I noticed that too and I've been wondering more and more if that's deliberate. Because sometimes he loses all expression and I'm just like "you look dead inside" and considering who is directing him I just...I keep thinking that maybe he's *supposed* to look dead inside, and be a little off? Maybe? Because I don't recall him being like that in Enchanté, or in ABAAB (the little I got through before deciding it wasn't for me, that is).

It's a hope anyway, haha. Guess we'll see.

And they are SO giving Hunter a love interest, probably toward the end. That look away and hesitate before telling Irin he'd never been love was way too deliberate. I am wracking my brains trying to figure out who it'll be though.

And as I say every week without fail, still holding out for Hunter to be evil.

I love BL for what it is, but I appreciate what Jojo and co are trying to do, and I hope they succeed. I think that there can be a place for both, but it will probably take a bit to get there. Ideally I want both my sweet sappy escapism AND my messy portrayals of queer relationships. :D

I wouldn't trust either trailer too much, but especially not the pilot trailer. While the scenes in the official trailer will be in the show in some order, the problem is that they show it to us all mish-a-mash because what they're trying to do above all is get us to watch.

And the pilot trailer happened before the script was even written. It's not really a show, just a concept of a show filmed quickly as an idea, not as a final product. SO much can (and often will) change between concept and execution, sometimes (often) for the better imo (forever thankful I watched the eclipse pilot trailer after seeing the show, because if I had seen that first I never would have bothered, lol).

Well if I am perfectly one hundred percent honest I would like a SandRay endgame too, mostly because the set up is so delicious to me but also because The Eclipse is one of my favorite dramas and I love First & Khao's chemistry.

That said, even in the first ep I just don't see it happening, haha. I know that there are twists and turns still to come but they've done a great job of making me loathe Ray already *and* make me think that Sand is too patient with him (I would have taken his car keys and left him at the bar, tbh. Given the keys to Yo and then washed my hands of the drunken mess outside). Frankly I do not have time or energy for that much mess and I'm already worrying that Sand is gonna let him take it way way too far before he gives in and gives up. Probably when Ray finally gets his wish and sleeps with Mew, lol.

If it weren't for my First bias I'd still be all over it, haha. I love dramatic mess and that promises to give. I'm just going to hate watching Sand's character get beat down over and over again emotionally (from what I got out of the trailer anyway). I hope he returns the favor but I'm not betting on it. He seems far too nice under all that gruffness.

And I personally try to be positive here as much as possible - I've been on too many pages where people hated where a drama went and just never shut up about it to want to contribute to that - but I don't think that there's anything wrong with being disappointed and briefly venting. Also I play video games so I'm way too used to things like review bombing. People get really inflated opinions of themselves when they think they have any power at all, and you will see it time and time again with any sort of voting or ranking system. It's not in me personally to bother but I see it too often to be surprised by it.

Well sure, it's dumb...but it's not going to stop people lol. Plus I've said before, I think that some people watching are doing so for their cps, not for the content - so if they even know what's coming I'd be surprised. I think a lot of people are expecting a straightforward romance arc and that's...not going to happen. When it doesn't, some will be unable to help from venting their disappointment at length. I've seen it a lot.

I feel for them. It seems obvious to me that they are trying to find a medium between honest queer media and BL, and it's a hard line to walk because people expect certain things from BL and get very tetchy when they don't get it. There's also the blatant homophobia which tends to come out the more you show queer people actually being queer - ie, having and enjoying sex.

There are people out there for whom this is a breath of fresh air, though, and I hope that series like this (and even series that aren't as sexually charged but show relationships in all their honest messy glory like MLC) are very successful so that production companies like GMMTV continue to allow them to be made.

I like to think that BL as people know it and what Jojo and co are trying to do can coexist peacefully. Not every show is for everyone, and that is perfectly okay. I just wish people could grasp that without trying to actively shut down what they don't like or find uncomfortable.

Anyway thank you for sharing this. The more I see from these guys the more I respect them, and the more I hope that they can achieve their goals.

Pretty sure they're fighting more because Top cheats with Boston at some point. :D New trailer actually didn't have that element in it iirc - Boston hooking Top and Mew up.

I would not be so sure. I am a little biased about one of the golden matches haha I would like it if they would stay paired up, but I genuinely can't see them ending up together from what I know. None of them, haha.

I think an everyone is alone ending would impress me the most, but I doubt it'll go that way, either.

But then I'm a weirdo who enjoys knowing what the end game is in romance. Not about who is established, I just find most love triangles to be tedious. But I'm not here for the romance, I'm here for the mess. I can't wait until these people start taking wrecking balls to themselves and each other. Hopefully with some good character work along the way and some decent plot.

Wow Charn is just terrified, isn't he? Every time he takes a step forward (or back towards who he used to be), he scrambles several more in the other direction as fast as his legs can carry him. Do I think power was his plan the whole time? Yes. Do I think that his plan was always to take Thatthep's power for himself? Oh yes. But there was something in the way he was talking to Rose that was almost manic - he *is* trying his best to drag Tinn down with him because as he said, it's easier to do that than to do the work to become the better person that Tinn needs him to be (and that I think a part of him wants to be? which is what makes him even more terrified, probably). Whether or not he gets there (I think he will get to some acceptable middle ground but I have been wrong before, lol), I think that either way he's gonna lose the person he's falling in love with despite himself (because I do think he is falling in love). I don't think he'll lose Rose, but she's clearly unhappy with him, too. I love her.

Can I just say how happy I am that it wasn't Maya who was betraying them? I worried. I like that the show acknowledged that it could be, though - loved that there were three subjects to bait and that they baited them all. No clue why Vit did what he did but well, Tinn has a point that living in Charn's world constantly might eventually impact a person in a negative way. Which is also why I am incredibly unsurprised that it looks like he walks away next ep. He should. Because if he doesn't Charn might succeed in dragging him down where he is, and then he'd hate himself.

The talk about Tonkhao really got to me this ep. I don't know. I love that she is gone but she's still so present, and there is just something about the way they're showing that grief keeps creeping up on you that kills me. They can all smile and be happy and enjoy themselves, and then something as simple as watching Charn eat soup sends them right back to that hurting place because it hits them all over again that that little girl was once here to enjoy the soup and now she never ever will be again. And boom! They're getting teary and I'm getting teary and it's just very very well done.

The fire was hilarious and I laughed so hard I started to choke.

Grandma is the best and I adore her.

And okay, fine. I admit it. They've got me with Thaenthai this episode. It helps when he's not running around being a total asshat and beating the shit out of people after they're tied up and helpless. But yeah, I felt for him. Get that man out of that house stat, Thee. He's going to wind up doing something really desperate if you don't.

Now the interminable wait for next week begins.
