Example as to why we shouldn't be allowed to vote on dramas right from the start number 566974
A lot of kdramas on MLD tend to be rated high from the start even when it’s not done yet lol. I think it’s because this drama garnered a large audience of watchers, it upscales the ratings. We’ll see how it ends when reviews starts kicking in.
I shouldn't have been here in comment section, now my mind is really in a mess because I don't know anymore if…
There’s a good discussion about the drama whether it is pro or con but If you’ve been enjoying the drama this far then you should continue watching it. If not, then there’s still plenty of dramas to watch lol.
At this rate I’m just feeling bad, because it seems that I’m one of the few who still loves this drama and…
I’m not sure if I saw any comments regarding my roommate is a gumiho here lol, unless it’s buried somewhere.
I think it’s all about preference. I haven’t seen that show so I can’t really make a comment lol. I know that both shows include an ancient magical dude lol.
I mean I was around when the drama was airing but I stopped watching at episode 32 lol. I made some comments here & there.
I’m just surprised by the large audience it has reached here. Hmm… I’m not sure why it blew up but I think a lot of the people find the characters engaging.
Well said! Am also not a fan of romance driven plots or shows that shoehorn in the romance. Can you share some…
I avoid dramas that falls into the romance genre mostly because of preference.
But the thing the romance genre has changed immensely in kdramaland both in writing & broadcasting. Twenty years ago, the romance, melodrama, historical, and family drama were huge because of public tv. Now there’s cable networks and a variety of genres to enjoy & watch. Id say romance drama twenty years ago age badly lol.
I think this will be a great project for PSJ after itaewon class to shy away from that ‘romcom king’ title. Really like to see him in more serious roles/darker genres for dramas.
Kdramas tend to have a large following on MDL so it upscales the ratings. DAYS hasn’t ended yet. Once it ends there’s an going to be an influx of reviews so there might be a change in ratings.
Even if some don’t like or hate it, they may still want to watch it if there is any progression or what not…
I love writing reviews for shows that I watch but I think 16 episodes for a show like this is a tad long given the situation of the meandering plot and unengaging characters. I don’t feel thoroughly engrossed to watch it all the way through so 1/4 of it is where I’m at a standstill lol. Watching 4 episodes is enough for me to formulate an overall opinion seeing how it plays out later on reading the comment section lol.
I am sure that all those people talking sh*t and saying they are dropping the show, will still watch the show.…
Even if some don’t like or hate it, they may still want to watch it if there is any progression or what not if it gets better or not.
As for handful of watchers, specifically those who write reviews, sometimes it takes an entire show to watch to formulate an honest opinion or criticism/written critique.
Honestly, I think for a show like this watching 1/4 of it was enough lol.
Omg! I so agree with you. I started losing interest around ep 5-6 and now it's just barely tolerable. The beginning…
TDK was internet searching how to love someone’s as the last straw for me lol.
TDK & Doom are literally forcing themselves in a corner they didn’t want to be in the first place. The problem is that ‘love’ between the two is the only major (exceedingly dull) plot point that’s driving the story remotely anywhere or completely nowhere lol. The lack of development is also an issue. Everyone seems bored stiff. How am I suppose to care about the relationship between the two main characters if they weren’t wholeheartedly for it to begin with?
They’re just running their mouths & looking pretty at this point lol.
The dialogue between TDK & Doom is the same thing over again in almost every episode. Honestly don’t care about the secondary characters or the whole bland romance that’s stirring up. You can write them out and it wouldn’t put a dent to the story. It seems like the whole ‘push & pull’ will be reoccurring nonsensical conundrum between TDK & Doom through out.
Out of all the new releases of dramas this year that I’ve seen, so far this has to be one of the most uneventful-ill plotted. Weak logic to the magic system with no world building. I still don’t know anything about Doom other than he’s just a walking talking ash machine. Why would TDK risk her life protecting a god who she barely has any emotional connection or decent interaction with who obviously can’t die? He’ll be fine if he gets stabbed lol. I’m barely 5 episodes in but it’s a ‘dropped’ for me.
Anything Kim Tae Ri is in, it’s an automatic watch. She’s such a versatile and charming actress to watch onscreen. She’s so great, it’s tricky to find actors with a caliber to match her unless they are veteran actors or an actor with a more polished acting skills & Nam Joo Hyuk just doesn’t have that factor.
Although I’m a skeptic & prefer a different actor, the story sounds interesting so let’s see if Nam Joo Hyuk can prove me wrong for this role!
It’s not the romance genre that’s an issue, it’s more likely the execution. Romance genre tend to be over saturated with cliches & tropes that are hamfisted most of the time that lacks nuance or development. Romance that serves as a major plot device usually is a kill buzz for me. If it is not the main focus & decently well written that doesn’t involve unnecessary misunderstandings and whatnot but with mutual form of respect & love, then count me in. I’m not saying relationships based on romance have to be this perfect entity between two individual but conflicts tend to be written annoyingly over the top when it can simply be fixed with proper communication. I adore healthy representation of love even if it’s not written or shown heavily or in grandiose way. Sometimes the little moments can have a huge impact.
Please don’t stress out too much lol.

This drama is lacking in condiments & flavor lol. Where's the spice, right?!

There’s so much traffic here, it’s hard to type while commenting lol.
I honestly don’t think the pacing is the issue. It just happens to be a very uneventful type of drama set on a winding carousel lol.
