He figures it out by episode 25 and she confirmed by episode 26
Actually agreed it is not bad, also the ml dont really care for her identity anyway it doesnt even matter whether she lied cause he is already in love with her, he said it himself. he is only pissed about her trying to steal GMD since he already told her what it meant to him
He figures it out by episode 25 and she confirmed by episode 26
You said you drop at episode 15? but why you know in details of episode 19 and up to episode 25? Butit is good to take time off the drama and you can just go back to it after it completed.
As good as Liu Yu Ning was in this drama, It was Li Yi Tong who carried this drama. She had an impeccable performance…
I think Nan Heng character hard carried the show for my first watch because I stay for Nan heng even though the show was rage baiting in the middle parts and dragging it . Both actors did great and Li Yi Tong has great comedy acting skills, but this is LYN first drama that i watch and I became his fan because of his acting and started watching all of his other shows.
Ι agree! I'm rewatching now and I'm on ep20. FL's actions are consistent and justifiable, and so are the ML's.…
Yes I noticed Nan Heng apologised for a lot of things and it is actually because SYM deserves those apologies. Second time rewatch and it makes a lot of sense. I still get annoyed by the emperor though. But for me, the only one not redeemable is CGH, the script made sure that he is a total nonsense hypocrite person fitting to be a total villain that his action will never be justifiable. Even CGH as a kid is evil to me.
I just rewatched it, and I can say it’s my favourite show of 2025. Now that I understand the female lead’s character better, her actions make a lot more sense and don’t feel as frustrating. The comedy, soundtrack, camera work, and cinematography are all top-notch which elevate the rewatch value. I feel like many of the reviews were too harsh or overly focused on the female lead without trying to understand her character. At its core, this drama is comedy-based, and that’s where its real strength lies. A well-executed comedy is something you can enjoy again and again.
I have a different opinion about his acting. Personally, I think he has some of the best micro-expression and eye-acting skills I’ve seen. I’ve only been a fan of his for less than a month, but I’ve already watched three dramas where he plays the male lead, and I’ve been consistently impressed and satisfied with his performances.
He’s also praised by directors and fellow actors for his dedication. He often shows up on set without a script because he’s already memorized all his lines — which is quite rare in the industry. On top of that, he often ad-libs, showing how deeply he understands his character. So when you brought up the "reading lines off a cue card", well it doesnt applies to him cause he doesn’t even need one.
In ADWAD, he managed to portray three different version of his characters, which speaks volumes about his range and talent. It’s honestly a shame that he entered the acting industry so late. For me, his portrayal of Nan Heng is what carried the show especially when the storyline started to drag in the middle. The female lead’s inability to emotionally connect with the male lead made the pacing feel off, which I believe was more a result of the script than the actors. It felt like total rage bait to the audience.
Despite that, many viewers stayed engaged because they truly empathized with Nan Heng (which shows the rage bait actually worked, ironically), and I believe Liu Yuning’s acting played a huge role in making that possible.
That said, you're absolutely entitled to your opinion, and I respect that. I'm just sharing my personal perspective as someone who’s recently come to admire his work.
Will Nanheng clash with NanFeng if there is 2nd season? they literally the same person cause NanHeng is based…
I also read theory on 4 dimensions being dreams within a dream. That just explains the lighting part in the early episode when song xiao yu was strike with lighting to enter the dream and the last epsiode when song yi meng said that if she ever like nan feng she will be strike with lighting
After completed two drama of his i became a new fan. I'm obsessed with his drama OST too. I think his latest drama a dream within a dream is his best performance while prisoner of beauty is the better drama. Currently, I'm watching journey to love and i enjoyed it a lot.
After completing this, my thoughts were I was engaged with the story cause how furstrated i was in the middle because of the female lead and I empathised a lot with the ml. At first i thought romance was non exixtent cause how stubborn the female lead is but after Nan Heng managhed to convice her and she embraced the fact that she likes him . Ep 37 was epic.. Eventhough i gave this lower rating than prisoner of beauty(mainly cause the the fmela lead character in the middle being stubborn is kinda draggy) but i enjoyed this drama more because of the comedy and the last 4 episodes. Also after reading fan theories on 4 dimensions the script was really good though I wish they focus on that.
I randomly watch liu yuning a dream within a dream 2 weeks ago i didnt even know him and it was still ongoing at that time so i binge watch this drama and im glad i did. Storykine was great maybe the ending was a bit rush but the leads shows a good slow burn romance drama. Im not used to slow burn romance but this was good though i think 1 year of mourning is too much. First time I got attach to a cdrama and liu yuning just set a bar for me for a cold but warm and charismatic war god lead. Song zu er acting was good too. It was really a great drama.
I just randomly voted for liu yuning and song zu er cause they actually perform esepcially liu yuning with 2 great dramas back to back. Shock reading the toxic comment section now people cant even vote for who they think perfrom the best. I havent watch cdrama for a long time now last i watch a cdrama was like 3 or 4 years ago but they managed to entertained people. Im not used to online drama community but kdrama fans need to tone down their arrogance and superior mentality.
Is every new voter just voting Liu Yu Ning and Song Zu Er? The votes gap between them and others is getting more…
im a new voter cause finally i watch cdrama again and voted for both liu yuning and song zuer. i hope kdrama fans stop putting the cast down cause they did good
i stsrted watching c drama again because of liu yuning and it happen by chance and kdrama these days are just bad . also to say chinese drama fans are organised thats not true cause kdrama has more fans worldwide and even here so just let people rate.
Can we stop the c-drama vs k-drama fight? People in Korea watch c-drama and people in China watch k-drama so why…
I voted for liu yuning as well. both a dream whithin a dream and the prisoner of beauty was great. especially in a dream within a dream his performance was great
Now I want a second season watching Nan Heng adapt to the modern world. Lolol
Will Nanheng clash with NanFeng if there is 2nd season? they literally the same person cause NanHeng is based on NanFeng. i wonder how the plot will be if there is second season.
The movie is okay, it was a great attempt and enjoyable for this kind of genre. I love how they all speak in their own language. Looking forward fro more kmovies like this. The one thing bothered me in the movie is captain jang, I think it is a miscast since she lacks the charisma and facial expressions because her face is too baby face.
