I don't know why everyone is hating this drama this is the best drama that I have seen. I really liked it as it…
Probably because this was based on another drama from 2019 which had the same plot but less episodes.

I actually did not know this when I started watching, but after watching the first 2 episodes I felt the plot was familiar. Then I came back to this page and realized this was an adaptation from a drama I had already watched 2 years prior. The thing is the version from 2019 was 24 episodes long, which was perfect for this kind of plot. This one has an additional 14 episodes and because of that they had to drag the plot and did that by creating situations that only made both the story and characters feel annoying. I personally think the other version was less frustrating to watch and that is probably why the rating for the other version is also higher even after 2 years. For a Chinese drama to have an average rating of 8 it is pretty good, especially after such a long time since it aired.

You are just a casual, you probably just look drama for romance and idols lol.
Are you really just assuming how I am based on a few comments??
For your information, I HATE idol dramas that have no plot. In fact, I am not a fan of anyone in particular. I watch dramas for the plot, not for the actors.

I have been watching dramas for over 10 years and although I do like romance in my dramas, I have watched all kinds of plots with different themes like thriller, criminal, etc.

If you had read all of my replies you would have known that I am not particularly a fan of the wuxia genre and did not know at the time the story this drama was based on is a reference for this genre, which someone polity pointed out to me.

But you have to come here over a year later to show your "know-all" attitude instead of sharing your thoughts on the drama, which is what the comments section is for. Sigh

i certainly hope so haha, it's what we all need
You are not missing anything by not watching that drama.
The main lead likes her first, the brother knows and is not even THAT interested in her at first but still goes for the girl...and they actually get married. Imagine getting together with your ex-sister-in-law...so romantic.

I thought about that too, but then right before that scene ended she said: "thank you for STAYING ALIVE". So I dont think the writers will actually go for a tragic ending. They probably added that to keep us guessing and make us watch until the end to know what will happen AFTER that scene.

Thank you SO MUCH for this review.

I have been thinking of dropping it after watching only the first few episodes, especially after I read all the negative comments. Now I know in which episodes stuff happens like him realizing his feelings and confessing, and she confessing so I will just go watch those episodes and get it over with.

Imagine torturing myself by watching 44 episodes of this to not even get a proper ending. I would be frustrated by how much time I wasted. So thank you for saving my time. ^ ^

On A Love So Beautiful Feb 20, 2021
I personally liked the Chinese version more but at the same time I cannot put down this remake. Both are good but different. The original one was more detailed, the characters, particularly the male lead, were more fleshed out and the emotions were deeper. It was heart wrenching at times and I think I even cried at some point.

This one, on the other hand, is a more light cute version. The male lead is not as well developed as the one in the Chinese version (I mean the character, nothing to do with the actors) BUT the backstory at the end of the episodes and the behind the scenes in the last episode really make up for what is missing.

So basically, I recommend both. They are both good in their own way. If you want something more deep that will make your heart hurt, then you might enjoy the original one, but if you prefer a light cute story without too much drama, then this version will probably be your cup of tea.

Ikr? Like, when he finally gets a main lead role, his BROTHER gets the girl for pretty much the entire drama. The writers really did him dirty in When I Was the Most Beautiful. At least here we can tell that wont happen cause the female lead is already kinda into him. lol

Now I love this show so far but does anyone feel it might a terrible casting for KSH as the mom and I don't mean…
Ikr? I want to believe that the logic in this is that: 1 - the maid did not actually look directly at her face and it was dark. 2 - Same thing with the brother, it was dark, plus he was also young when this happened so his memory of what his mother looked like might have weakened. Even nowadays this happens to young kids who lose their parents and they have pictures to remember what they looked like, but in the past there was no such thing. And finally, OD only met the Queen once and saw her a few times throughout that day + being a traumatic memory for him, he might have buried some things deep down.

That said, I think I would have still recognized her...but I am trying to give this drama a chance and find a logical reason as to why everyone other than the kind is blind. lol

I think she played 3 generation
3? Isn’t it 2 instead?
She played the Queen, the mother...and now she is playing the daughter 8 years later.

So far it seems to be my kind of drama. I like strong female leads. Hopefully it wont disappoint.

Will this be the drama where Ji Soo is the main lead and finally gets the girl all while the plot does not actually suck?

so there's a Revenge?
Your comment sounds sarcastic but it might not have been your intention so I will not take it personally.

Yes, there is revenge. The plot is centered around it. But I have watched other lakorns also centered around revenge that were much better which is why I said this one is average. Its not bad, but it just isnt as good as some other thai dramas I have watched.

It has been this way since 2018-2019. There is little hope for this one since subbers dont usually pick unfinished…
Yeah, same here. I have a few dramas in my on hold list that I have not started and that have been sitting there for years because they are not fully subbed or have not been subbed at all. T T

Yeah, I tried, I gave it a chance, but I still did not like it. Not a fan of the interview format and definitely not a fan of how this format made it so there were several main characters. I dont like it when a drama has a lot of main characters. If feels like a lot of stories are being told but none of them stands out to me.

That said, dont reply to this comment saying I did not understand the value of this drama or something like that. I never said this was a bad drama. It just wasnt my cup of tea.

Well, they get married.
Well, if you do like the idea of them being together, then yes, it will happen. Not the way you and me wanted but oh well, I am sure he will eventually fall in love with her. She really deserves to be beside the FL, she is the only TRUE sister of all the 3 she had so far. The other 2 turned out to be snakes.

What I am worried about is that these 2 are so cherished by us viewers that the writers might decide to kill one or both of them at the end. In most c-dramas I have watched the loyal servants/bffs of the main leads always die, mostly saving the main leads or sacrificing themselves for a cause like defending the borders or something.

Hopefully it wont happen here. I want all 4 of them (plus any extras, aka their children) to have a happy ending.

If you're trying to make a point about not judging people by their looks, maybe don't treat a character's weight…
As an overweight person who is currently losing weight, I was not really bothered by it. I think they were trying to make her as miserable as possible so the glow up would feel even more needed for her to the point she would sacrifice anything for it.

That said, even at my heaviest, I have never broken a chair I sat on or any piece of furniture really. LOL

So I kind of agree with what you said, that scene did make me cringe.

The Rainbow Subbing team has started this once again. They are restarting the dramas which were in pause mode.…
Its been like 6 months since I finished it but from what I remember it was an ok drama but nothing special. I did not feel much chemistry between the main leads and I felt the male lead was too nice to his mother and the girl she brought home to shove in her married son’s face. Not the worst, I have seen worse male lead’s when it comes to dealing with their mother/random women, but with the plot being average, his lack of action at times made it even harder to watch.

So overall, in my opinion, it is an average drama. If you have other dramas to watch, this one is probably not worth your time. But if you dont, then give it a try.

Liking this kind of drama and giving it a high rating does in no way reflect on how people handle their relationship…
I understand what you mean. But the problem was I watched this right when it was subbed. At the time there werent enough people talking about this drama and I was tricked into believing this would be a sweet romance. When the male lead cheated on her, not once, but TWICE, I felt hurt with the female lead, almost as if I was the one being cheated on.

And because of that I was never able to forgive the male lead or even accept his redemption. In her place I would have dumped him and hoped it would serve as a lesson for him to not cheat again.

I think the writers were going for a character development kind of thing for the male lead, but I would rather have the female lead be the one to become stronger, dump his a** and find someone worthy of her.

I have a really low tolerance for cheating. I find it to be the worst kind of betrayal, maybe only second to someone actually stabbing you in the back, as in literally stabbing.
