I mean people can change a lot after high-school so the Shirota thing didn't bother meBut it was sad to see how…
I don't know if I agree with you. I think that some people can and do, if they honestly reflect on past behavior and put the work in to stop it and be a better person. I don't love Shirota but to be fair he was much more pleasant this go around. I don't think it's entirely fair to assume that he couldn't grow out of being a jealous, petty kid.
To be fair though, my first reaction was "oh no Kurata you were the one person I liked from that group!"
Lowkey same lol I guess because he "steals" quite a significant amount of screentime which could have been spent…
Eh, he encourages Hira but I'm not entirely sure it's the way he needs - he responds a lot better to the way Kiyoi goes about it. Koyama is gentle and sweet with Hira but Hira doesn't respond to that at all. I enjoy the contrast between him and Kiyoi and the way that Hira reacts to both of them.
I think it’s my favorite Japanese BL ever. I love Old Fashion Cupcake and Eternal Yesterday, but MBM is in a…
I can't choose between MBM and EY. I tried, but it's not possible. They hit very different buttons for me but they're both 11/10, compare everything else to it dramas.
My third would be Seven Days, if we can count movies. OFC was excellent but for whatever reason I didn't fall in love with it the way so many people did.
Knew that they would paper over the fight and pretend that they can just ignore it. They were very cute, but those issues aren't just going to go away. I am really glad that they introduced Noguchi, if only because I think it's important to see that it's not just Kiyoi that Hira reacts to in the way he does - it's everything. For Hira, being negative about himself is a way of life.
It's nice to see Kiyoi really trying to connect with Hira in his way, rather than Kiyoi's. Not sure it'll help much, but I like that he sees and understands that Hira doesn't communicate like he does and tries to meet him (even if he does sometimes revert to the old sulking reaction first).
I really like Anna, and i love how fast Kiyoi spilled about Hira. Boy has been waiting to spill to someone, it's clear. And she's a good sounding board for him, I think.
This made me really look forward to the movie, but now I have to wait again and I hate waiting.
I'm interested. Plot sounds like it could be fun and I'm not gonna make any big judgements based on a trailer. Hopefully it gets an international release so I can at least check it out if only for the novelty of Fluke smiling more than crying!
I'm liking this. It's got a quietly melancholy feel that makes me worry about how it's going to end, but I still like it.
I am getting the sense that the biggest problem in the relationship was that they stopped talking. Ritsu got caught up in his work and was flighty, Fumiya stewed in silent resentment until it would burst out of him, Ritsu reacted to the anger by hiding even more...and so on. I like it, it's very realistic.
I'm actually not a fan of Fumiya trying to use the amnesia as an excuse to get back to what he and Ritsu were. Shuji is right, it's not a reset button.
I don't think that this will wind up being a real break up, tbh. I think that Kiyoi will calm down and come back and maybe they'll actually talk but probably not. And the crack will be there to widen in the movie.
I think that if they wanted to cover even the majority of the second novel in the second season then they wouldn't have bothered with the two side stories in the first two eps. This is just setting us up for what's to come, imo.
Pretty sure the movie is going to be the rest of the 2nd book. I haven't read the third one and it's been a while…
Oh, isn't that the movie trailer? Because I remember that because it's my favorite scene from the 2nd book. I bet Yagi Yusei will act the hell out of it and I can't wait.
Also the photography thing is the last straw for Kiyoi in the novel, iirc (again it's been a while since I read it, the breakup and kidnapping/stabbing just stuck in my head because it's my entire jam).
We're definitely getting the photographer next ep. My bet (although again, I don't actually know I'm just guessing) is that Hira and Kiyoi will paper over their argument but it'll come back up during the movie, and that's when the real split will happen. Mostly because it kind of has to be Hira that walks away, I think, unless they're really going for a different approach (as opposed to Kiyoi not really wanting to break up so much as trying to make Hira wake up and fight for them for once).
Either way I'm looking forward to the next ep. I think this one was the best yet, and I hope episode four improves on it (while also making us all crazy to see the movie, of course :D)
Yeah he’s killing it this season. In fact I find Kiyoi the more sympathetic character now when he seemed more…
Full disclosure I did not find Kiyoi unlikeable, but his reactions to Hira especially were more subtle, probably because we were deliberately being kept in Hira's viewpoint for the first four eps. While Kiyoi watching Hira is there if you look, he's way more open with him now and it's much more obvious that Hira's view of things is kinda messed up. It's honestly brilliant how well they're showcasing reality vs. Hira's head.
Pretty sure the movie is going to be the rest of the 2nd book. I haven't read the third one and it's been a while…
But we still have Anna's secret love, the agency pushing the Anna/Kiyoi "romance" to distract from said secret love, the photographer hiring Hira and the controversy that comes from that (when Hira says he doesn't want to photograph Kiyoi), them moving out together...
I mean it's entirely possible that they're just skipping all that. And I'm curious what trailer you are talking about because the only one I saw I don't recall showing anything that made me think that Hira gets stabbed during the series. Can you link it, please? Or tell me where to find it? I'd appreciate it! I only ever saw the first trailer from gaga.
I will say that I have read a synopsis of the third novel and I can't see that being the movie from the trailer. I guess they could be doing an entirely new thing though.
Ep 3 covered a lot from the book, and now leaves only the big finale for next week. So the question is, what shall…
Pretty sure the movie is going to be the rest of the 2nd book. I haven't read the third one and it's been a while since I read the 2nd, but I don't think it covered a huge chunk. I don't remember Kiyoi storming out before the big fight towards the end, true (and then he wasn't the one to leave but Hira!), but I kinda assumed that that was put in to show where the main conflict is going to come from in the movie. I assume they're gonna smooth it over next ep but the cracks are gonna spread during the movie where we'll get the "break up" bit (and then my favorite part of the second novel, yay!).
Hira's doing the same thing here he did in the first season. He's wrapping himself so tightly in this belief that he doesn't deserve Kiyoi and so Kiyoi can't truly want him that it's almost become armor, insulating him from what he assumes is the inevitable when Kiyoi leaves. Of course, what he doesn't realize is that in doing so *he's* the one who has one foot out the door.
I'm not the biggest fan of second seasons because they always have to break up the main couple for stupid reasons so that they can try to recapture the magic or whatever, but I love this kind of thing. This makes sense with their personalities and their baggage - that stuff doesn't just go away because you're in love. It has to be actively worked on.
This episode was painful but I liked it a lot. It's setting up the main conflict that I assume will be in the movie quite nicely.
I would just ignore it. People are gonna think how they think, and this drama in particular always has people…
I think we might not get there until the movie, actually. This season seems to be just setting the stage for the meat of the second book, which is what the movie will be. There were definitely scenes in the movie trailer that looked to be from moving into their own place.
I think they're just gonna have his parents move back for work reasons, since that's why they moved away in the drama.
To be fair though, my first reaction was "oh no Kurata you were the one person I liked from that group!"

Okay, ahem. I'm okay now.

The movie is absolutely going to be a continuation of s2, not a compilation.

Could be wrong, though!
