Title The First Jasmine Spoiler

It seems lately a lot of dramas end like this, they wrap up what needs to be wrapped up but do not attempt to make the ending a bit more enjoyable for the viewers.

I mean, was it that hard to show a few more scenes of their married life? Maybe have the FL get pregnant and have a baby. They even spent an entire episode with the sister-in-law doing everything for the FL to get pregnant and even after years of marriage when we know they have slept together several times, she has yet to get pregnant. Unless either of them has some health issue preventing it, it is not normal that she did not get pregant after so long. Throwing in a cute baby at the end or at least a pregnancy diagnosis would not have hurt the plot.

Anyway, I am complaining about this since there really isn't much I can complain about. This drama was overall a very enjoyable watch for me.

Great drama, one of the most complex and interesting characters Bai Lu has played. It had some slow moments as expected from a Chinese historical drama that is 40 episodes long but overall it was very entertaining to watch. If I had to complain about something, is that although the drama was wrapped up nicely...I felt something was missing. (read the spoiler below to find out what)

I predicted pretty early on what had happened and even shared my theories with my mother who is also watching this drama but with subs in her native language. But still, now that things are slowly being revealed, it still hurts to watch and I cannot even imagine going through what Ye Li has gone through.

The last 2 episodes were hard to watch, not because they were bad, they were amazing, but because there was so much heartbreak and trauma.

Decent for a short drama but way too predictable and convoluted. Might seem like a contradiction but exactly because they tried to make it so confusing it became too obvious early on who they were, at least for me.

Title Visage and Soul Spoiler
Wait a minute why did ML got plastic surgery and need his friend's face?? Why did FL got her sister's face?? What…
He got his face serioursly burned and needed plastic surgery anyway so he decided to take his friends identity so he could get close to the FL and investigate what happened 3 years ago. She got plastic surgery because her father decided so since it was more convenient for him to have his legitimate daughter alive instead of the one he had outside of marriage.

Yep same here, i don't know who gave the idea of 24 eps. Also ML character shows inferior in comparison to 2nd…
Definitely. This feels like a plot for a 40 episode drama, too much to explore. Some conflicts were solved way too fast for how complex they were suposed to be and like you said, I found the 2nd MLs more interesting than the ML.

The ML was good looking and loyal to the FL and that was pretty much it. His character needed more depth, more personality, something that would not make him pale in comparison to the other 2.

Strong start but somewhere along the way the pace felt off, the plot felt rushed and slow at the same time, I cannot really explain but by the end I was like, ok, it's over, next.

I am not saying it is bad, at all, at first I was really into the plot. It just started to get less and less interesting as the plot progressed. Reading previous comments it seems like I was not the only one who felt this way.

wtf this ending? they show us that the ML get close to may to take revenge so in the end it wasn't revenge at…
Idk what the writers were thinking.

Up until the point they got married I could understand why he was stringing along the SFL, but even after the marriage went from fake to real he left the room he was sleeping with his WIFE to go to the SFL's room and make out with her??

At that point it not only felt unecessary from the plot's point of view but also made the ML look like a cheater instead of the loyal husband the FL deserved.

For lakorn standards this was good but I was not satisfied with the way they wrapped up everything. The "villains" got the easy way out, the ML got it easy too and the FL, the only innocent one in this mess, was the one who ended up suffering the most.

The ML was not a bad person but was too focused on revenge to consider collateral damage and did some other things that were not even needed for the plots sake that made him even less deserving of the FL.

And about the SFL, some people are saying they feel sorry for her...I mean, she is not a "bad" person but like the ML said she is selfish. The FL would never have done what she did if she was in her place, she would have trusted the ML, that is the difference between them - one is selfish and the other is too selfless for her own good.

Jdrama has a very different style from cdrama and kdrama. I have only liked a few of the ones I have watched and…
I have Dazzling on my plan to watch list but have not found time to start it yet but I will share some of the dramas I liked (gave a quick look to my completed list):
- Koe Koi
- In House Marriage Honey
- Hey Sensei, Don't You Know?

And here are some movies I liked too:
- Closest Love to Heaven
- The 8-Year Engagement
- One Liter of Tears (get some tissues ready, based on a real story)

I realised most of the romance dramas I liked are kind of "old". A lot of them are from over 10 years ago. For more recent ones I have mostly liked horror and thrillers. If you do not mind older dramas or other genres I can share some of them too.

Title Night Has Come Spoiler
After watching this series I said to myself that I could've just watch the first ep and jumped straight to the…
Yeah, I think that is why so many people are disappointed with the ending and I totally understand them. If this was a regular drama I might have been too, but it is a horror drama and horror is known for "bad" endings.

I was not bored through the whole thing and that for me is already a win in this genre.

This is my first Japanese drama. but :) Very disappointed idk why, maybe I like kdrama and cdrama more than JP.…
Jdrama has a very different style from cdrama and kdrama. I have only liked a few of the ones I have watched and I can safely say this one is below average so not the best pick for your first jdrama. If there is a specific genre or kind of plot you like let me know and I might be able to recommend you a better one.

There is a reason why the rating is on the lower side. There is nothing redeemable about this one. The plot is nothing new or original but there are clichés that are still fun to watch, not this one, this was just boring. The acting, the character writing, everything was below average.

Not the worst I have watched but with so many better dramas out there this one is just not worth watching.

Title A Splendid Match Spoiler
I have to rant about how the last scene is them just walking out of the house… that’s it? nothing to tie in…
Idk if you have watched the extra episode but at least we get to see more of the ML's feelings and thoughts and what he says at the end kind of explains why the writers made the decision to end the drama like that.

With that said, I also wish we had gotten a peek of their future life, maybe a baby.

Title Eight Hundred Spoiler
Chen Hui, is there no one to comfort you? All you do is comfort others when you are the one who is at the lowest…
If we had to sum up Chen Hong Bin's character, we would say he is a "good" Police Officer...but that is not even fully true since he arrested people without clear evidence, mostly based on a gut feeling.

It was well-written and realistic and had some great acting, specially by Xu Kai, but that ending was a hard pill to swallow.

Things are not always black or white and when something falls into a gray zone, even when you are doing what is right the end result might not be the best one. Chen Hong Bin ultimately had to choose between being a good father/husband and being a good Police Officer. Tbh I think he was neither.

Oh well, I am not even sure what to watch after this one.

Not bad. A bit frustrating to watch due to the plot but it was better than the average lakorn. If anything I found the forced marriage completely unnecessary. It just brought unneeded drama and I would rather have watched more of the main leads as a couple instead.

I do feel like they could have fleshed out their relationship a bit better. They went from strangers to crazy in love (mostly the male lead) a bit too fast.

Sadly, this was not my cup of tea.

Too many main characters and subplots, the leads felt bland, seeing them on screen was rarely exciting. There was little chemistry between them, they looked more like friends, which in part might be because Allen Ren is married and they tried to keep the romantic scenes tamed but I have seen Allen Ren in other dramas and he had more chemistry with other actresses. His character here was also one of the least interesting ones I have watched him play.

I really do not know how to explain but although I went in thinking this would be my cup of tea and although I liked some episodes and subplots, I mostly found myself bored and wanting to skip scenes. I usually lose interest in dramas when they split screentime between a lot of characters or add a lot of subplots, which they did here. The main leads spent entire episodes without even interacting with each other and in some episodes they were not even the main leads, other characters were the focus.

To sum it up, I am not saying this is a bad drama, just that it was not for me.
