does anyone know if the subtitles are better (in English) on Viki or Netflix?
Viki's are better. They also often translate song lyrics, sometimes caption characters and really sincerely make an effort to capture the flavor of conversations. But they do not come out all at once in every language.
Like all viki fans watching LITC on netflix, I will rewatch it on viki.
Ep7. Not quite 2/3 of the way through. So many small faults but still I find it relaxing. I never feel lost, with such a small cast; the settings are clearly structured so we are always oriented in time and space.
The main plot still coheres, barely. We still wait to see what the full picture will be, in the end, but the FL is still settled in a 'hidden' village, which seems as close to Seoul as the other side of a door. The villains are wildly overwritten, vicious and cruel.
The villagers are underwritten, without any characters who stand out, so far, beyond the brothers and Lee Don's sister the principal, who is a bit of a caricature. Will there be a clever ending well-planned for by the longgone Chairman or Lee Don or by YR herself?
An odd black comedy, without enough acting fizz but visually coherent. Decent ratings on Korean TV, a good reception on viki (which means Latin America likes it) and mixed reactions here on mdl. An odd duck.
Love the show, but Tae Phoon's mom is really annoying me! She is an adult, she should be help him! But she is…
I agree. It looks like she hid their financial situation from him. Parents do get in the habit of that. But after Dad passed, when she needed to lean on him, she didnt....she didnt realize he was actually so strong.
He isn't soppy in any character. He is very versatile n excellent.
I love Junho helplessly, but King the Land really freaked me out. He will always own a piece of my heart for Just Between lovers with Won Ji Ah. And The Red Sleeve fit him exactly, but imagine it without Lee Se Young.
ep4. This show (and the ML himself) just hit its stride, for me.
The energy and accent of Busan is exciting and romantic history without sentimentality. Love the currency trader!
LJH is at his best fighting for others, as a romantic lead he is just soppy. But in this show he is playing an interesting guy, one who can react quickly if needed but takes his time to understand new situations.
When the show started off with hybridizing roses (shades of song joong ki's sad florist!) I bet we all had a sinking sensation. And his dad dies...Even as Asphalt Man lying down in the road the ML was too passive. But in this ep the pace has really picked up!
Speaking of Harry Potter twists, the soul-seizing spell actually helped with the heavenly grief backlash? Maybe she will be cured by endurance, all unsuspecting the villains will be foiled?
Many commenters may be wondering why till latest ep. even in preview after she confronted her own heart, MY still…
...a lot of growth for MY....but will the director/script/skills of the actress actually be able to satisfactorily dem onstrate it or will we be staring at her lovely eyes like astronomers looking for vague indications of distant planets?...women do not get screentime, support from general teams, enough range in roles during the initial phase of their careers to grow as actresses so we as viewers must be kind, but I hope every time to see better work...
Adding my voice to a request to use spoiler veils. Please respect new viewers -- give them a chance to watch free of preconceptions and rumors, as fun as those may be.
The show just started airing on Viki, and viewers there only have 3 eps dropt so far, etc.
I think she is only known as Ming Xian officially so therefore the heart stone didn't recognise her as Ming Yi.
oh, I just remembered, Ming Yi is the name of the dead girl from Freezing Hot Waters, whose dead parents Ming Xian first found poisoned by Greif poison, when she first came to Jixing Abyss after the tournament. SO, Ming Yi is her alias...maybe she will take it as her real name and never go back to ming xian?
I feel like I miss the significance of that leaf in the altar alongside The Golden Millet. What was that?
After all the discussion and promises to Ruo Shui (the illegitimate daughter of the evilHou..) that she will continue her family tree, she was still trying to put down roots and grow even in the heart of Mu Bai evil tree, as he slowly killed her. BuXiu rescued the sprig of her tree which RS gave JBZ in gratitude, and suddenly it appears in water on the altar to Bo Yulan, JBZ's Master, in JBZ's spirit Well.
My guess, in some purified fashion, ruo shui's tree lives on.
About the marriage stone. What is Ming Yi's birth name? Is it Ming Xian (is that a girls name)? or does she have a secret girl's name (not likely since 27 would use it). I am feeling a little slow.
So did the Lovers' Walk accept MY +JBZ bec: .. They are so physically close that an inch or less doesnt make a big difference? ..He loves her enough for 2, or, a one-sided love story is still a love story?. ..or she does love him already but it is deeply hidden...
