Yeah agree he actually more handsome in start up. I thought he always had that smile line until I started watching his other works. I like the smile lines too.

I noticed too. In catch the ghost his face doesn't have that smile line (maybe because he is much skinnier there?) but in start up the lines comes out. It is only one year apart catch the ghost and start up. But he is still so handsome imo.

Kim seonho is definitely a great actor. You can bring up all other actors name but you can't dismiss the fact that seonho is the best actor in start up that his potrayal of HJP is so good.

Idk what you are talking about like his waikiki character, catch the ghost character, strongest delivery an character are all different. And HJP definitely different from the rest too.

The Cha twins and the cha family are my fave. Everytime Professor Cha and his family scenes comes out I'd laugh so much

One thing I like about the ending is that gyuri and jisoo care for each other. And I hate minhee cause she tried to put it onto gyuri and jisoo.

I hate her. Like he is the one providing you security when you sleeps with psychos just to please your boyfriend but now you blaming others but yourself.

I think she wants to make it different from cyrano but failed since cyrano is a lovestory trope that people like.

But I don't think drama that does not follow cyrano will not do well because some dramas actually do like dream high(which PHR wrote) and I heard Strong woman do bong soon also one of Drama that doesn't follow cyrano and people like the main lead because they are cute together. I'm planning to watch strong woman do bong soon so that I could compare it with start up haha.

I love her other dramas though I only watch the one with suzy in it and I hear your voice. I get your point about the lessons from start up, I do recognise it unfortunately they did not deliver it well plus the fact that the characters are inconsistent like when dosan said dalmi is his pride while he should have gone past that since he was supposed to get a character development when he said he did not want to be his dad pride (did PHR forgot what she wrote) and the draggy love triangle.

About there are more HJP people that one I agree not because HJP cold and always criticise but because he is realistic and approach things in logic and realistic ways . In real life especially when you are adult you have so many responsibilities that you cannot afford to make things without plans. If you are a kid or adult like dosan who still has parents to support financially for years or if you do not have a lot to lose then maybe yeah being a reckless dreamer would help you. Adulting is tiring and it is harsh world out here. Work hard so you can dream big. With hard work that dream will eventually comes by one day(though connections and money will always beats the herd worker). Though I think dosan in the end has become more reasonable person than he is in earlier episode but that sailing without a map is just not the quote to teach people. They miraculously win with Saling without map is because it is a Drama. Only lucky and few people succeed without help. When you are sailing without map, you can only survive if luck is by your side. That is gambling your life. With lots of responsibilities is it worth it to gamble your life and others around you? Though it gave good message to people who wants to dream big and doesn't limit themselves within their comfort zone or known capabilities, I just hope people are not too reckless because the real world is harsh.

Well Start-up is not PHR best work imo but It doesn't change the fact that she did great scripts and dramas in the past.

Yeah most people kinda know dosan dalmi is endgame because of the poster and also only they have interview with just two of them at the beginning of the show. I don't think she change the endgame because also said he confirm his role after suzy and NJH did. No way NJH will choose a character that is not the main lead plus not getting the girl.

If only the dosanxdalmi endgame execution is better, in terms of the writing, potrayal then people would not be so hang up with the show after it ended. Most of dosan dalmi scene doesn't include heart fluttering moments because they already like and date each other from the right go. There were less fluttering moments to warm the viewers up and then suddenly the viewers were given passionate kids scene out of nowhere. The thing I don't understand is that dosan dalmi scenes together takes almost half or maybe more of the show but they always show unnecessary moments that doesn't include heart fluttering moments. Half of the time their scenes when they are talking with each other before the reveal(HJP as the dosan in letter) is about the letters from 15 years ago and how dalmi is grateful like dosan from 15 years ago so and so on... which viewers know in reality is HJP so I guess that is why it doesn't seems real to some viewers on how dosan and Dalmi ending up with each other. Like how did the two ended up falling with each other, is it just because dalmi is pretty, they kiss and dosan big hands? The writer could have put more than that and give more heart fluttering scenes of them falling for each other. But they did not give that and so the viewers just need to constantly remind themselves that dosan and Dalmi will end up with each other because that's is what the poster show and that is what the promotion video /interview shows instead of showing the viewers the two are meant for one another by showing it from the drama itself. No offence to PHR but I watch the show from ep 1 anticipating dosan as the main guy (eventhough he only appear at the end of ep 1 I was actually rooting for Dosan character since yeah he is main lead) but PHR failed to deliver that and so I got stuck with liking the second lead more. The many symbolism for hjpxdalmi are unnecessary for the show because it just confuses the viewers. The writer set herself up with the love triangle agenda. And if she wanted to do a love triangle she should be fair to HJP as well. Dalmi has never given HJP a chance.

The writer made HJP with the backstory and put symbolism for hjpxdalmi while she gives dosan all the time with dalmi.(while not giving HJP any chances at all even in the 3 years without dosan) I guess the writer thought it will be balance up by doing this and make viewers favoring dosan by making writing many scenes for dosanxdalmi.

Imo I don't think the plot change because KSH said that NJH and Suzy already confirm their role long before he confirm his role. Plus the writer actually wrote start up for Suzy to act in it and waited for her for 2 years. So I guess the plot did not change, which explain why the scenes for Dosan and Dalmi are so many in the drama. Maybe HJP being loved so much is the unexpected thing.

I just rewatch start up until episode 10 again for two days straight because I was missing Jipyeong and jidal. I really enjoy jidal interaction eventhough we only have a few of them only.

Okay I already watch ep 4, I like Suho. Seojun is just using jukyung.

Never had one before HJP. Even in start up I was rooting for NDS at first since I already know he is the main lead when I first watch the show but yea HJP hits different. The second sls that I probably may have is a situation where I don't care who ended up with who, the currently airing true beauty drama between seojun and Suho. Both guys deserve her but maybe I like seojun a bit more? But I still like Suho as main lead and he ending up with jukyung.

Yeah they should have ended the love triangle early because nothing actually change. Should focus more onthe business part. And they should have tone down the romance because the drama is heavily focus on romance that is not even interesting since the chemistry is lacking.

What if the love interest of the main lead is a ghost sincw she seems to possess the main lead haha. That means the romance tag is dead. No happy ending.

Yeah same it has so much potential with all the parralel symbolism that I felt I was robbed of the feeling of the enjoyment of watching the drama. That is why I am stuck reading au now. Never had a Drama did this to me. I'm watching so many dramas right now just to forget this feeling of how this drama could be so much better and how much I could enjoy it.

Watching the episodes by marathon is probably different than waiting for the episodes every week. So you might not get sls by watching it continuously. I hope you enjoy the drama. Some people did not enjoy it because we are attached with the second main lead and we have a week to analyse the drama before getting another episode so that is why people were much more critical of the drama. But I think watching the episodes in one go would probably help you better in enjoying the drama.
