The best instance of a healthy relationship in the main couple. The acting was really good. Idk how old the leads are but there felt to be an age gap which was a bit distracting. Other than that, lovely chemistry. The second couple was my favorite at the start because of how pure they were, but later I kept skipping most of their parts, since Wenbo's attitude towards Xia started to feel insulting. The third (?) couple gave off a nostalgic, classic feeling. Loved them.
The sisters' plot was unnecessary and a bit cliche tbh.
The action scenes were the best for me. Highly exciting and decently executed. Seriously I was expecting some cheap and cheesy action since it's not the main theme, but it was pretty good. The small practice match between two teams and The last episode are my favorite.
It's so easy to mess up time travel nowadays but this was surprisingly well done. Although more explanation on a couple of points and a bit of more fluent acting would make it perfect, the story and production had a unique flavor and the female lead's role and performance were refreshing. Honestly, I didn't expect such quality from a modern Cdrama in this genre. A pleasant surprise.

Good thing for me I guess. Recently every script he chooses I end up disliking.
I'm torn between keep watching and dropping this. It's interesting, clearly underrated and I really wanna know where some of the splash team members will end up. But on the other hand, I'm taking too long for this which usually means it's not thrilling or thought provoking enough for me to enjoy. Maybe come back to it later when I need a slower ride.

I understand your point. But if this was all, it'd be ok. My problem is Sevenseas hired the fan translator for the official TGCF translation but didn't do so for MDZS. Probably to lessen the expenses of working with two translators. What's worse is I've heard they did use some of the innovative words the MDZS fan translator had made. Judging by the (granted, very immature) post the fan translation editor posted on Facebook, she was heartbroken. Even though she'd expressed support for the official release, everyone knows that she'd put in lots of time and effort into MDZS. And judging by the fan translation, she's very talented. As a translator myself, I find it morally wrong. And what's morally wrong cannot be excused just by being legal. Also, thinking about the great things it could start for a very talented person, it just leaves a bitter taste.
Nothing as great or extraordinary as the hype suggests. But entertaining. Which is what you normally expect from a drama. Just fast forward the first 2 episodes. The last episode was impressive though.

What you said can describe most dramas. Nothing to do with psychological thriller which is one of the most complicated plots to write which is why I like it. This is not it.
Take Liar Game for example, an actual psychological thriller. Clever mind games, complex character actions and usually a bit of dark tone. None of it here. In this, almost everyone keeps making illogical decisions and dumb mistakes, characters are simple and there's as much color in it as a romantic comedy. Can you really say this drama is in the same category as Bad Guys and Voice? There's a reason this is not tagged psychological Just as there's no in-depth psychology in it.
