OK. I get it. This special is basically an over-the-top melodrama version of Cutie Pie. First, Kuea is conflicted in having to choose between his career as Kirin or his marriage to Lian. WTF, Kuea can't be married AND have a career!!?? Second, Kuea acts like a virgin to Lian before their wedding night "wanting IT to be special!" Again, wtf, the two of them "banged" in S1 and they've been together for two years, or was that a "dream sequence?" LMBO! Third, Nuer and Syn have been together two years and STILL have not slept together AND they waited that long to begin "practicing" for the "big event." Wow! Finally, watching Yi and Khon Daio be as stilted as they were when they first got together. What"? No progression for them after two years, too! At first, I thought this "special" was kind of interestingly cute. Now, it's totally something else! What, I have no idea? But at least it's entertaining and gives its fans a "kind-of-sort-of S2," which I guess isn't so bad. HaHaHa!

Now, let's just hope the writers decided to put just a little "realism" in this series, such as the gang that locked Lin Huai in the freezer either being fired, arrested or both! Remember, the manager HEARED them himself.

I agree on all points. I believe it is "different" from other HIStory series in both tone and feel. Previous HIStory series had a dramatic intent (even though some of them had comic elements within them), certainly unlike the "overexaggerated acting and melodrama" you noted. I like that analysis by the way! LMBO! But, I also agree that it is now getting more into the "groove" of previous HIStory series. There's still 12 eps. to go, so I guess will see.

Yep. And, I think it's because they "adapted" too much from the novel and trying to make it different from UWMA (which I really liked and thought was interesting).

This series could've left out most of the side couples and it would've been just fine.

I really don't know what to think about this series! I really don't. I actually really like the series, but I hate the fact that this story plot has been changed from what happened in UWMA. BU story doesn't meld well with UWMA -- meaning they actually feel like two completely separate plots, which would've been great if it hadn't been interwoven with UWMA.

I'm really liking this series. I get it. Palm is following his father's orders in repaying a "debt" to Mr. Pop. I also get it that Neungdiao is a momma's boy. Both are popular tropes in bls. But, it would be nice just once to see a boy in one of these bls stand up to their controlling (and occasionally brutal) parents.

I'm not sure about any of you. But, Li Zhen Hao (Ye Guang) has a "killer" smile that's simply irresistable!

I agree to a point. The problem I had is the "cliche" or stereotype or trope. call it what you will. But, why did the tragedy have to be Yu Xi Gu. Throughout the first eps, he was bullied, beaten up, parents dead, no family, etc. He couldn't catch a break. Then, when he does catch a break, he's killed off. How cliche could you get? If they really wanted to make a point, why couldn't they have killed off Xiang Tao Ting? Now, that would have made the point.

Agreed. This series reminds me of the first two seasons of HIStory. IMO, they were great and this is too.

I'm not really sure what to make of this series. It wasn't bad. It was definitely dramatic. It had an interesting plot. And, it had good-looking leads, with good chemistry. However, IDK, a plot as tragic and as hopeless as one about the end of the world is really kind of depressing, no matter how dramatic you make it look. I'm kind of glad about what happened at the very end.
