Are you sure, you want to ask them, who said TongHua doesn't understand her own novel & characters. They madly…
The Real Jingers of Weibo are having some meltdowns because of fan wars and such, so they're not sure how to proceed. Which is weird because you either have your beliefs or you don't, but some fandoms like to brainwash their members into supporting the "official CP". So when something big happens, they are left without knowing who they own allegiance to.
That's why XL is more appealing in that aspect. We are mostly solo fans, and we need no CP to latch on to boost his popularity. He already owns this whole thing just by being himself 😌
Now in terms of the story, XY loved XL and that's a fact. So the pretzel-bending Olympics is a bit pointless. Amusing, but pointless.
Lovers bugs aside, I am genuinly curious what explaination does YaoJing have for XY delaying setting a wedding…
You forgot to ask them about the “getting drunk during their wedding night” part of the novel 😹
Watch them come with “but true love doesn’t require traditional marriage and ceremonial fornication. They can fornicate for all eternity” because yay true love amirite 🤣
True love in Lost You Forever is clearly shown...without needing of any voodoo thing...XY and Jing developed themselves…
Why do I get the distinct impression that you are deeply prejudiced about the Lovers' Bugs? They ain't no voodoo thing and even if they were, using voodoo with such a negative connotation has implicit racist bias. You may want to be careful with that.
Also, there's no "psychological bla bla things". I was only quoting what the author herself has said. Let me rephrase that for you: "In no way a normal person would go with a piece of nothingness like Jing, who has hurt her emotionally several times, unless she has psychological deficiencies." There, fixed it.
Since people kept bringing up interviewsHere is what TH really said about LYF : She said there is no true love…
Interesting that you should mention interviews. I'm sure you know that Tong Hua also "really said" that Lost You Forever was written in a period of her life where she was dealing with some injuries and was bedridden for two months after a surgery that required more resting time than she expected. But I digress. During this interview, she stated that "the heroine's choice has always been due to psychological deficiencies". The original quote in Mandarin is: "女主的选择一直都是出于心理的缺矢". This part here "出于心理的缺矢" is of vital importance because it translates to psychological shortcomings, flaws, deficiencies.
Ok, so what's my point? My point is that over the years, TH has made several remarks about how XY's trauma during her early years has informed her decisions throughout her whole life. And as much as this story has evolved during the 11 years since it was first published, its central theme has remained the same and it ain't primarily love, but loss. You were correct when you said that Cang Xuan and Xiao Yao are the leads of LYF. This is a story about their losses. The losses that these characters have suffered during the course of their lives. The first chapter of this novel begins with multiple losses, and the epilogue closes it with the biggest loss imaginable. The title itself, both in Mandarin and English, evokes a notion of longing, or yearning for something that can't ever be brought back. Make no mistake, this ain't a fairy tale with traditional notions of a happy ending.
It's the dichotomy of life and death. Of meetings and goodbyes. Her quest in life was to make sure she would never be abandoned ever again, to never be left alone, and that is what she got. That was the sum of her character and every decision she has made during the entirety of her journey has been, in one way or the other, informed by her lifelong trauma. Once again, and in Tong Hua's own words, XY's path was chosen due to her psychological deficiencies, or flaws, if you prefer.
These characters all seemingly found what they wanted in life, but whether what they found is really what they wished for or not, it's up to each reader's interpretation.
It’s like you are deliberately hoping to make people riled up. We have discussed this extensively over the course…
Homie, what you're even blabbering about? Yeah, I know you weren't here in 2023. I would have remembered you.
But all you've been doing lately since the day you've arrived is parroting some stuff about Jing that I honestly have no interest in, but always at the expense of dragging Xiang Liu while simultaneously not wanting people to drag Xiao Yao or Jing. If I remember correctly, you were also trying to bring some Weibo drama here to this side of the world.
If you've read the novel as extensively as you claim, then I'm sure you know why so many people are so incredibly passionate about Xiang Liu. Even more so if you've read it in its original Mandarin version. It's been like this since 2013 and it ain't stopping any time soon.
So take a deep breath because there will be more dragging coming your way unless you stop inserting Xiang Liu into your ramblings and misinterpreting his character. It won't work.
Oh, and you can absolutely share your views but be ready to have them examined and answered to, point by point, because as you said, it's an open forum and we are pretty verbose over here. Welcome to MDL!
Tushan Jing? The guy who ran away, after she asked him to back her up against Cang Xuan, and left her there to…
Yo, you lost this round the moment you started calling people you've never met a jobless troll.
Also, you started your little editorial with "I really dislike this drama". Why tho? Aren't Jingers head over heels with this drama? What's there to dislike? It's a Jinger's paradise painted in forest green as the greenest of green flags. How can it be not watchable? Isn't Jing a good reason? No? Hmmm
OMG I googled coprolite while preparing lunch AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA serves me right.
Yeah, that's pretty much it. I'm using that from now on. "Stop your verbal coprolite Jingering ya bunch of stinky parmesan noodles" 😹
