Well, i don’t think it’s a problem ✨Looks-wise, they don’t seem mismatched — in fact, Lee Chae Min (in my opinion) even looks older than Yoona ✨. Lee Chae Min also isn’t underage, and their chemistry is good too.
And based on history, Yeonsangun (the real king) was also only 18 years old when he ascended the throne

I didn’t mean he literally flies like superman or turns green like Hulk and so on. I was just using those names as a metaphor for his superhero vibes ✨

Literally, Cheng Lei’s character here feels like a mash-up of Vampire + Werewolf + Venom + Superman + Hulk 😂. At some points it even reminded me of Detective Conan LOL
and damn ! Cheng Lei is shirtless in almost every episode 🙈
You really have to throw logic and realism aside while watching this, but it’s still entertaining in its own way ✨
Too bad it’s not his own voice in the dubbing though 😟while other actors dubbed themselves

i watched and liked the three previous dramas he directed (especially The Prisoner of Beauty❤️) Wow, i should be able to enjoy this drama too. Knowing who the director is really raises my expectations 😆

I just hope the storyline and scene editing are better than LOTFG. This drama is also one i’m looking forward to, so hopefully it won’t lower my expectations like LOTFG did 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🫢🫢

I totally agree with you. I’m also confused—why did the emperor send He Yan to a place where there wasn’t even a war yet? Did Chu Zhao instigate something to the emperor to come up with that idea?
It’s really strange, there was no explanation at all about what strategy Chu Zhao was supposedly carrying out or what his goal was. (Well, I’m not entirely sure either since i skipped through a lot of scenes in the last three episodes LOL)

Honestly, nearing the end—around the last three episodes—I felt it was really flat. It totally crushed my expectations for this drama , even though it was one i had been eagerly waiting for 🥲

LOL, oh well… in the end i only kept watching just for ZY and CL’s chemistry, that’s the only reason i stayed.

Finally it’s going to air! I’m curious about Cheng Lei’s character here because it seems like he has superpowers and his styling is kind of werewolf-like 😅

I haven’t finished reading the novel yet, but i read spoilers from some fans on X who have already read it, saying that XJ honestly explained the issue about HY and HRF, and then admitted that HY is his fiancée.
XJ informed the emperor about this so that from then on, neither HY nor XJ would face any trouble regarding HY hiding her identity in order to join the military

Actually, there are some examples of drama adaptations from novels about "transmigrate" where the scene editing is neat and well done, with clear character introductions in the early episodes so we can really feel the characters’ backstories—like the drama Blossom.

Yeah, basically it all comes down to the poor scene editing 🥲
Like in the scene where HY becomes blind—it’s only explained by a glass falling to the floor, and we have no idea why that glass scene suddenly happened, because there was nothing before it showing she was poisoned (as far as i remember, they only mentioned it through narration).
If i hadn’t read the novel’s synopsis, i probably wouldn’t have known she went blind because she was poisoned.😆

I was watched AvenueX’s review of this drama, and i mostly agree with her—especially about the earlier episodes where there were so many plot holes and the character introductions felt way too rushed. It was like they cut a lot of scenes just to fit everything into a 30-ish minute episode.
But! Since i’m watching purely for ZY & CL chemistry and their fight scenes, so i decided to just let it go and turn a blind eye to the illogical parts of the story 😃

Honestly, this is just my personal opinion, after that episode with the scene “我喜歡月亮，月亮不知道” (I really like that scene, hehe), I slowly started to get bored—up until episode 21 yesterday. There’s a lot i could rant about regarding the scenes.

For example, when HY cried over her “Shi Fu” who died—it’s clear that she was very sad, but as a viewer, i couldn’t feel any sympathy for her tears. Why? Because we never really got to understand what kind of close relationship they had.
From what we saw in the early episodes, the only scene where they met was when HY woke up from her “coma” and Shi Fu was by her side. And… that’s it. There was no detailed explanation of how big of an influence Shi Fu had on her. So, i just couldn’t feel the sympathy for Shi Fu’s death or HY’s grief over it.

Another example, the scene where HY and Huyate fight on horseback.
You can clearly see the water is shallow and full of rocks—they weren’t even submerged. When HY stabs the guy with her spear all the way through until it hits the rocky riverbed, you can see that the water is shallow. But then, when HY gets thrown off and falls into the water, suddenly it’s deep—like she fell into a lake 😒
Did she get thrown that far ?? But logically, no, the throw shouldn’t have been that far because from the camera shots of the soldiers fighting, that water was clearly not deep-lake water.
And of course, our hero XJ swoops in at the perfect moment to save HY , like XJ is a psychic who just knows HY is drowning. (yeah plot armour😅)

Those are just a few of the scenes i wanted to rant about. But still, i keep watching for ZY and CL’s chemistry. As for the rest… i just turn a blind eye 😆✌🏻❤️
