Because the license was issued before the BL ban. Now why it wasn't aired immediately after they got the license, is anyone's guess. I suppose they can apply for a new license but heavy edits will need to be made to remove every single hint of BL.

I have spoken to a hardcore Zimi and what she said corresponds to this phenomenon. The majority of them were supporters of the "official pairing" because it was...well, official. Not because they thought Jing was the best of the bunch. One of them even said she was relieved to be able to jump ship.
It's interesting because it's a very bot-like maneuver that makes these CP things look like an absolute sham. It would be nice to see people support, encourage, and love whatever they love because they actually care for the character/story/whatever, not because they're supposed to do something like an army of bots. RIP authenticity.

Yeah no, no YaoJings here, far from it :) But what Plor said is true. The moment Yang Zi said that she would choose Feng Long, the entire Zimi Nation decided to support a character that is often overlooked.
Most book readers/drama watchers don't even consider Feng Long a true ML in terms of being a suitor for XY, yet now his pairing has risen above all the other MLs. That's a very interesting phenomenon.
