Y'all let's get real about this drama! First off, I am a major Seo In Guk fan. From his role in Reply 1997, Hello…
For me, it was the lack of development & characterizations. Honestly, Doom doesn’t have much of a personality. I’m not saying he can’t be gloomy or stoic but the execution, he comes off as bland because the audience barely knows who he is for the first 4 episodes other than he’s just a death god set walking on earth. He also doesn’t do much either. He talks, walk, & move within & outside of his home. I’m not familiar with SIG’s dramas but he is just okay here. With TDK, the writer wanted the audience to sympathize with her misfortunes by throwing all these ‘pitiful’ tropes onto her in the first episode but it way too much. PBY is a very good actress but her drama projects rarely excites me.
The story didn’t really have a set up for Doom. I’m not trying to compare this to Goblin because I also have major issues with that drama but Goblin had a story set up for him from the get go in episode 1 so the readers can understand where he comes from. Although DAYS included fantasy elements into the story, it lacked any concise magic system.
It terms of the romance, they met quick & liked each other quick. There wasn’t any grounds to build from so it lacks development. The love between the two doesn’t feel organic or believable at all. Also, another major issue I had is the dialogue. It is not good. Doesn’t have substance & it is repetitive. I’ve only watched 1/4 of the drama but if DAYS still interest you then you should continue it & see if it’s worth your time or not.
It’s giving me Hannibal Lector vibes but without the human eating lol. Sounds interesting. GAS in a crime drama yes! Nice to see her in a drama again since Life on Mars.
To each their own, but drama's perfect the way it is to me. It truly felt like I was reading a novel the way the…
I have my own gripes about the show but I didn’t hate it. I found it entertaining. It’s more so certain plot devices written into the drama that bugged me.
It’s sad how some aren’t able to appreciate the way the story is crafted and how it’s more than just “finding…
There isn’t a ‘right’ way to watch this. People can watch this and say it’s not really there cup of tea and that’s fine. Some people love it some people hate it some find it boring. There are praises & there are valid criticisms. Like you say, it’s all about preference. No one isn’t really stopping anyone from watching it. If people want to watch it, go for it. If not, watch a different drama lol.
That's literally the point of the series. They're not supposed to be this straight-forward, amazing detectives.…
DS had his finger prints all over Min Jeong’s phone. What if the police department thought he was the culprit when if they found the phone? I’m speaking in a general sense since most time in crime dramas, writers make main characters who work in the police department do things that lack logic & actions that prolong certain situations. That’s what I find ‘absurd’. That’s something that I notice in most crime dramas.
I ‘get’ the point of the drama. Almost every crime drama, cops are incompetent & there’s corruption. I like the story just not entirely the execution. This drama had moments in the beginning but it is just ‘okay’. But that’s my opinion. Agree to disagree.

I don’t expect them to be perfect or know it all but these people have or had high ranking positions in the police department & years of experience. I get that their flawed characters but I’m more so talking about the way they handled things. Like for instance when DS was going around putting those evidence in different area to lead the cops for days when he could’ve went straight to the police that night when he knew or had a hunch who it was. He had a concrete evidence but he waited out. What if the ‘guy’ potentially murder someone else right after Min Jeong?
I mean Ji Hoon got handcuffed instantly & interrogated from a lack of evidence. Taking those fingers & phones to the police is enough evidence to have the ‘guy’ arrested or interrogated & have his house searched from the ground up. DS had a phone with him, could’ve record the evidence or take a picture of the situation at that time. I’m making a general comment how incompetent the police department are written since it always seems to be an occurring thing in most crime dramas whether it’s intentional or not lol almost to a point of absurdity. Because of that, their actions cost them big time.
For a 3x Baeksang Arts Awardee, the drama had several ridiculous moments. The obstruction & contamination of evidence was beyond unbelievable lol. Like DS was a former inspector that’s suppose to be uber intelligent but he’s touching major evidence lol & basically wasted so much time. The incompetence of the police department was super jarring. How do they still have their job lol? I’m not sure if I’m suppose to take anyone here seriously lol. I didn’t really buy YJG’s performance here as JW. Maybe because I found the character written blandly. Didn’t see much development between DS & JW relationship as partners. Most of the time, JW suspected DS as a criminal or the people around him as bad folks. The drama definitely had potential to be compelling but it felt a bit muddled & prolonged with the back & forth situations. I would say it’s a pretty easy show to watch. The music score & OST is really good!
A lot of kdramas on MLD tend to be rated high from the start even when it’s not done yet lol. I think it’s…
Yeah I agree. If ratings aren’t allowed yet maybe until it’s halfway point, It probably would give a more balance or concise opinion what people overall think about the show. But good thing about reviews is it helps whether people want to invest in a show like this.
Dong Na outfits is very befitting of her character. Simple & not over the top.

He’s great in Mr Sunshine & Six Flying Dragons.
Really good performance from SHK!
I stray away from KES’s projects. This is her only ‘decent’ one lol & I say that even with my teeth clenched lol.
