Yes!!! Well, I have watched a few Xianxia before but this is my first Wuxia. Am I qualified? xDDD
Are you referring to that troll who is a fan of "that certain BL adaptation drama"? Then I suggest you just ignore them :) For someone who is totally beginner to wuxia, it can be overwhelming since it is normal to have a large universe with many characters and sub-plots. I'm not totally new to wuxia but I've been used to watching J-drama for a long time so watching a wuxia again still feels a bit overwhelming, especially towards the end where there are some plot holes. But personally I feel WOH is still fairly easy to understand, and if I have to compare with "certain BL adaptation" I find it more difficult and confusing to understand due to the constant back and forth flashbacks.
Unfortunately there are not many drama like this currently, but stay tune for the many upcoming BL adaptations…
Guardian is the reason I fell into the world of Chinese BL ^^ the chemistry between the two main leads are off-the-chart and no wonder the drama was so popular back then. But I must warn you beforehand, in terms of the drama itself (plot, production value, CGI etc) it's not a good one, the plot is illogical, cheap production value and CGI and bad acting from some of supporting roles. The only saving grace is the amazing chemistry of the main leads and that's the only reason I fell in love with it. The original novel is amazing, too bad the drama kinda butchered it beyond recognition :(
Just finished this and it is 10/10 for me. I will rate it more than 10 if I can (sigh). Can anyone suggest to…
Unfortunately there are not many drama like this currently, but stay tune for the many upcoming BL adaptations that may (or may not) coming this year (Immortality, Winner is King).
"The world is not important, but my soulmate is. " ❤my new-found separation anxiety and I re-watching it all…
I'm excited for Mo Du/Light the Darkness! If you've seen the sneak-peak of Zhang Xin Cheng as Fei Du, he really nailed it in terms of appearance alone. He looks like he walks straight out of the novel.
It's great that we got the BTS of scenes with GJ and ZZH's real voice. GJ's voice fits WKX very well. ZZH is great too, but I'm also grateful for the voice actor who managed to make ZZS's voice softer and more gentle. In one of the BTS when WKX is waking up ZZS, he sounds like he's gonna beat up WKX into pulp for waking him up XD
I know that most praises are for the main leads(and for right reason as they were wonderful in their role), but…
Agree. One thing I appreciate most in this drama is that all the supporting casts are great and I haven't found any awkward acting from any of them. Even all the young actors such as Sun Xilun, Zhou Ye and Ma Wen Yuan are doing great job, not to mention the other more senior actors. It really makes the whole drama watching more enjoyable.
There is one thing that I noticed - It might just be my imagination/ interpretation but - Episode 21 when WKX…
Is that the scene where he trailed off and smirked? Yeah, after reading all the analysis, many viewers believe so. It's sort of the last resort if Da Wu is still unable to save ZZS. The interesting thing is the fans are wondering why he smirked after saying that sentence? It turned out that if he transferred the Liuhe skill to WKX, in order for it to work and for both of them to survive, they need to practice "dual cultivation". For the meaning of dual cultivation, you can refer to the Ending of ZZS and WOH in Discussion Forum, then you can guess why he smirked ;D
Here are all 3 WenZhou chibi doll sets. How do you chose? They are all so adorable. https://twitter.com/jiuxiaoer/status/1385919841488437252?s=21
They are all sooo cutee!! But if I have to pick, the first will be immortal Wenzhou, then tea tavern and peach blossom garden. Maybe I'll get the first one.
LMAO this is so true! Imagine if we have ZZH as WKX, we might not even have WOH aired since it's so outrageous XD
I'd really like to see ZZH as shameless flirty character, he'll totally nail it.
