Honestly, when I first started this, it was really interesting. Don't hate me, but suddenly it felt draggy. FL fits more with the strong character than her being clingy cutesy. Idk but the romance isn't likeable to me, sorry but there is no chemistry (but them promoting this drama, they look so good tgt in those clips lol). This is the 2nd drama with DW that I didn't like. I don't hate him ok but I have not finished LYF bc of romance as well. But that's just me bc when I almost dropped this one, I checked the comments and apparently a lot of ppl liked it. But it still didn't change my view of it. This one, I really tried my best to finish it by fast forwarding scenes. Regarding the story, it felt too draggy to me bc I felt like a lot is happening just to prolong it. Nonetheless, I finished it, glad for a HE tho.
Great Acting! The story is ok but well-written. It is kind of boring/slow during the 1st ep but got me hooked after. Glad I stayed to watch it. There were lots of predictable scenes but nonetheless, the message is clear. You reap what you sow, karma is real.
I agree. Filter was such a surprise to me, with a fresh, layered story and a great cast.LYF was my introduction…
It is. It is quite a new plot within the modern cdramas bc usually modern ones doesn't have touches of fantasy and is more on youth, slice of life or romance (or just those I have watched π ) so this one was interesting and also funny.
I did get to watch a few eps of LYF but I put it on hold bc I wasn't really in a mood to watch something with romance. I was more into looking forward the political part of that drama but ppl said it happened mostly on S2 but I don't like to watch S2 without watching S1 so I guess I'll put it on hold for quite a while.
I have watched LLD in My Huckleberry Friends, Love of Nirvana and The Starry Love. TSL was quite a surprise tho, I don't have any expectations to it but a good watch. Looking forward to her upcoming dramas as well :)
I finished watching it weeks ago but I still like to drop a comment. It's honestly entertaining and interesting to me because to me the plot is something new. Although, I had a few frustrations towards some of the leads decisions, it really didn't affect much because I must say I really like and enjoyed this drama. I started watching this before going on an international travel. I downloaded few episodes just so I could watch on the plane and on another country but lo and behold lol when I tried watching the first night on another country, the app wasn't working because of the location hahaha so I had to resort watching on *ehem* sites, that's how much I wanted to watch this drama then continued finishing it when I was back home. So for everyone in doubt, I suggest to take your time watching or even give it a chance.
Also, this is the first time I have watched and finished a drama with TJC as I have not finished LYF. He is so good! As for LLD, I have watched her before and I always think she is very pretty. Her beauty is princess-like or like you know a daughter from a rich family so I can't imagine people not liking her visuals in the drama lol anyway, both of them are so good and also the rest of the cast. The 2nd lead couple story is ok too, got me more interested towards the last part. That is all, it's an enjoyable drama
I occassionally watch Kdramas nowadays (more into cdramas for years) but I promised and waited for this drama to be completed before I watch (well, I like the leads but I've been looking forward to the story and the roles they play)
I finally finish it now and with tears in my eyes. I love it a lot!! I'm also really a fan of slice of life or family genre dramas. This is such a masterpiece! The acting and the plot is top notch! I really couldn't explain much because I'm still quite emotional after finishing it. I have so many thoughts and realizations. You know, as an adult myself, I'm on the age where I should have family myself. But it never crosses my mind nor becomes a priority because I always thought, will I be a good mom like my mom? Will I be a good parent just like my parents sacrificed and worked hard so we could live this life. I just felt it so much how Ae-sun and Gwang Sik sacrifice for their children. But at the same time, it kind of show me that in this life, we are all first timers. We learn as we live. So if I get the chance to live the life that is meant for me, I just also hope I could be good to the people I will be with and I hurt nobody. Also, I relate so much to Geum Myeong, being the eldest daughter and sibling, even though my parents never pressured me to be their pillar like Geum Myeong, it comes naturally. How my parents naturally tries to give me the best as well when they can, I relate to it all.
This drama gave us a lot of things to ponder about. I hope we could all live life with love. Congratulations to the the whole When Life Gives You Tangerines casts and crew. Everyone is so incredible!!
1. Not his gf. He is indeed single. If you continually watch, you will find out that her colleague and ML was…
1. Yes, she didn't know. That's why she avoided ML after that but if you watch that part again, ML wanted to tell her but she already ran away. Then, he scolded the colleague not to do that again. When they saw each other again, there's already misunderstanding and awkwardness between them and ML is not really sure FL still wants to know. But he will tell her when the colleague goes to the eastern country too
2. I guess they're doing the "off duty" so no guns when not in duty π since the first place they were at (Uglai) is not very dangerous as the ones they will go to (Happo) so there are only certain areas where rebels are actually at, the rest of the place is quite at peace
No problem! Hope you will be able to finish the drama βΊοΈ
I have confusion guys plz someone explain. 1) In ep. 3-4 Why tf FL is like love sick puppy video shooting him…
1. Not his gf. He is indeed single. If you continually watch, you will find out that her colleague and ML was only to meet for a dinner (like a blind date sort of) but colleague is competitive against FL so when she saw that FL likes the ML, she introduced him as her bf but she was lying. She used that dinner with ML and told her colleagues they will have a company dinner so she can lie about it.
2. It is a continuous war against rebels and terrorists so the war is ongoing up until the end of the drama. The setting of the drama is during the war, not after the war so you will most likely see havoc like you said. Also, the ML is not a soldier, if you pay attention, he is a volunteer who is an instructor for things regarding bomb so he is not someone who always carries a gun. He is an explosives engineer not a soldier. The soldiers there are the ones he teaches who are much likely volunteers turned soldiers too (one of the characters there used to be a mercenary but he chose to fight for his country so he ended up being soldier)
It's a good drama. I just think most of the questions you will have, you will also find the answer as you go on watching it βΊοΈ
Putting in spoiler bc not necessarily TFF related but Cdrama in general. I thought this is the most active in MDL with lots of comments so hoping someone can answer bc I don't have any other platform to ask π
Is it true though that starting 2026, cdramas are to be cut to 12 episodes? I mean even 40 eps seems not enough now, what more of 12 eps π
Finally finished this drama. Contrary to those who didn't watch this bc they happen to know the ending, it was the reason I did watch this. What I wanted to see though is how the ending came to happen. Overall, the drama is good. Acting is very good and so is the OST. It's also not usual to see cdramas filmed in a different location and incorporated with lots of English language. However, despite the effort, I felt like it's a little forced to use this as part of their communication. Storywise, there were lots of easy to guess parts what would happen next, some scenes were too dramatic or cheesy for me but it doesn't take away how I view the drama. Regarding mental health parts of the story, the focus is a bit average. While the casts are superb in their portrayals and being under the state of their mental health condition, I felt like they failed to project more focus on these parts. How depression affected the FL or how the PTSD affected the ML bc both of them are like dismissing their own for the other. There were lots of talking, walking and scenes like I don't know if needed for the story that could have been turned into parts where they could have focused more on that theme if that was the goal. That being said, those were the parts I felt bored I had to speed it up. Nevertheless, the story is easy to understand what they want to show us. I haven't read the novel so idk how more dramatic or deep it is. What I want to praise the most though is the casts' acting that are very emotional and able to tug the hearts of the viewers. Their growth from how the story started to how it ended. Emotional and good! Congratulations to this drama!
It's funny you mention Taylor Swift's Midnight Rain, someone made an edit of SY and WYF using that song!@Luna…
Thanks for this! I have watched them βΊοΈ Right hahaha because Midnight Rain really fits what WYF has said that she thinks SY deserves someone who will love passionately. I also saw that in one of the comments in these tiktok edits. Glad I'm not the only who thought that hahaha can't wait for the happier scenes to come next
I had to skip the whole of ep 6 cos I was bored ,guess Iβm not enjoying this cos Iβm not a melodrama fan but…
If you really don't want to drop it despite feeling that (but there are fun and sweet scenes tho π so to me it isn't boring) I'm putting it in as a spoiler how I do it on other dramas where I find some scenes boring. Take advantage of Youku's app 3x speed when you press the screen longer or the +10 fast forward if it's something you really don't enjoy. If it's in Netflix, I think there's only +10.
Yeah but I hope you will like the drama on the following eps since we have more eps to come βΊοΈ
I really feel WYF. She has gone through so much and I hope the viewers understand that. It's sad to see that some people are kind of shocked how someone can undergo so many hardships (family problems + a$$ault cases). It does happen in real life. It's not an exaggeration on FL's story. And what's sad is that these sad and traumatic events happens on someone else's life and to many others out there. That is why her seeing the warmth and light on Sang Yan as a "sun" is so symbolic, signifant and sweet. When WYF was opening about her feelings towards SY, all I can think about was TS line "He was sunshine, I was midnight rain". It's so sad to hear her say SY deserves someone who expresses love loudly in contrast of how she is. But little did she know that that kind of act is already a selfless love. Wanting the person to be happy even without her is already a huge expression of love.
I'm now excited to see them developing and growing together. I'm looking forward to see how the love between them will heal and release WYF in the corners of her dark world. I am loving the mature, deep and complex vibes on this drama ofc it's still great to see the funny and sweet moments. Can't wait for the fun parts lol
Also, I love ZSQ my girl's girl. I want her to find the perfect man for her too soon!
I can't open an app without seeing any video or post that still compares HL and TFF. Some ppl are so adamant about it that thinks HL is the best (well if that is their opinion then it's ok) but going around undermining this drama and it's cast just bc they love HL is too much and getting very annoying now.
I'm glad tho that most ppl can understand the difference of this two dramas. I just want to peacefully watch this drama and look at some praises and edits but those hate comments are really a sore to eyes.
I hope people will like this drama more and also see how good the casts are in portraying TFF characters. I don't want this comment to be full on negativity so I just want to say how amazed I am by the Sang siblings. Like, their existence brought light to people with hidden pains π I wish the world can be like that, give love whenever they can or I wish people can have more love in their hearts
520 sounds similar to βwo ai niβ which is I love you. :)
yes! hahaha I'm glad I knew that. I've been recommending these types of drama to some friends so they aren't really fans of cdramas so people like them won't be able to understand the reason behind it π
I just started finally!! Been waiting for this one to come out. I just realize there was one scene in one ep where YF sent back 520 to SY. If I didn't know what it meant, I wouldn't get why she was so embarrassed lol
Anyway, with just 6 eps out, I can't help but notice some people already have their conclusions towards the leads when there is more to show from their stories? Also, would like to point out a great comment I read quoting "Some people don't know how to accept love especially when they've been hurt" from user Lighter which is very important to note. It's actually quite good how the love dynamics and respect there is and will be for the both leads and I'm excited to see more so I hope people won't judge too soon. And also people commenting on why this that actor, please ππΌ you can rewatch HL if you want, no need to bring them up and compare to the current casts
I think she probably didn't realize how much SYS loved her, and the closer she got to SYS, the more SYS would…
I see but I thought she had a better understanding of the cultivation now than the time she gave that medicine π but yea maybe she also didn't realize how much the effect will be since she didn't know the ice lotus part π
