you want something easy to watch, that's light, fluffy, and cute, watch this!
