It's been a day since I finished this drama and I still can't get over BX scene tho. Also, as I said before, to me this drama's plotline was actually cohesive and nicely written including the ending. For me, everything was answered and that every character has their own arc. They weren't there just bc they were side leads/characters but all of them has their own story and meaning in this whole drama. They have their own purpose and they were not left alone just for the leads' story screentime. Regarding the ending, to me it is nice to see that they made a representation and has actually explained why they made that ending for the lead couple and in some way it felt hopeful for the other characters when BS mentioned them. Some dramas won't, leads will just plead then boom happy ending. But no, in this drama, they made a way & reason for the leads to have that ending. Some will even make it an open ending. But this drama introduce the story and ended well that you won't be left hanging (and yes, I'm ok with open ending, I'm just saying this drama diverted from that route). What also made me appreciate this drama more is I have lessen reading other's reviews of this drama but rather watch it on my own. I don't want reviews to influence me while watching so I usually read reviews when I start, once in between and ending. Overall, I really think this is one of the best xianxia out there. Congratulations to Moonlight Mystique team!
I have finally finished it!!! AMAZING AMAZING ๐ญ Finally a very worthy watch. But too many deaths, too many sacrifices but very meaningful so it was very sad but I'm glad with the ending. I don't know why but I felt specially sad with Bai Xi. I know she was FL and she did really bad things. But I felt like her death and reveal as the Divine Bow seemed to me like ever since she was born she was already destined to die not unlike the other deaths that were made by cause & effect. And to me she was really just starting her real life after 10 years of missing out on the real her. It felt so sad but it had to happen.
Anyway, it was a really great drama! It didn't felt rushed to me bc the Deity Arc they did was really just more of a back story and glad they explained everything in that one ep with Xing Yuan including how ZY & LZ was created. I'm also glad that they kind of answered everything, like how each of the characters were related to who is who. The only thing that boggled my mind was bc I considered this drama related to ALP which I think does not & is a stand alone ig? I meant I know they were TQ & YM as everyone said but I had so many questions when the Deity Arc was explained bc XY, JY & ML being the only deities so is their timeline after ALP. That confused me but I decided to let that go lol bc I'm already satisfied with the drama being a stand alone.
I will put this in spoiler bc it's still an express week but I hope new viewers who are thinking to watch this will give it a chance. It's a great watch!! Casts and characters are great. Plot is interesting & cohesive, means it was really strongly written nicely. And on top of that, the outfits, the places looked nice. What more can you ask for right hahaha so watch this drama!
There are politics but not too much evolve around royal family, which is something refreshing. Thereโs no love…
Oh nice! I like that there is no love triangle hahaha it's also ok to me if there is politics. So i guess there are a lot of sad scenes in this drama ๐ but I will try it, thank youu
I feel like this is an interesting drama. I haven't watch historical Kdramas for years since I've shifted to Cdramas. Anyone who can point out the good things in this drama? Is there a lot of political or war related things or it's more on like the growth and success of the FL? What about the romance? I've read some comments and kind of see something about the possibility of a SE? I hope it's a HE tho. Thanks a lot!
Some comments had me laughing because Hua Sen as Chong Zhao/Li Tong Guang in A Journey to Love are always annoying ๐ Why are his characters like this but he's a good actor. AND OMG the Rong Xian-Ling Long story made me cry ๐ญ What's sadder though is watching this while it's ongoing and I've been seeing that we aren't getting new episodes for some days. I don't know what to do, I'm already watching 2 other dramas to fill in the times I want to watch these ongoing dramas hahahaha it feels not enough but it means THIS DRAMA IS SO GOOD!!! So far so good. Can't wait for the storyline in the Fox clan now
Also just want to say great job to Ao Rui Peng and Bai Lu. I've been watching both of their dramas before. I also love Bai Lu's makeup and outfits!!! A goddess!
I haven't read the novel but following the story, I made my own assumptions about the relationship between Sang…
Why does it feel like Sang Qi and Qiu Min's mom had a relationship (based on the hatred of Su) and so Qiu Min is half spirit-half human. Since they exchange Xuan Ling to be Qiu Min that night Sang Qi came, Sang Qi must have thought she is his daughter since Xuan Ling is also from spirit clan. Ok, that's just my thoughts and I could be completely wrong hahahaha but I'm getting curious for the next episodes
I haven't read the novel but following the story, I made my own assumptions about the relationship between Sang Qi, Mu Xuan Ling and Gao Qiu Min ๐ค But I might be wrong so, I'll just put it below lol
Can someone please explain to me the censorship on reincarnation? I felt like I read about it sometime ago that they weren't allowing reincarnation in Cdramas now hence the "it was all just a dream" type of endings in most series now. But reading the synopsis of this drama, there seems to be a reincarnation part? I'm still at ep 12 and it suddenly crossed my mind
I'm liking this drama. I'm now at ep 8 and so far so good. The plot and pacing are good and the story keeps on getting interesting. I'm also loving to see WD again here, he's such a cutie here (I hope he doesn't become an enemy/someone who will betray the ML, yes please novel readers you can spoil me below if his character is going that direction) bc I like him as he is now as this 2ML. Also, so good to see ZBB again. It felt I haven't seen him in dramas for a while and wow our very pretty FML, she's so gorgeous lol I'm only watching 2 dramas these days both ongoing and I love that both dramas have a solid and clean plot, not too rush or not too draggy
So if the express today is ep 20. Will that 1 episode out tomorrow ep 21? as express? or they will release ep 20 as a regular episode tomorrow and no express? I'm confused with the schedules. Thanks
Ep 10 thoughts:This whole misunderstanding plot point actually feels necessary and setup for main leads to grow.…
That's an interesting way to put it. But nevertheless, if the purpose was knowing XQA has a strong backing then regardless if it's the real HQ or LA then he would still be acting reckless as you said because he really has HQ backing him and HQ really sees XQA as part of her aides so she wouldn't really let something happen to him incase she needs him for her goals (whatever she has in mind). So the whole fake HQ the 2nd princess was doing was somehow unnecessary and was just added for another comedic part of the drama which unfortunately didn't sit well with others. But now that that part has ended and seeing the trailers, I also believe LA has something to do apart from her constantly proving herself better than HQ. Like you said, I also believe that she is clever and that she could earn herself by just being herself. I hope to see more of her now as Lin An esp now that the series is getting more serious
This is amazing! I'm loving it! The characters, the story, the comedy, the pacing and the curiosity of finding out what's next. However and don't get me wrong bc I like TXW, she's great and I have watched her other dramas but I really just can't stand the scenes with her. Maybe it has to do with her character but it feels unnecessary. I'm more interested on Huai Qing and what her goals are. I started this series late but it seems they are only releasing one episode per day? Anyway, this drama is so good. Dylan's character is great (just hope a little tone down on arrogance might be better) but nonetheless not something important. I hope to see more of the cases and the higher ups agendas
I think people just donโt like that it ended on a cliffhanger hence the low rating. I did not mind that at all…
As for me, I didn't love it nor hate it. I did enjoy watching it tho. I'm just not completely satisfied not because of the cliffhanger because I already knew it will end abruptly just by watching ep 6, but because I felt I didn't get anything important from this season. You see, there were so many important things from S1 like the VIPs, front man & Jun Ho, Il Nam as the creator, organ trafficking, etc. But it was never talked upon this season. And this is a whole season. Like we had a good start, a conflict, a climax, a cliffhanger ending but there was no resolution so how come a season ended? To me it should have been called half-season or a part of the finale. Hence, season 2 part 1 should have fit the name instead so that people won't expect any resolutions because they know a part 2 finale is coming. Watching S2 doesn't really mean people have to expect a S3 tbh. The characters are great and a good addition but again, created another new series of questions. Like the boatman, 011, and other players and all of that will be added to S3 for all the revelations. I will be waiting for the S3 tho.
Most of the bad reviews aren't really even mentioning if the acting and the games are bad but rather it stemmed from the expectations that things should have been addressed in this season. If Netflix badly wanted a continuation, they should have just named this Season 2 Part 1 like they always do. People wouldn't even dislike it if there's a cliffhanger but really? except for the new characters (I love Hyun Joo) and new games, we really didn't get an answer for A WHOLE SEASON. They really just made a filler season so of course, people would somehow get a little disappointed thinking that some of the things from S1 could have been addressed now after waiting for years, right? No need to trash them why they didn't feel excited and thrilled like some of you. If you love it, great. If you don't then ok. And now we all came down to be the same as some people felt while expecting S2 being the answer. We are ALL now expecting all things addressed in S3.
What I would say tho is if people are looking for reviews, it is to not expect. It is entertaining if you keep it that way and just want to watch something thrilling especially with the new characters and games
I like SQ S1 and I'm actually happy to see such casts from this season. My friends say they liked this S2 but idk. I felt like watching this season made it feel draggy. I haven't seen anyone's comment or review about this season before watching but that's how it felt to me. Maybe I was expecting some things from S1 to be addressed in S2 only to watch a whole season of the lead playing another game with new characters + the twist of having In Ho / front man playing with them.
Ep 1 is okay, got my hopes up because Gong Yoo gave an outstanding act and I knew SGH (Lee Jung Jae's character) will play once more. But around ep 6 and start of ep 7, I knew this season was gonna be a cliff hanger without addressing things.
Like we already knew there was a front man, there is the one who created the game, there are VIPs watching. We knew In Ho is the brother of Jun Ho. What did we find out this season? That there was a traitor in the search team? New characters to add to the story to be revealed in S3? Except for that I just felt like we just watched a whole show of just Gi Hun and new characters playing. Gi Hun trying to stop the game with really nothing except for a few convincing parts he did. He waited 3 years to find the master but he waited without a plan(?). I'm sure it's not his plan to rejoin the game but anyhow he doesn't seem to even have a plan even if he meets the VIPs or the new owner of the game.
We have the organ donor trafficking story still left to be addressed. It felt like they just made S2 a filler season to prolong the series but thank goodness the S3 is coming next year than waiting for another long time. Nonetheless, it was entertaining. To me it is not good and not bad. Yes, it is not bad because it was still an okay watch, just enough for me to get entertained and wait for the upcoming S3. Other than that, I stick to my review that this S2 felt like draggy/filler season. Casts' acting are great! Would love to see them alive in S3 if given the chance. Hyeon Ju better be alive next season lol
