You seem awkwardly pressed with her personal take. She even wrote "I'm not discouraging anyone from watching the show". If you watch it, that's nobody's concern. Wtf cares? Ask yourself!

It's insulting to audiences tbh. I understand there are some rules about not making the main ML too cruel or villainous but not at the expense of what the character's essence is supposed to be.

Now I understand why Chinese novel readers were pissed even during season 1. The butchering is nothing new, but it's probably going to be more noticeable during the second part. 💀

I don't get this either. It's explicitly written, in more than one language, yet there's always the one with the "but her lover is Jing" cope out. Man, are there two versions of the novel or something? I can't for the life of me understand their views. And I swear I have tried. Even ventured to go into their thread to see what was up and came back with more questions than answers.

I know for certain they have read these parts and I know they somehow tried to make it into something completely different from its intended meaning. There's no way a person with sufficient reading comprehension (either in Mandarin, English, Thai, or whatever language this novel has been translated to) can read these lines and still abide by the convictions they have without having to distort everything.

Yeah, we've been debating this issue of the leaked script ever since it was first discovered and it's such a recipe for disaster. Especially because Xiang Liu and Cang Xuan - two of the most objectively interesting characters - are getting the short end of the stick. I hope novel readers rally against this monstrosity if it's confirmed to be the real deal.

There were some arguments along the lines of "Oh, but there are always some changes when adapting from one medium to the other", and "Oh, but Tong Hua supervised the script". Don't care, if it ruins the essence of what it has been for 11 years, then it deserves to be shredded to pieces. They're no longer minor changes, they're nothing more than the butchering of characters. And what's worse, to seemingly "elevate" other characters. Barf, as if that was even possible.

Well, that's so lazy on their part. July 8 is just around the corner.

It's even more concerning when there's a certain pattern. I'm going to start paying more attention from now on just to see if things really are as dishonest as they seem.
