It's actually a popular opinion. Many praise ZXC's portrayal of Pei Su. Explicit BL is gone but those subtle glances…
I would at any time choose implicit BL that demands actors' superb acting skills compared to explicit BL that is blatantly shoved to your face just to cover the actors' crappy acting skills. I found that most of China's "bromance" dramas that became popular relies heavily on the actors' skills to interpret and act the "read between the lines" feelings and stories, which is obviously not an easy thing to do and they did it very well.
Douban rating has come out at 7.0 and already rated by over 22K viewers. It's very impressive considering only 8 eps were released so far. Hopefully with this positive response from the audience YK will continue releasing the rest of the eps!
Is it me or Zhang Xi looks unbelievably beautiful in this role? I can't take my eyes of how these glasses complement…
You're definitely not alone :) ZXC usually looks like an innocent boy-next-door, but oh boy he looks totally different here and that's what Fei Du/Pei So is supposed to look like: thin, delicate and seductive.
how is it queer baiting when it's based on a BL novel ? queer baiting is when it's "would they or wouldn't they"…
I agree with you regarding other countries BLs, they tend to be shorter with lighter stories and plot and most of them are modern stories. Only China has the money and resources to make longer, more epic with more plot dramas, I will gladly devour any "bromance" dramas that come out of them.
Guys let's not get ourselves agitated...Remember they dropped the first 8 episodes without any warning or promotion???So…
I agree with you, the whole "new eps are supposed to be released every Sat" thing is just people's assumption, based on other dramas release pattern. YK never published any schedule in the first place, I think they did that on purpose. I will be more worried if they publish a schedule but then fail to follow it. Let's pray to BL gods that it will eventually be released and in the meantime I will be re-reading the novel 😄
How is it so far? I just realized this is already airing after i saw rose-blackpink’s photo controversy used…
It's great. As a novel reader, I'm very delighted to see the drama stays true to the original source and a lot of novel readers are happy too. ZXC is the perfect embodiment of Fei Du/Pei Su, both on his looks and his acting. Even though you haven't read the novel, it's a good detective/investigation drama, the plot is quite well-written and the casts, including the supporting characters are excellent.
With Youku updating the subtitles of the released episodes, hopefully they will release the new episodes with…
I just checked Youku's app, the subtitles until up 7 is fine, but ep 8 is still rather messy. But I think it will also be updated very soon. I just don't understand why they don't even release it on YK's Youtube for the free episodes, I'd love to watch it on bigger screen and this show definitely needs more attention and recognition from international audience too.
ZXC is doing great as PS so far and his look is pretty on point to the novel. Be curious to see if he can pull…
Fei Du/Pei Su is definitely the highlight of the story due to his personality and very complex character. While LWZ's character is pretty much straight forward, a rough, hot-headed but kind cop, which rather pales in comparison with PS character. But both of them definitely have amazing chemistry both in the novel and drama.
they didn't release one yet, the show's offical weibo only posted that red/new poster and that was it no new updates…
Thank you! They only have one post all this time, while the drama's super topic has reached no 1. What are they doing?? So sad to see that the actors can't have all the recognition they deserve.
Rumored schedule for Justice in the darkFebruary 25: Episode 9-13March 4: Episode 14-18March 11: Episode 19-23March…
Thanks for sharing the info! If the schedule is true and if the rumor or Winner is King airing in March is also true, then we will have two adaptations of Priest's BL airing at the same time!
Hahhah ikr, I wonder why his cat is named Frying Pan and if it's him or Pei Su (Or Tao??) that named it. We need…
LWZ named the cat himself, in the novel the cat's name is Luo Yiguo (a pot surnamed Luo). He is a very fat and snob cat who regards his master as his personal litter box's attendant. He was initially a street cat picked up by Tao Ran and was given to Fei Du. But after few days, the cat was returned to Tao Ran and eventually given to LWZ. LWZ was annoyed and swore that if Tao Ran didn't find a new owner for the cat soon, he will stew him in a pot, hence the name lol.
I don't know if this helps anyone, but I'm reading the novel and re-watching the episodes... and they match! Some…
I also re-read the novel and yes, they literally take a lot of scene and dialogues straight from the novel! Including a lot of Pei Su and Luo Weizhao's banters. As a novel reader, I can't be happier seeing the scenes in novel come to live.
Fei Du = Pei Su
Luo Wenzhou = Luo Weizhao
Tao Ran = Tao Ze
Xiao Hai Yang = Xiao Han Yang
Lang Qiao = Lan Qiao
