100% agree. He’s the only one who knew something was going on between Neung and Ben besides Palm.
Yep, and he's got a huge, obvious, unrequited crush on Ben.

I did suspect that it was going to be jealousy over Ben that turned him against Nueng, but this is just...well, it's cheap, like I already said. But it's the easiest thing to do so I suspect it's what we're getting.

Chopper is totally gonna be the one who outed Ben and Nueng. Calling it now.

(I think it's cheap but inevitable, would love to be proven wrong)

I think ABC (American Broadcasting Company) is international (i could be mistaken though)
Ah, I hope so! Thanks for the info, the fact that it's with the same production company as Kabe Koji gives me hope.

I think Nueng will buy Palm basketball shoes as a apology but Palm will give the shoes back but accept a verbal…
I think this too. And I think that I will think that Palm accepts the apology too easily, but then I usually do in stuff like this.

I wouldn't say that they forget him, exactly - they stop seeing him, is more the thing. No one forgets him entirely…
No worries! Glad I could be of some help. I really do think it's worth it if you can stand it, but it is extremely well acted and shot, and the chemistry with the two leads makes it hit all the harder. Truly the biggest tragedy is that we got this much chemistry from a tragic ending BL. Why, Japan? Why?

My dramatics aside, when I watched with a friend it did help - I did wind up feeling it very deeply and I haven't been able to watch the whole thing all the way through on my own since the first time, although I've watched the third episode on its own so much that I'm actually grateful Viki doesn't have a counter, lol. Truly a glorious episode.

I will say that it isn't all pain. The ending is very painful, and there is a sort of melancholy that permeates a lot of the drama, but it also has some of the most heartwarming, sweetest scenes.

Anyway, clearly I loved it and could talk about it forever, ha. If you do wind up watching it I hope you come back and report, even if it doesn't wind up being a favorite.

Title Eternal Yesterday Spoiler
I wouldn't say that they forget him, exactly - they stop seeing him, is more the thing. No one forgets him entirely…
Well, the story is very insular so if you're expecting other people to grieve with Mitsuru, then I have to warn you that's not going to happen. The root of the sadness is Mitsuru's (and Koichi's) loss, after all. But no, at no point does anyone forget him entirely. They do forget the three or four days that he spent as a living corpse, though. The "forgetting" in the summary is more like I said, people stop seeing him and they do forget that he's walking around without a heartbeat. But they still remember he existed. It's not like he's wiped from their memories completely.

I'll be honest with you, every time I see it "pushed", as you say, it's in answer to whether someone should watch it and usually adds in a caveat about pain. I can't be everywhere on the internet of course, but on the same token I don't really think saying people should watch it is being pushy, really. I don't think that most people who say this would be bothered if it's not everyone's cup of tea. I know I'm not!

Personally, no. I do not think that this show is for everyone. I generally avoid stuff like this myself, so no shade if it's something you can't handle, or heck, just don't want to.. The part that got to me was the swipe at people who did like it, because as I said I don't think it's a fair one, so I appreciate the apology. :)

The main thing stopping me from watching this (and there are a lot of things because I'm not in a good emotional…
I wouldn't say that they forget him, exactly - they stop seeing him, is more the thing. No one forgets him entirely like he never existed. I don't really want to say more without spoilers but I can if you like.

I do not consider it sadness tourism either, fwiw. I actually think that it was a very sensitive meditation on grief. I think that assuming that we're happy tourists to sadness is a little insensitive in and of itself, tbh. You have no way of knowing that. I also don't think that it qualifies as misery porn. Sweetness is not often found in misery porn, and there's a lot of sweetness in this show, in spite of the tragedy.

I kinda fail to "feel" this show. I like all characters and all dynamics but somehow for me something's missing…
I'm liking it quite a bit more than I expected to originally, but I admit that I pay a little more attention when Perth is on the screen. Biased, me? Never! ;)

He didn't 'want' to kiss him? His facial expressions beforehand and afterwards say otherwise.
Well, less that than I think he wants to want Ben more than he actually wants Ben. But I guess we'll see. It's also very possible that it was just a bad kiss.

You know that to be able to produce a 16 episode drama with 1hour length each episode it needs a lot of funding…
To be fair, though, Light On Me was abnormal for KBL. My guess is it got more funding for whatever reason, and I had hoped it might start a trend but it looks like not.

am I tripping because I swear I watched episode 3 on viki but now when I went to rewatch it said not available…
They had up from like Friday - Monday/Tues, then removed it again because I think they realized that they released it wrong (it was supposed to air this week as there was a one week hiatus). So they'll release it again Friday.

Honestly I really like it so far. It's a little over the top, but imo in a fun way rather than one that has me rolling my eyes. I'm enjoying the chemistry between Nueng and Palm, ship Ben and Chopper a lot, and hey, this was the first episode that I wasn't side eyeing Ben the entire time!

I really liked the different moments between Palm and Nueng this ep, even Nueng being awful and jealous at the end. I don't know if I believe that's what he thinks so much as he's trying to wound and also kind of throwing the distance Palm likes to keep between them in his face. Either way I hope that we see some apologizing - he can't just pull that whenever he gets upset. I have to say, though, that I do like that he's a bit petty and jealous and vindictive.

The Ben & Chopper scene was very good - I am so curious if we'll ever find out what happened there, they both seem to have a lot of feelings about it. Chopper is low key my favorite right now and I dread his inevitable turn to villainhood.

I kind of liked the kiss between Ben & Nueng, and right now am sticking to the belief that the awkwardness of it is down to direction. If the kiss with Palm happens next ep I will make a final judgement then, but for now I am holding to the belief that it was to showcase that Nueng might want love and affection and will take it from anyone (and I do think that he likes Ben, just not quite in a romantic sense), but it's not Ben he wants to be kissing and it shows. I guess we'll see, though.

Actually, that scene at the karaoke bar was crucial because it showed how Seung Hyun's colleagues were so threatened…
Ha, thank you! Picking names is the worst part about signing up for anything, imo.

Hi, I thought the discussion was about Seung Hyun and the project management team, not Jong Chan. . I'd agree that one was nvy and paranoia but I wasn't talking about it, I'm honestly not sure that the two things have anything to do with each other as of yet, though I don't suppose that means that they couldn't in future, considering.

I don't know about envy. I just figured it was revenge because Seung Hyun quit doing their work. And even if that was per Jong Chan's orders, they can't get at him, can they? But they can sure get at the intern, who might not be from their department but is still their junior in the company and will thus feel pressured to go with them.

Just my two cents, of course.

Next ports of call after Viki would be iQiyi and WeTV, although I haven’t checked their options for a while.…
Okay I have to ask - what was the thing you waited 9 months for?

One of the best episodes I've seen in any drama. The dialogue, the cinematography, the acting, everything about…
Yeah I know he described his name as ordinary and how that's tied into how he thinks of himself - I just missed that it uses the kanji for "hill" - I even missed the dialogue cues for that one, which is more what I was commenting on - I could hear the word for sea (as described in the first convo, yes) when they're talking about it - I also definitely caught it when he was shrieking it as he ran towards the sea, lol - I just didn't catch the other. Clever. ,and something I will definitely have an ear out for it next time I watch.
