For me the bar quality is in carving it yourself. I have family members and friends that have fancy expensive kitchen appliances because they love to cook and want to turn everything they cook into an experience. So if I had to take the example of the people I know irl, this fridge takes the experience away. while there are ways of freezing clear ice at home with freezers us normal people use.

I can understand that for this narrative it's marketed as a luxury item for a specific demographic. understanding it tho doesn't make it any less hilarious.

I'm at the end of episode 5 and the writing is getting flatter by the minute.

Leaving a task force that they've spent 5 episode building a narrative that it's a great career opportunity because you can't handle the possibility that your boss, who you have a crush on, is leaving after the project ends is bollocks.

The 2nd lead storyline is also getting flatter. The marriage narrative feels out of touch and dated.

I know it's a luxury item, but it's still a ridiculous concept to go with to show "innovation." Especially when he took her to a bar, where the ice is carved by a professional mixologist into a sphere to show her why it's important - in that setting it's the overall experience that makes it special, and not the material.

If someone is that invested in having clear spherical ice, they would be interested in learning how to do it themselves and not have their freezer do it for them. In a similar way of how someone who is invested in cooking, they would learn how to cook certain things professionally and not buy the ingredients readily made. Methods on how to get clear ice already exist, even at home.

I love how office dramas create work problems about things that already exist without any issues. A task force for round ice 😆

Yokoyama Yu is the only one with a significant gap, and considering he was an antagonist who purposefully meant to look like he's ordinary with a super ego, he played the part well. A few wrinkles didn't really matter.

I don't consider Takeru Satoh being in his mid-30s old, or that there's a massive age gap when the actors are all in the mid to late 20s to early 30s. In the university flashbacks it seemed to indicate that Wataru might have been a few years above Misa.

Also back to the original comment, which later I realized it was directed to Yokoyama. the female characters weren't fighting over the same guy. Misa simply settled in her first life, thinking that's what she deserved. Where as Reina wanted to sabotage Misa and take what she had.

they're wearing makeup even when they look like they don't. there's an 8 year gap between the leading actors, which is not that massive considering we're talking about mid 20s and 30s. the 2nd male lead is in his 40s, imo wasn't that noticable since his character was a manchild

Takeru Satoh is 37 now, which means when this was filmed he was 34/35... since when is that considered old? you're making it sound like he's 60 paired with a 20 year old lol.

do you wrap your friends into your sweater and caress them? or say that you worship them? coz I don't. romantic intamicy doesn't need to be defined through kissing and sex. this drama explored a different route to romance, which is fine.

this writer explores different aspects of bonding, every drama she wrote had a different expression of love, some physical (another miss oh), and some platonic (my mister). Dong Man and Eun A still had an intimate romantic relationship, the skinship was just not shown because it wasn't important to the story she wanted to tell us. if you want a show by the same writer with a similar vibe that explores a more physical relationship then I suggest another miss oh. it's a bit old now, but still gold.

she didn't need to show us about it. intimacy comes in various forms, it doesn't need to be expressed in a physical way, and for it to be non-physical it doesn't mean the characters need to be ace, abused or impotent lol.

the story focused on other aspects, on them surviving in a space that was shutting them out, they thrived and they helped each other thriving. that was shown, and it was shown in one of the most beautiful and poetic ways. we've seen them go on dates, spend time together and hug. you can use your imagination if you'd like to think their relationship was more physical 🤷🏻‍♀️

the show starts at a point in life where the ML is at one of his lowest moments and at his worst, so that's exactly what we get to see. He calms his social anxiety by yapping, because those around him don't bother to go past that. As the story progresses you get to understand his behaviour better and of the rest of the characters better.

Social anxiety sometimes manifests through yapping instead of introvertedness. DM is a very anxious person and he yaps to fill that void, his friends rarely bothered to understand or empathize with him except for Jun Hwan, so much so that at the beginning he's the only one that gets a sincere DM. The 8 club didn't hate him coz he yapped, but because he exposed their pettiness while they fed on his story telling to write their own scenarios. We also witness a social distinction as he's still struggling financially while the others are comparatively in a more stable situation.

With EunA we see that he's capable of holding a proper normal conversation, he's capable of listening even if he's in an uncomfortable situation himself.

more importantly than being likable, the characters are human, they're flawed, which makes them realistic. They're all struggling in their own way and we see how everyone tries to survive in a small cultural circle.

Not necessarily. An asexual person can have a romantic relationship with someone who isn't. Now it will depend on how they will present asexuality and the relationship dynamics.

This drama felt like home. It's both timeless and nostalgic, especially considering that despite that it came out 30 years ago, most of us in our mid-20s and early 30s can relate to the ambiguity and uncertainty that the characters experience.

completely. I would have rather had the story focus more on the main characters and FL interactions with her family - those scenes were wholesome.

at least you tried to watch them, I just skipped her scenes 😂. I sometimes wonder how great this show would have been if it didn't have the 2nd lead storyline 😅

Finally I found time to watch this. The ridiculousness is golden, and definitely the best part of the drama, but 18 episodes were too much and dragged the story. Revenge dramas have the habit of starting off really well and then go down the usual route of the coyote chasing the road runner.

Tbf it had potential, if they focused on the story rather than the glitters and sparkles, so I can see why he might have been interested in it. I watched it because of him tbh, I've liked his work since Master's Sun and Reply 1997. Looking forward for See You at Work Tomorrow as well.

Same, that aspect should have been introduced into the story earlier, at least by episode 4, while exploring the office life and the characters overall more.

Something that bothered me personally, but more because I'm in the arts, is that her best friend as an art teacher got a touch too invested into AI lol. But that was another issue, most characters remained very superficial and we didn't get any depth except for the 2 main characters (and barely for the ml).
