Everything you need in a travel show
As someone who loves Greece & variety shows, 'I Am Ground' was a big hit with me!! From the very first episode, the four cast members displayed incredible chemistry both among themselves and with the guests they invited. It was super heartwarming seeing everyone becoming closer to one another as the show progressed :')Even though they did not speak the same language, they were able to bond through various games. They got to experience a bit Korean culture and go home with a great memory. My only complaint is that there are only a mere 4 episodes — I would have happily watched 10+!
'I Am Ground' is a show anyone can enjoy. I really hope there will be a season 2.

Great plot, too little time.
I jumped into this show completely blind, and boy did they take a completely different route compared to your usual K-BL Drama! In terms of the core storyline, I wasn't quite sure I would enjoy it. But to my surrpise it sailed through it brilliantly and had me hooked from the start. From the the game inspired notifications and glitches that occured throughout the series, to the more realistic scenarios. It was very cool & fresh to see them try something new!! I also found the production and cinematography to be quite good overall. It was the plot holes that would later appear that I was most diappointed with. They may have gotten a little ahead of themselves with the plot.. There was so much they wanted to convey, but we're given too little time to properly execute most of it. Which led to a lot of unfinished storylines. Even though they had a longer run-time than most other KBLs, it seemed to me like they tried to cram a lot of stuff into a small timeframe.
On the positive side, Taevin's acting was really good! His acting really made the show worthwhile. His desire to try and make Yeowoon live a happy life and learn to love himself more was really sweet. But what about the side characters?? I feel like they became more & more forgotten as the story progressed. Kyunghoon for example, wasn't his whole purpose to become closer with them and form a bond? We got to know very little about his character. (Except the fact that he's in a long distance relationship with someone, somewhere...) As for Sangwon, his story was barely touched on as well. Initially, I assumed he would be a love rival! But he was also just shoved to the sidelines. They just existed, I guess.
I would be lying if I said I didn't enjoy watching the show though! There were many aspects and things I liked, it just felt a little rushed towards the end and it's sad they couldn't reach their full potential. If it was a bit longer with more room for development in the side characters, I might have given a higher score. But it is still a show I would recommend others to watch ^^

Good but repetetive.
(No major spoilers, just comments regarding character traits.)Quite enjoyed this show! Well, certain parts a whole lot more than others. I felt there were too many repetitions of the main characters' traits. Yoojae was quite toxic throughout the entire show and Hanjoon continously blurted out things he would later regret. It was the epitome of pining. Constant misunderstandings that leave you frustrated & whenever you think things are getting better, boy are you wrong. Going from super emotional to super happy and right back to sad again. Because of these parts, I found it difficult to enjoy the show.
My conclusion; Pining is definetely not something for me! If you enjoy that, then this show is for you. Nevertheless their acting was pretty good and I enjoyed watching that! But I would be lying if I said I didn't want to punch my screen a few times ^^

Sea of laughter
As an avid travel variety show fan (and a CNBLUE fan), I immediately fell in love with this show! The trio travels around various islands & interact with locals while experiencing island life. Everyone is super sweet and the atmosphere is always really unserious with laughter at every turn. In addition to the main cast, there are also guests for each episode, the most memorable one for me was Tae Hangho, but they were all very well chosen.
Island Trio is by far one of my favorite variety shows. It is impossible not to laugh whenever these three people are together! Their chemistry is incredible and I don't think I'll ever have enough of it. Seriously, Hodong & Yonghwa can never go wrong. Ever since they got closer during their "Let's Eat Dinner Together" shoot, they have gotten along extremely well. It's a shame so little of the show was subtitled :(
