I Hear Your Voice was one of my favourite dramas at the time it aired, and it has been so long since I watched it that I think it is worth to give this remake a try since I wont be constantly comparing them.
So basically he is a male prostitute that lives off of these 6 women?? Just guessing. But I am not surprised since this was made in Japan. I used to watch anime, it was what introduced me to asian dramas, but stopped when the ecchi genre completely took over and in an entire year of releases I could barely find 1 decent anime to watch. The dramas are likewise very sexual oriented and where the infidelity tag is found the most among all asian dramas, thai dramas probably being second. I won’t deny what got my attention was the cover...but then I read what the story was about and was like, no, not worth it. A lot of dramas also have shirtless handsome male leads that are NOT living off of women.
Love is not only about who makes your heart beat. That is passion not love. Chalam is all that Tantawan wish Peng…
Yeah, episode 15 and most of ep 16 made me believe that she would end up with Peng and then she picked Chalam, which I would be ok with if I was convinced she did not love Peng anymore. And come on, Peng shielded her by taking the blame for the accident when he was not even there, he made sure she would not find out the truth because he knew how traumatic it would be for her and went into that fire knowing he might not come out alive, he even sacrificed a lot of his habits to be there for her like taking a leave from work, helping around the house, wanting to take her out on dates, buy the ring, and so on. And the writers gave him that kind of ending? He had the typical second male lead ending, except he was supposed to be the main lead. I know Chalam also did some sacrifices for her but dragging everything until the end made her decision seem very fickle. I think it is due to the fact the writers/director originally wanted her to end with Peng but when they realised most viewers wanted her to end with Chalam they called the actor playing him to record some extra scenes and change the ending expecting higher ratings. Fun fact is in Thailand this drama was one of the lowest rated from the ones airing at the same time. There seemed to be a bigger concern about what the viewers wanted than the actual plot. The female lead being so one dimensional is the perfect example of that lack of care.
I agree in part with what you said but I think the way it ended felt forced. The writers took way too long to…
Yeah, it did feel like that. Kind of an open ending. It felt like maybe things will work out, maybe she will go back to Peng, or she might fall for someone else later. I am not a fan of open endings so thats probably why I did not feel satisfied with the way it ended. Honestly, I myself would pick Chalam because come on, look at that smile, it’s impossible to resist it. Tawan honestly should have ended single and take that time to figure out not only her feelings but to find out what she wanted in life. Maybe find an interest, study about it and get a job, you know, like normal people? XD
i was so prepared for her to end up with peng, and i think that would have been fine too, but i like how they…
I agree in part with what you said but I think the way it ended felt forced. The writers took way too long to resolve the love triangle so her feelings for Chalam seems like yes, she is in love with him but she does not love him. I know, that sounded confusing. Chalam made her heart beat fast again with his sweet smile and care, but that is temporary. She projected onto him what she wish Peng was. She fell for him during one of her most fragile moments. Her and Peng just had a huge argument, she caused an accident and then there is this handsome younger guy with the sweetest smile ever that comforts her in a way Peng havent done in a lot of years because he is so focused on his job. I liked Chalam but I dont think he was the right person for her on long term, I cannot imagine them starting a family together...but I could imagine that with Peng, especially after he started to be more attentive towards her. Originally Chalam did not even like her, he liked someone else. He was literally forced into liking her by always being dragged to wherever she was. Peng liked her even before the whole magic thing, and so did she. I would be ok with her ending with Chalam if the writers had done it differently. The way they dragged it made the ending seem forced. In fact, even if she had ended with Peng, it would still feel forced. I did not like how anti-climatic and rushed the ending felt just for the sake of pleasing the viewers. And I could not ignore the fact they made a main character so one dimensional. She had no job or dreams...her job was to care for Peng , in her own words, and I guess now it is to care for Chalam. It is like there was little thought given to her character. So at the end of the day I felt disappointed and can understand why this got such low ratings in Thailand compared to the other dramas airing at the same time.
Honestly by now i just think that the author forcing this whole love triangle thing. Because let’s be real chalam…
Completely agree with you. I was torn between both of them but I could tell that the person she needed was Peng and Chalam was more like everything she wished Peng was - sweet, caring, always there for her. I was not satisfied with the way it ended.
I personally disagree with the ending. I always felt torn between both of them but the ending felt forced, like…
Love is not only about who makes your heart beat. That is passion not love. Chalam is all that Tantawan wish Peng was. For 15 years, mostly since he started studying to be a doctor, Peng does not give her as much attention as she wishes. On several occasions he did not appear or cancelled their dates, all he could think about was work and he was very rational instead of emotional, that being the reason he would choose to treat a patient that is in life risk instead of the woman he loves. Chalam is younger, has the sweetest smile and words ever and gave her the attention that she was seeking..so it was not a surprise she fell for him. But the moment Peng changed, started to pay more attention to her and doing the things she always wanted, it would make sense for her to realise that the one she actually loves is Peng and what she feels for Chalam was the projection of her fantasies, not actual love. As we see in the ending, she said the first person she thought about and will ALWAYS think about first was Peng. I really like Chalam but I think to please everyone they made her choose him but gave hints that she might go back to Peng in the future. The writers were more confused about who to choose than her lol
As sad as it is, and I know this might anger some people, I think her feelings for Chalam are temporary and if the drama kept going they would date for some time, maybe even a few years and then one day she would bump into Peng and her heart would start beating fast and she would realise she has always loved him. That is the feeling I got from the ending the writers gave us. If they wanted her to end with Chalam they should have done a better job convincing us that she does not love Peng anymore. There should have been some development in her relationship with Chalam prior to the ending so it would not feel so rushed and anti-climatic. I am not angry at the fact she ended with him, like I said I was torn between them, I am angry at the way they portrayed her relationship with them. It reminded me of Nang Sao Mai Jam Kad Nam Sakul, where Davika was also the female lead, and how frustrating it was to watch her be all confused about her feelings. Actually, these 2 characters are very similar. And it bothers me to spend so many hours watching someone have no idea who she/he likes and hurting other people’s feelings because of that. Just a "little" rant...
I personally disagree with the ending. I always felt torn between both of them but the ending felt forced, like the writers were just trying to please the viewers and make her end with the one that most people wanted her to choose. I will explain in the spoiler below why I do not agree with the way it ended.
After ep9, is this show dropped? Sad. It's kind of interesting. Anypne know where we can watch Thai dramas in…
The subber posted on facebook yesterday saying she has been busy because of her studies but plans to resume everything after the end of this month. I have only watched 4 episodes around the time she picked this one up, so I will just wait until it is all subbed in case she has to put it on hold again later on.
I have no idea if I will watch this one, but for those who want to watch it - it is fully subbed on YouTube. Search…
Edit: there are a few parts here and there that are not subbed but they are not many and don’t even make an entire episode, most of it is subbed.
About the drama, it is exactly what it says it is. She is a mistress, but not one of those annoying greedy ones you usually see in most lakorns. She was forced into being one and is never truly happy while she has to play that role. Definitely not a romantic drama, although the romance is there, it is an "impossible" romance for pretty much the entire drama, so this is not an easy watch, the female lead has a very sad life so dont watch this thinking it is your typical lakorn. The main focus of this drama is showing the life of a mistress and what we can learn from it. It is not the kind of drama I would be able to watch a second time, I just feel too bad for the female lead...mostly because I know there are a lot of women going through a similar situation. :(
I have no idea if I will watch this one, but for those who want to watch it - it is fully subbed on YouTube. Search for the channel GMM25Thailand and the name of the playlist is THE MISTRESS.
This was mostly the story of Neung and Song just happened to be her twin sister. It is one thing to be kind and…
Btw, is it just me or did they make Song so secondary that if I remember correctly there was not even a kiss between her and Ard, while he kissed and had skinship several times with Neung?? I guess that is why she was named Song...she always came second. Lol
This was mostly the story of Neung and Song just happened to be her twin sister. It is one thing to be kind and innocent, it is another to make a character so boring that no wonder they decided to make Neung take most of the screen time. Nothing much happened to Song, be it character development or romance. And Sarn, I knew what was coming because he was naive and wanted to rebel against everyone, mostly his father, but never imagined he would be so dumb to fall for it so fast and easy. The first episodes were interesting but I had it on hold since ep 5 for quite some time and had to skip a lot to be able to finish it. Aside from the excellent job the main actress did playing 2 completely different characters, there is not much that I liked about this one.
Director Han is an interesting character. She did all those things for MC group which leads countless people,…
Yeah, I guess that was why so many people were angry at the ending. They expected justice to be served and it wasn’t really. But in real life that happens all the time so I understand what the writers were trying to do there.
I don't usually watch dramas that has too many episodes so I was hesitant to start this. Then I saw some clips…
I actually finished it but thought that after episode 20 or so it went down a cliff. In my head I want to believe the male lead is alive and that the female lead did not imagine it, but I was still angry at all the unnecessary deaths. They legit killed almost every character that built the plot for no reason at all. I think chinese writers of historical dramas must have a thing for tragic endings. Sigh - . -
But they are machine generated subs. I kinda knew just by the way they translated the title of the drama. I personally…
They probably just updated the subs cause before it said (machine translation) next to English on the languages menu and the title of the drama was Assassinator Girlfriend lol... and now it is grammatically correct and matches the title here on MDL - My Assassin Girlfriend. Thank you for letting me know. :)

What I think is weird is that she only got 4 years. She ordered someone’s murder, twice. Covered another murder. Did a bunch of corrupt things and got 4 years. My guess is that they could not prove most of her crimes for lack of evidence...or she used her connections to reduce her time or clear her charges and that was why she got out so early. I guess we will never know and the writers probably intended it that way.

It’s probably because the story is well written and the acting is good but it is definitely not for everyone. The rating is probably from people who like to watch tragedies and melodramas. It is not that I don’t like tragedies or melodramas, but this one was just too much for me. The female lead was too pitiful and the story too painful to watch.
