Wow, glad SOMETHING from Xiao Zhan finally airing. I hope it's good but will wait till it's finished and see the reviews, as I don't want to risk following a story that could've been ruined by powerplay.
Acting was perfect. The idea was great. Beautiful even. Aside from the over dramatic bits, the story was mostly enjoyable. The ending though, I don't understand why really good kdramas ruin the last episode with the authors either forcing a political agenda or overestimating their philosophical sense (in this case, the latter).
Why is this tagged thriller? 8 episodes in and almost no progress to the overall story. How can they make even an apocalyptic thriller into a melodramatic slice of life? I find myself only interested in HTS's parts because things tend to somehow speed up when he appears. But there's only so far one character can carry you.

I did. Thanks. Still not convinced tho. What you said is true for a normal person and could even be considered good thinking. But for a policewoman? a specially trained one, it doesn't. It's clumsy and it just feels such a waste of opportunity to me that the female lead is special force, trained, smart and brave for once and still ends up being saved by her police boyfriend because of a series of choices that obviously would go wrong.
Did people really complain about the leads keeping this secret? I completely understand their choice. They signed a confidentiality agreement and they're literally police force with this being a matter of national security. Not to mention the situation wasn't even out of control yet. What's the point of getting people to panic?

But if this has been brought up before and even affected the rating and still everyone loves this show, then it means the show did really improve and I should keep watching.

Survival instinct for an average person, yes. But with her trainings and profile, putting regular citizens in danger should have never been an option. Specially since it wasn't just the guy who was in danger. It was at best the whole apartment's residents.
What the guy did was much wiser. He did warn her not to make the obvious mistake of opening the door and considering she's immune and heard him call the police, she should've at least stalled so long as the glass was still protecting her.
Late to the discussion because I was waiting to binge watch this. But episode 3 made no sense to me.

Episode 6 gave me Doctor Who vibes I loved it. This was pretty good what's happened to people's taste? Interesting story with some action. A rare lack of sexism in this drama and OSTs were beautiful too. The comments saying it was confusing; where was it tho? Wasn't even much complicated; do people hate thinking that much?
The only faults were PSH's very limited range of expressions and the obvious fact that the writers know absolutely nothing of war (It certainly doesn't start overnight. Even if a country has zero defense system, it's not like people in the capital are out shopping when suddenly a missile hits them. First there's a hint and everyone can see the sparks and all the people get the feeling of imminent threat which can drag on for months or even years before a war actually breaks out.).

I realize a lot of people liked it, yet the only thing great for me was LDW's acting, which surprised me. Maybe I expected too much, since I was a huge OCN fan.
